Yes to all of this. I assume the reason why they didn't understand is because "jam" is more of a black streetball term, and I would not expect Jason or June to have that lived experience. The only reason I knew it was a thing is because my brother loves pickup games and all things basketball in general. He could probably tell you the whole lineup of the NBA Jam video game.
