I think this is a common misconception about HH that gets people scared of listening! 90% of the stuff the hardcore fans are posting aren't really in jokes. In fact Id say the show requires very little knowledge of the handful of running gags since it all stems from a vibe rather than some "lore". Most of what people are posting is just nonsense in the vein of the shows tone.

It takes a little while to acclimate to, for sure , but once you do, whoa boy. It's hard to pick some eps since the episodes with the strongest pre interview bits aren't necessarily the eps with the best interviews! Id say episode 5 with PFT is great throughout, so is the John Cochran Ep and the most recent one with Kumail. Scott Aukerman and co ep is legendary, as is "Sean and Hayes our closest friends" The Erin Gibson episode has a great interview, so does the Gracie helbig episode.

Are you kidding? Sean and Hayes were the best part of the episode by far. Those guys only know one speed and one direction, 100 miles per hour to your funny bone. If anyone who enjoys Comedy Bang Bang isn't also listening to Hollywood Handbook they're messed up in a bad way.

I agree with almost all of this except I really liked Womplers birthday and Solo Bolo had its moments. Feel like people are always voting for sequels of Classic eps or eps with the most famous guests because they're more recognizable Also it doesn't even seem like Weirder Scott has flawless taste in CBB eps! Adam Pally as bro was brilliant both times, and I was sad Andy wasnt treated to a third bro sesh. Scott and Andy are giving bro/Pally so much unfair hate, scott even bashed the inclusion of Part II in another best of! So un-chill, bro. And Hee Hee was a masterpiece! Id take it over any of the more popular high concept episodes from 2014. That's just me though, I love LAUGHTER.
