19 Comedy Podcasts That Should Already Exist
Julia replied to Chamberlain's topic in General Earwolf
I'm going to give that entire list to Santa this year. -
Watch your downloads continue to increase, Team Who Charted! Just got my t-shirt in the mail, and, let me assure you, my chest is prime real estate to spread the word. Kudos to Aaron on a kickass design.

@Brenda H... I'm not sure if this title says much about what their show is, but your "THE DANCAST: FUCK BOB!" suggestion made me laugh.

@Caroline... Maybe the show will pick up new listeners. Who Charted? - a podcast meant for comedy nerds, musicians, chart followers, and women searching online for information regarding "transvaginal mesh" lawsuits.

I've learned a thing or two from the judges every week, but I think this week's judging session was my favorite. Doug and Harris really knew their stuff, and were obviously familiar with the Challenge and the contestants before coming in, which made this a fun listen. Also, just a side note, LHR did a great job defending themselves today. I agreed with Harris' initial criticism of their sketch, and their explanation made me understand their point of view. The top three all did great work this week, which is why I'm so excited to see what happens next week when things get really cutthroat!

In reference to the bonus chart: Is Harris Wittels aware that Andy Richter's not into jam music?

I found all of the clips interesting to listen to, but I thought that the Little Dum Dum Club was the funniest. They seemed to be able to get in there, find a funny "game" the fastest, and start riffing. I was also impressed that LDDC did as well as they did, because I thought it was possible that the three-way Skype conversation could hurt their chemistry, but it certainly did not. Also, I appreciated Harris and Doug's feedback. It seemed that they had heard some past episodes of the Challenge, or at least pieces of it, which made for the clearest judging episode of the Challenge thus far. I do understand that not all judges are able to do as much prep work, but I think it really showed that Harris and Doug had taken the time, or the producers at least, took the time to familiarize themselves with the Challenge and the contestants before taping.

Watch out, girls! You might have some competition, because I'd do anything... FOR THE CROOOOOWN.

Episode 64 — Bob\'s Medicine Cabinet
Julia replied to admin's topic in Affirmation Nation with Bob Ducca
I think I'm going to need a bigger medicine cabinet. -
More Foam Corner, please! Also, I'd like to hear more installments in the saga of Jack and Bryan; they make my life seem more interesting by comparison.

Socratic Hosting; What "The Challenge" can learn from "The Challenge"
Julia replied to c_n_anderson's topic in The Earwolf Challenge
I think a bonus episode would be awesome, Matt. I appreciate that you guys are discussing listeners' suggestions to see what works on the show and what can be improved. - Here's something I've noticed on some "reality" programs that may or may not work on the Challenge... On reality singing competitions, the judges are not hearing the songs for the first time. They sit in on rehearsal, so they pretty much already know what they're going to say. The advantage of the judges listening in on the clips before the episode is taped is they could ask questions of the producers to understand the shows and hosts a little better. The downside, of course, would be that we're not hearing their first reaction to a clip. They may not laugh the second time around or what have you. I'm undecided if this would be a change for the better or the worse, but I want to know what you other listeners think? Would it be beneficial for judges to hear the clips, off-air, before the episode is taped, or is it better as is? -
VIDEO: "Math Rock" Paul F. Tompkins Intro - Who Charted? Podcast Episode 38
Julia replied to frankpulaski's topic in Who Charted?
Great job, Frank! -
I always find the results of the Earwolf listener poll interesting. The economic breakdown of it is especially unique, but I would hope the education level, age demographic, and gender would appeal to advertisers. Hopefully more of them will start to catch on that Earwolf offers an audience that would really fit with certain companies. Especially in the $100,000+ income bracket, Earwolf is able to boast that it has young, educated listeners with disposable incomes. If I put on my Don Draper hat for a minute, I can't imagine a more ideal target audience than that.

@robstraws... Agreed. It's nice that The F+ got the chance to joke around a bit in the end. I'm sure they'll be gaining new listeners from their participation in the Challenge.
