Listen, I know bad movies. We all know bad movies, we listen to this podcast. But have you seen Santa Girl?
Released in August of this year (2019), this movie follows Santa Claus's teenage daughter, Cassandra Claus, as she navigates romance and her freshman year of college. After gaining admission to a "real world" college, Santa agrees to let Cassandra attend school for 1 semester, as long as she marries Jack Frost's son to solidify the fragile alliance between the Frost and Claus clans. Cassandra has been betrothed to Jack Frost's son since she was born, but upon entering the Real World develops a crush on "the boy with no money."
This movie is full of christmas lights, bad elf ear prosthetics, digital snow, and blue light. The acting is abhorrent. The budget is paltry. My husband and I created a drinking game for the movie where the only rule is "drink every time they can't keep the shot in frame" and I'm here to tell you -- we drunk.
Please watch. Please critique. I'm not sure it's worth anyone's time, but at the end of the day, aren't we all here to ask ourselves "HOW DID THIS GET MADE?"
