When Jon Daly mentioned his nerd friend by name, I can only hope it's Shonn Greene, RB for the Jets. I just like picturing him at a D&D table.

I hope drama on message boards (which I sadly feel the need to respond to) doesn't change anything about this podcast or lead to some insane closing of any threads in the future. I'm pretty sure it and Earwolf as a whole are just supposed to be fun and funny. That being said - Cellar Door, is your argument "If you're white and you sub a different word in while rapping along with a song because the n-word is not something you're comfortable using, you're a bigot and in fact bigoted against white people?" Because that's what it seems to add up to. And it's silly. None of us is trying to make any word illegal for any group to use. In other words, your #3 does not apply because I'm not telling white people they aren't allowed to do anything, we were all talking about how we, individually, feel about our personal use of words and deal with a word we don't feel comfortable using. It's not like I'd feel comfortable using it if I was in a group of people who told me they were fine with the word. But no one who does use the word or ANY WORD has the right to make other people feel anything about the speaker's use of the words in question, even if you flawlessly use logic to justify it. thestray said it perfectly, you're either ignorant of or willingly disregarding context. And I suggested you favored the ARGUMENT that racists use against BET, not that you actually want a White Entertainment Television. Your axioms do, in fact, argue for "Why can't there be a White Entertainment Television if there's a BET?" This was rambly and unnecessary. I'll just close by pointing out the irony of "Unless your going to... this stupid debate it over" followed by telling somebody "Think before you type dude. So fucking dumb." I know "it" was a typo, but you + are = you're, not your and you used "your" incorrectly in more than one place in that post, leading to me to believe you haven't mastered that distinction yet. Sorry, I know that was petty and nerdy of me.

I won't hit quote on Cellar Door's giant block of text, but CD: Nope! There wasn't a debate for you to end. I deleted a long rambling reply because I feel embarrassed clogging up the boards with a block of text, but you're at least incorrect about the motivations for subbing one word for another. And I get the feeling you're a fan of the "Why isn't there a WHITE Entertainment Television channel?" argument. I don't think you're a racist, I just get the feeling you want to seem edgy and intellectual, as evidenced by your need to give demographic information that lends nothing to your arguments.

might be the single greatest sentence I've seen on an Earwolf board.

It would definitely be racist if you ONLY use "ninja" when the person is of Japanese descent, that's for sure. I noticed that, too, and thought maybe they just didn't want to wade into those waters (is that a phrase...?). Even the caller pointed out his own Hispanic/Latino heritage but specified white people in a way that made me wonder if he felt comfortable using it, himself. It's a moot point if the caller was a robot, as robots cannot be blamed for their programmed speech.
-
The bottom line is why does somebody need to say it, anyway? Like whether or not you're "allowed" to use that word, -er or-a, what compels a white guy (any guy, really) to feel that's the word he needs to use at a given moment? Fun little twist, if you feel the need to rap along with songs that use it, substitute the word "dragon." I've gotten to the point where even listening along in real time to Dead Prez songs, I hear "dragon" instead of what they actually use. It's fun!

Because they were mentioned again in this episode, I'll say I hope when the guys from Stop Podcasting Yourself make it down to LA again some day they can show up on Who Charted. Their episode with Kulap was a lot of fun and that had a great rapport.

Key & Peele were great in this. I always like a good humanzee reference, even if there was literally no response to it. And maybe I just have election fever, but I love how political Scott has become over the past few weeks.

Scott, you were a week late on your Would You Rather? tribute to September 11.

This was incredible, thanks a lot for this episode. The world honestly is a better place for having Richard Simmons in it. Besides being extremely entertaining, he's probably helped more people than we can even comprehend and obviously genuinely cares. If he can come back, I'd love to hear more about his relationship with Howard Stern, if that's not verboten. I think it's an even more fascinating dynamic than the one with Letterman, because they were actually friends outside of the show. One of the greatest anecdotes I've ever heard is how he showed up at the Stern show in full biker gear, just stood around silently making people nervous because they didn't know it was Richard. Like it was his own piece of performance art.

The Marissa Wompler episodes are always top notch and this one is now an all-time favorite. A time or two ago, the idea of a Womp up the Jamz podcast was thrown out there, I guess in jest, but it really, really has to happen. I couldn't tell if it's still just a joke or not after this episode, but getting a 404 error on the website was still disappointing. The Scott/Marissa dynamic is one of the best in all of Entertainment. New No-Nos was comedy gold. Bringing the Real Time theme song back each time something Paul just happened to say was declared a New No-No was great. Jerrod was hilarious and I really hope to hear him again on here.

Episode 31 — Birdemic: Shock and Terror LIVE!
Jefro replied to admin's topic in How Did This Get Made?
I know I'm very late to the game here, but I just saw Birdemic for the first time over the weekend and finally had to chime in with a few more awesome things I haven't seen mentioned: During the basketball game with Horny Friend, they can't believe the heat wave going on in the winter. Within the next few days (presumably), there's a pumpkin festival explicitly taking place in October. Natalie's modeling audition at a photo developing shop landed her a gig with Victoria's Secret as their "cover girl model." According to the newscast, the drivers in the eco-race will be "Hollywood celebrities." I'm glad someone else noticed the line in the Hanging Out With My Family song about the brothers trying to hook up. Yikes. When the guy was stealing the gasoline from Rod, he started walking further behind the van - in the opposite direction of his own truck. The lack of bird attacks for 46 minutes is actually a blessing. Before the incessant screeching and machine gun fire, this was one of the most enjoyable movie experiences I've had in a long time but the noise made it really, really hard to sit through. When I inevitably rewatch this movie, I'll have to stop it after the first shots of exploding birds divebombing gas stations. -
It seems like "dick" was ushered in as a slang term for penis in the exact same way that Maria used "The Suzie" for vagina. Just a bunch of men uncomfortable with the clinical term for their ding-dongs.

The only version of Wipeout! I enjoy was performed by Ska Talkerman in episode 148 of Comedy Bang Bang. Best surf song of all time. Beachfront PROPERTY!

My favorite lyrics to the Would You Rather? theme song used to be "Shut the fuck up, we're listening to the Would You Rather? theme" but I sincerely hope Bobby Moynihan Talk keeps going. I actually loved how early Adam Pally was called out on his character so he was gradually able to joke in his own voice, just using Bro when something called for it. Great episode, but I was kinda sad for Scott when Would You Rather? completely fell apart. I'm sure he'll be fine.

Gotta say, there's no reason to fear boarding the Jepsen train too early when it's being driven by Justin Bieber and that song was released last September. Before the song in Kulap's chart started playing, I totally thought it was going to be Carman, the Christian music guy, and I was taken aback. I slowly remembered seeing them on SNL once that was mentioned and it never ceases to amaze me how nearly all of SNL's musical guests are awful but made it on because they have some buzz I'm unaware of. But if it wasn't for Who Charted? and SNL, I guess I wouldn't even be as aware as I am. Old Person Be Hating.

I sure did think Howard was hyping Chief Queef at the end. A character created on this week's episode of Comedy Bang Bang has already started releasing music?

Okay, first of all, here's the story. I love that the audience has to be helped along with envisioning a 7'1" person by imagining little giraffes eating from banana trees. Immediately one of my favorite episodes - Jermaine's a great character, Gillian and Jordan definitely need to be on regularly. The story of the Aaliyah song in the car was hilarious. "I know you think you found an inconsistency in my story" leading to a hilarious explanation is Andy Dalyian in its greatness.

That was a really good, interesting interview with Bobcat Goldthwait. Can't wait to see the new movie, the premise sounds awesome. I can't think of any movie from 2009 that I liked more than World's Greatest Dad.

The Jared Leto story makes me think Rob was actually on to something with his jokes. Like maybe they were hitting too close to home, so what better way to throw Rob off the track than to befriend him? Keep your friends close and your enemies closer and your eyeliner even closer than that. I can't wait for PFT's next appearance on Who Charted? if there's going to be a Summer-related debate. Last year might have been the first time I had a summah since my childhood, thanks in some part to Howard's influence. So as much as I love PFT, he's going to be fighting an uphill battle.

Howard Kremer is a regular Cosmo Kramer when it comes to his product ideas. That's a good thing.

This was a really good episode, but dammit, now I have to see the Hunger Games and anything else that appears on Howard's Sight Unseen just to see how well it matches up. "Oooh, the amount of conflict!" I have a feeling he's spot on. And that music genre really, really is CW Rock. It's made to play over short commercials featuring starlets slowly standing and turning to face the camera, or to have the band make a special appearance at a beach party on 90210. I'm pretty sure I heard a lyric about "dancing like no one's watching" in that Naked and Famous song. It's all calculated.

This was a fine episode... hearing the intro, I was expecting a train wreck, but I wouldn't have felt anything was amiss if I had heard it cold. I can understand why Ed might have felt uncomfortable, going into character with zero preparation while having to yes-and a lot of completely weird suggestions that came out of nowhere - but he was game for it, and the end result was good. When Andy Daly comes in, it seems like there's a challenge to see just how well he can respond to insane premises that steer his characters out of control, and that seemed to be happening to Ed here. I guess some of it was an attempt at discovering what could be written onto a blank slate. Okay, enough of my amateur Monday Mid-Morning Improv Quarterbacking. Also, hearing some insight into the birth and development of Bob Ducca was interesting.

Was this the best episode of all time? Evidence: 1: "Beachfront property" punctuated by Wipeout, segueing into the Big Bopper. 0: Engineer Dustin inserting a "What's up, Hot Dog?" (I'm glad you're getting mic time here and on Two Charted). -1: "Can't do it on land." "You could, but it would be illegal." "Huh?" -2: The ending, my personal favorite being Hot Dog jumping with a doo-wop sting. Not to mention the window being replaced between each character. -3: New countdown system.

Man alive, I'm barely past the half hour mark and already have to nominate "Beachfront PROPERTY!!!" for some kind of end of the year award and from scanning the comments so far this is going to get even better. I could listen to Scott, Jason, and Andy for hours.
