  1. I'm not sure if anyone else has ever heard of a site called Akinator.com before, but I've been messing with it today w/ some of my favorite podcasting hosts. basically, you think of a person, real or fictional, and through a series of seemingly random questions, it tells you who you were thinking of.. pretty cool if you ask me.

The first one i tried was the sklars.. and here's the results:

I do enjoy that the helmet's sides are labeled. Just in case you put it on and can't see out of the eye holes, you can take it off and make sure you've lined it up correctly.

I noticed that too.. i imagine there were several instances where he put it on backwards, and was like "FUCK"

I had no idea until you said that that Leykis was based on a real person. Wow.

i had forgotten about him for years, if i remember correctly, his claim to fame was having some woman call in that had murdered her husband and he supposedly said something like "you can't press *67 to block your call when you call an 800 number" and then she was arrested.

no idea if it really happened tho.

  4. Matt, as someone who used to work for Discover Card in their soul-crushing activations department, I can tell you that your card is activated as soon as you finish the computerized portion of the activation.. You can hang up as soon as it says you are being transferred to a person to confirm your activation. When i had first started there, I remember asking my trainer, "if the system is automated, why do they need to talk to us, doesn't that sort of negate the point of the automated system?" I did not get a clear answer..

They were asking you about your purchase amounts to try to get you to sign up for a rewards card which has a monthly fee, or to see if they could enroll you in some BS credit protection that puts your debt on hold like Aflac does in case you are unable to work due to an emergency..complete garbage.

    anyways.. glad i left
