I saw this about 5, 6 years ago on TCM. They were doing like a Friday night Grindhouse thing. This movie fucked with my head. A small-town crime boss accepts delivery of a stolen car, only to find there's a baby in the back-seat. He and his transvestite "wife" cut out the boy's tongue and raise him as a mute accomplice in their crimes. When the grown "Sonny Boy" escapes and tries to make contact with the outside world, the attention he draws to his warped family results in darkly-humored mayhem. David Carradine as Peral (yes David Carradine in drag) Paul L Smith Brad Dourif Conrad Janis INSANITY! https://youtu.be/h-il2a_zJHQ

I'm a Halloween junkie. It's muddled, makes no sense, has a bad mythology (starting with part 4) and yet...I love Michael Myers and Laurie Strode. I honestly think the Friday the 13th series takes a worse turn after the 3rd movie while trying to play with clever ideas. Like the ideas in the F13 sequels are clever (moving away from Camp Crystal Lake, the possession by cannibalism aspect, the FBI and monster bounty hunters, even the cloning in space) but the execution just doesn't work for me. In terms of the horror movie franchises, I usually rate them Evil Dead Halloween Child's Play Nightmare Friday the 13th Texas Chainsaw

I saw it on their Instagram too. No joke, I did the same costume last year at a small comic con I was presenting at. no one got it. I was thrilled.

Long time...first time...blah blah blah If we are to postulate that Gamer shares a universe with Death Race/Fast and Furious/Crank and (as mentioned in the episode) the antagonist of Crank 2 is a body-less head, that Terry Crews very easily could have had his head cut off, kept alive via Crank 2 methods and then reattached?

Somehow I missed this all happening, 15 days or so ago. I was going through The Zone (a forum I used to be very active on and haven't been in forever) and a link to McWeeney's blog about this caught my eye. That's when I realized what had happened. I wasn't a big fan of Devin's. Haven't for a long time. I was an "Aint-it-cool" guy back in the late 90s-mid 2000s, then I moved to their forum (the aforementioned Zone) and Devin's work just never appealed to me. I found The Canon during their brief apperance on I Was there too and started listening to episodes. I work two jobs, one of which involves travel, so I listen to a lot of podcasts, but The Canon was one I really looked forward to. there are only a few podcasts I really really look forward to listening to and The Canon was one of the few non-comedy ones I did. Amy, your insights I really connected with, even if I didn't always agree, and I came across a new appreciation of Devin's work. I created an account on the forums (despite having been an earwolf listener for years) to comment on this.
