  1. And yes, I want to reiterate what Scott said (and Ben), please don't be unkind to Dave Anthony or any of our guest judges because of this show. Dave did us a favor and it really reflects poorly on Scott and I, not to mention all of you, that his show has been mistreated on iTunes. And as Ben suggests, it won't help me booking any future shows and booking is one of the hardest parts to making this show happen.

  3. @Linus I still can't figure out the spacing thingy, I'm a dolt :)

Don't worry, I get what you were saying and I think you are right. And I know that sometimes I can get emotional and hot-headed...that's why Scott is the official Earwolf Spokesperson!

I don't think a lot of people realize the impact they have on real people who create things and read what is written. Last night a bunch of us were talking about this very thing at UCB (Kumail, Aziz, Maron, Thune, Benson). It's hard to stomach sometimes, even if most the time you just let it roll off your back like your Mom taught you. But come to think of it, there were no interent forums when she taught me that. I better call her now and ask if that still applies...

  5. You want honesty. You want answers. I'm AFRAID to post on my own goddamn forum. That sucks. Let me start by saying, I don't think the guest judges are to blame. They came in and did the best they could. I don't feel Besser is to blame, he tried to keep things interesting. I don't blame Scott, we were all with him on this effort to try and have fun with this particular challenge and we knew that the time element was a very legitimate issue to introduce. I don't blame Frank or Peter because they have put their hearts and souls into this entire show since APRIL when we first started to work on it. Including myself, all of the people I mentioned above are guilty in some small way of poor execution. 1 million forum commenters can't be wrong. But to say it's biased is not true. To say that we are too corporate is not true. Would a big corporation bring 9 competitors to the attention of their customers? For every minute you are listening to The Bob and Dan Cast you aren't listening to Who Charted?. I knew that coming in and I still wanted to do the show and get exposure for the contestants. So enough with the "corporate" bullshit. I'm flattered that my idea to try something new has gotten so many of you to care so much. But it makes me sad how quickly you can turn on us. It makes me not want to try new things like this. And the number one reason I started Earwolf was to innovate the shit out of digital comedy. To say that our entire "brand" has a pox upon it due to Week 9 of The Earwolf Challenge is a shame. Over 40 people and 260 guests have worked their asses off for free, week in and week out for a long time to build up trust and credibility with you guys and many of you are taking one episode from one show and saying that throws it all away. I guess I'm just confused about what you want? I read the criticism that we were repeating the challenges so we tried something new. This just feels like a whole lotta can't win. If I come on here and defend us - I'm not "listening". If I agree with you that we suck - I'm being dishonest. I'm not going to throw my colleagues under the bus, they work too hard to deserve that. I'm just not sure what many of you want us to say? We tried something new. It didn't work well. For that, I am sincerely sorry. Really, we want this show to succeed, obviously. But I don't think one week of poor execution makes us the worst people in podcasting. Okay, I've re-read this post enough that I better just hit the button, it's not getting any better. Here goes...
