  1. I think what happens is, people can take things very personally if you insult something they liked and get very defensive. I realize you were joking now, but it seemed like you were being rtoo harsh at the time. If someone says a movie liked you is dumb, it can feel like they're saying your dumb liking it, even though I know that isn't usually the intention.
After day 3 though and listening to how you felt doing the challenge on your own podcast I thought you came across a lot better.

I've had a bad cold these past two days, so that's my excuse for being in a shitty mood, so at least this thread has provided me with a lot of entertainment.

I've given WTR a 5 star rating on itunes to try and counter the assholes.

  3. Jeff, the fact that you've inspired such passionate responses shows you've been doing something right. The fact that people are this disappointed over what they perceive to be a drop in quality is a testament to how consistently well-produced Earwolf's podcasts have been - It's the usual high quality that makes it stick out even more.

I still think the idea for this challenge was a good one, it just wasn't implemented very well. The guidelines didn't seem to be explained to contestants or the judges properly and the half hour time limit seemed arbitrarily short. If they were supposedly going to be interviewing Zach for an hour, then giving them an hour to come up with something would have made more sense, and the extra 30 minutes have been a lot fairer on LHR.

But it's fine with me, I've not turned on Earwolf, I'm a little disappointed with how this went down, but then I listened to this week's Who Charted and I was in a great mood again.

So thanks for all the work Jeff, don't let it get you down or discourage you.

  5. There was a nice conversation briefly about different philosophies towards podcasts that Earwolf and Walking the Room have and the discussion over consistency/having a bad week. Dave Anthony and Matt Belknap came across a lot better today.

It still all seems irrelevant though because whatever criteria you judge it by - how effectively they worked under pressure /professionalism/how funny it was. LHR knocked Totally Laime out of park, and I don't dislike TL at all.

It's just a real shame that lessons still haven't been learnt after all this time and such a huge mistake was made at such a crucial point in the competition.
