Sorry, it's my pet peeve when people say "Canadian accent."

There are people who can explain this better than I can, but there is no "Canadian accent."  When people say that, they are thinking of an Ontario or Alberta accent. I am from Newfoundland (pronounced New-Found-LAND) and no one talks with what people would call a Canadian accent. We sound Irish.

Seriously. Somehow Americans can acknowledge that people from New York City don't sound like people from Baltimore (and hell, accents vary across New York state), yet all Canadians sound the same? I mean, vis-à-vis Newfoundland, I wish us Torontonias went around calling people "b'y", but that's neither here nor there...

  2. P.S.: I disliked the fake NYC rooftop B.B.Q. skyline C.G.I. effect... That's the risk of having High Definition imagery, some things are so perfect and detailed that the eye knows that is fake (I know they can't shoot on location because people in the adjacent buildings can/could see them shooting the end scene)

It's such a small thing, but that final scene stood out to me because of the CGI. I also disliked the fake fire in the opening race. It's such a bummer because they could've done it with practical effects.

  3. Also with the competition for affection for Ramsay between Tyrese and Ludacris, am I the only one that was waiting for her at the end to tell them that she was a lesbian? I liked her tripping them up with the "what's my last name" question but it just means that we get more uncomfortable courting in the sequels.

I figured they'd give her a throwaway line about Shaw and cut to Roman and Tej's reaction shots.

  4. I have to second this opinion. I also feel that Vin Diesel is a more selfish lover, like he would call out his own name during sex or have you wear a paper bag that has a his picture on it on your head.

I'm thinking a series of grunts, followed by a post-coital Q & A wherein he beams at you and asks, "When did this become orgasm world?"

  5. I go with 5, 8, 7, 6, 4, 1, 2, 3. Seriously. The only good thing about Tokyo Drift is that it gave us Han two movies later.

Excuse me? There are two good things about Tokyo Drift. One is Han and the other is this:

    https://youtu.be/iuJDhFRDx9M

I want to ask everyone that complains about Han: did you not pay attention to the movie?

It's revealed that Cipher was manipulating them the exact same way she was manipulating Dom. Shaw did what he did for his family - the same way that Dom does. And in the end, he rescues part of Dom's literal family. The team is definitely not totally cool with him for most of the movie. It's only during the final scene after he's rescued Dom's son that he is invited to be a real member of the gang.

But he and Hobbs totally wanted to fuck for the whole movie.

Which is never discussed onscreen with any member of the team except Hobbs, and the reactions to Shaw pre-reveal are more on the side of "Fuck that guy, he's Bad and British," and not "Fuck that guy, he murdered our friend." After all he went through trying to quit smoking!

Hobbs and Shaw were 100% down to fuck. Dom/Vince is still the great tragic romance of the franchise for me. Imagine naming your son after your ex and then keeping tabs on him from the afterlife only to discover that he named his son after the buster he dumped you for.

  6. I was looking forward to HDTGM to salvage how bad Fate of the Furious was, but so far it seems like they liked it???

I'd have to rank the films as 6, 5, 4, 1, 7, 2, 3, 8, 4. And 4 might be better than 8 because it at least sets up cool shit that happens in 5 and 6.

I love Jason Statham and I'm always happy to see him in anything, but I cannot believe the gang's all cool with him and he's invited to the cookout. #Justice4Han

Did I see a different movie wasn't Charlize NOT GOOD!??? "I'm whispering so you can tell I'm a villain"

She was laughably bad and I don't understand any of her acting choices.
