  1. Last year, my favorite episode was voted the No. 1 best episode of the year, so I guess I have no reason to complain that this year, my favorite episode didn't even make the top 20. Since it didn't, though, I want to offer a special shout-out to Mookie for his performance as demonic possession by Michael Jackson in my favorite episode this year, "A Visit From Hee Hee-ll." I hope its failure to make the list won't prevent a return visit from hee hee-ll.
  2. Nick Lowe is kind of a perfect foil for Scott and Jason. I love his catch phrase: "Oh, no. Come come come."

    Episode 75 β€” Daredevil

I actually think that's the best Batman movie.
  4. Shelley Pope, aka The Black Pope - "I'm a Human Radio Station"
  5. Mary Holland and Drew Tarver!
  6. That year went by wicked fast. It's not unusual for me to find a new podcast, get very excited about it, then grow tired of it over a few weeks or months and eventually stop listening. That's never come close to happening with "The Fogelnest Files." I've been excited about it every single week for the last 52 weeks. Thanks for the great show, Jake. You are a professional.

    Episode 233 β€” Royal Watching

I mean, all of us here are going to call the new prince Beetle Bailey for his whole life, right?
  8. A better name for this podcast might be "The Garlin Interruption."

Episode 7 β€” A Crazy Moment in Phishtory

My favorite Phish song is the title music from "Tootsie." http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZecRJEkm9rE
  10. I guess the Earth equivalents of the Duckworld surnames "Duck" and "Waddle" would be "Mann" and "Walker," right?
  11. The Toni Basil song feels like the new-wave equivalent to the Kingsmen's follow-up hit to "Louie Louie." "The Jolly Green Giant"
  12. I'm a little surprised Jake covered the "We're Not Candy" PSA without mentioning it later became the chorus to Busta Rhymes' "Dangerous." Also, Natasha Lyonne is delightful.
  13. Flipmode is the squidod.
  14. This t-shirt. http://wireandtwine.com/store/products/special.html

    Episode 5 β€” Analyze Fish

I'm not mature or modest enough not to pipe up and mention that this came about from my idea, but I never thought it would actually happen, and so quickly. That's the power of Twitter. Thanks for turning my fantasy into reality! https://twitter.com/...103642870427648
  16. I kind of miss the early days of Comedy Central when you could watch reruns of "The Kids in the Hall," "Just One of the Guys" and "Earth Girls Are Easy" every single day. "Earth Girls" is still my favorite LA movie. (Sorry, "Repo Man.") And later, "Strip Mall" was my jam. I love Julie Brown forever.
  17. As soon as I saw the title of this episode, I thought, "Please let that be a L'Trimm reference."
  18. Gelmania reached a new level at The Smell. No going back. Personally, I transcended space and time through new flavor from Cracked Out.
  19. Skinny business, still not apologizing.

    Episode 167 β€” New No-Nos

    WOMP UP THE JAMZ.
  21. That's James Ross's headshot, by the way, not Johnny Meeks's.
  22. I'm sorry to hear that Besser's father died, but the stories Besser told about it were great improv material and also gave the episode a lot of heart. I dig Brian Huskey a lot (I'm always wicked happy to see him at Soundtrack shows), but I'm really looking forward to the day when we get an Improv4Humans episode featuring the complete UCB Four. Fingers crossed.

    Episode 118 β€” Hologram Toes

"Was that almost a 'What's up hotdog!' at the beginning of the episode? Nice cover, Scott. We all know where you were going with that." He also said "Comedy Death-Ray" at the end of the show. Brought a tear to my eye.
