    Yep, Matt Besser's the perfect kind of guest for this show. He knows it, he goes along with everything, he even came prepared. The bonus chart was pretty funny - the first four songs sounded the same to me, I imagine all the guys making those songs look exactly the same, then BOOM. 212.

    Wow, this episode's amazing. Brett Gelman's great, the new songs are funny (but like other posters, I still want old ones to show up), and the Kulap Knee-High-Socks conversation morphing into Nazis throwing dreidels onto swastikas to "get more Jews into this" is insane. Because that was the problem. I hope people don't read these comments before listening to the episode, cause that might have warranted a spoiler alert...
    PS, thank God more Eagleheart episodes have been made.

    Thanks for the awesome show! Can't believe it's been a full year because it still feels new and fresh, and the fun energy is always there. I can't argue with the #1 pick on the Howard's Questions chart, but my personal favorite goes something like "Have you ever won a soda contest?" Can't remember the guest who was asked, but stuff like that makes Howard my absolute favorite interviewer. Not in a laughing-at-him way, which I'm afraid this whole issue skirts around, but in a "Wow, nobody would ever think to ask that question" way. Any chance of an Austin Stories semi-reunion by having Chip Pope or Laura House on Who Charted?

    Okay, everyone beat me to it but yeah this is one of the best episodes ever. Kyle's always great on podcasts. Howard's gift-sex story was great, but the suite wrap-up in the end made it one of the greatest stories ever told, made even more incredible since it was previously alluded to. I know no one cares about people's musical opinions on here, but man alive those songs in the music chart might be the worst collection on the charts yet. And I hate to be this guy, but I guess I can because Howard corrected Kulap on Deerhunter(s) - Apollo 9 is an Adam Ant song, not Adam and the Ants. Huge thanks for the show for making me check out more of his stuff than I'd known before. Anybody else think the weird sound in Apollo 9 sounds like the Thwomps in Mario 64?

    Whenever I've heard the Don't Stop Or We'll Die stuff, I haven't gotten that it's music geared toward comedy at all, just people who happen to be involved in comedy making extremely earnest (that's the magic word for this discussion, right?) tunes. And what Reggie does is flat out mesmerizing, whether there are sometimes humorous elements or not. If every show was 100% comedy bits, zero music comedic or earnest, not everyone will enjoy every joke and character so it's all kind of irrelevant. I am glad I heard that Bangles' in-studio Hazy Shade of Winter, I know that much.
    Anyway, who else thinks this all might be leading up to an entire episode, or more, of non-comedy-based music? Ska Talkerman is totally capable of doing that, in kind of a Scharpling-esque fit of obstinance, but I guess I'm leaning more towards the earlier posted sentiment that if he's even aware of people's complaints they'll just roll off him and he'll keep doing what he's doing. It's worked so far. We'd ALL rather have What's Up, Hot Dog? take back its rightful place at the top of each episode, but he's willing to relegate it to memorialization in a segment that predates it. We just have to be thankful we get that much.

    Everybody was really, really good on this episode! I hope David Wain does make it onto Who Charted? pretty soon... Margaret would also have a lot to add to it. I agree with Sheldon, that improvised song was pretty impressive and had a really good groove. I guess this appearance by Dov was slightly less rapey than his other, so that's a plus.

    Great episode! Episodes like this are my favorites, when everyone's just casual and effortlessly funny. Bobby's been my favorite cast member on SNL since he started with that weird waiter sketch and I wish he was featured more. I'm sure Jenny Slate can easily end up with a huge voice over career.

    Thanks for this episode! Eddie's always a favorite. I never would have thought character work would go so well on Who Charted? but it was pretty great. I guess because Eddie (and occasionally Howard) slipped in and out of character and it was self conscious... I don't think an entire episode with anybody in character would float my boat. Enough of my analysis!

    Glad to see I'm not the only person reminded of Brody episodes with this one. Andy won me over with his Maroon 5 analysis, though, cause it's 100% accurate down to the Train comparison. I'd throw in Five for Fighting, too, if they still exist. Oh, but now as I listen, he's trying to walk it back...
    Anyway, I try not to add negativity to Earwolf (though I guess I passive-aggressively did so at the beginning here). But for those who complain about people's complaints about free media: imagine your neighbor brings you blueberry muffins every week, just a nice thing to do. After awhile, she starts using a different recipe. They're still good, you love blueberry muffins, but there's something just a little off and you think you can put your finger on it. You fell in love with the original. You really wouldn't wonder why they changed just because they're free? You wouldn't ever, ever ask why? It's not from a negative place, it's not complaining, it's not entitlement. No one feels they have the right to dictate what anyone else's show is, and saying you miss something doesn't do that.

    Andy Richter's always one of my favorite podcast guests. He's just a lot of fun. Janitor Joe should make some more Earwolf appearances. I've gotta agree with the consensus - I miss the number chorus at each item and prefer hearing the mystery of the final chart unravel before the guest. It's not like these make or break the show, though. Howard + Kulap + great guest = must-listen podcast no matter what the format might be. Wow, I hope that doesn't come off as sounding too sycophantic. Forgive me if it is replayed somewhere (I'm listening to the episode as I type), but I'd like to hear a clean version of the movie theme cover cause it sounded pretty great.

    Basically a perfect episode. My only disappointment was the lack of Adam's Gerry character popping in with a "Hey guys!" Feels like a backhanded compliment to say the show has been particularly great for the past few weeks, implying that it wasn't great before. It was, it's just that the recent character-based improvs have made me laugh more than ever. Maybe just because I prefer the characters built from the ground up, evolving in real time, to the celebrity-impression-based improvs. Too much of my internal monologue now! Keep up the great work! And I really do love the games, too - they're often my favorite segments. Things have been hilarious enough for me that I don't feel I'm missing out.

    When I got up this morning and saw that PFT was the guest, it immediately made my day. Opening the episode, seeing it was nearly an hour and a half long made it even better. Right out of the gate, Paul's background laughter at the nitpick comment confirmed this was gonna be great. (Sorry, math rock aficianado).

    I hope Gillian becomes a regular guest, because she fit in extremely well from start to finish. Andy Daly cannot be topped when it comes to the character improvs. I don't know what this says about me, but I'm actually relieved every time the suicidal streak remains intact, just under the wire at the end of his interviews. Can't wait for Andi to return as the all-seeing dragon! Best plug theme so far, too! Now, more than ever, we cannot forget "What's Up, Hot Dog?" and I don't think any of the other themes address this. It is the reason for the plugs season.
