How has this not even been mentioned yet? It's such a classic. And such an epic fail at attempting something edgy and sexy.

Episode 70 β Gymkata: LIVE!
CapricaSixSixSix replied to JulyDiaz's topic in How Did This Get Made?
This was one of the few films from HDTGM that I actually couldn't sit through, and I'm quite the movie masochist. I agree with June in that gymnasts are incredibly fit, but something about watching gymnasts bothers me. Like their legs are independent beings from their bodies. -

A good read about 4Chan and other internet stuffs is Cole Stryker's "Epic Win for Anonymous" Great episode as always Jake. -
Episode 68 β Over The Top: LIVE!

Damn, the insufferable actor who played Mike Hawke(s) had a pretty impressive resume even before this film. http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0578903/?ref_=tt_cl_t5 -
Each episode is better than the next...favorite part: Beverly: Do you want to have kids? Steve: No, I don't want to come home from date night and find my baby-sitter punching herself in the pussy

Episode 7 β A Crazy Moment in Phishtory
CapricaSixSixSix replied to Brett Arnold's topic in Analyze Phish
I don't think I need a new format for this. Just Harris being really hopeful as he picks a song to play and then Scott inevitably saying "stop. stop. enough." never gets old. I, too, like the snarkiness that Scott seems to let come out in these eps. Also- for a sec I thought the guy from Jacksonville was T.J. calling in from prison. -
Episode 65 β Howard the Duck: LIVE!

"reverse Flowers for Algernon". I love you K-Shaal. -
Fun fact: I have the same birthday as Wompler. I wonder if we can have a double pool party? I'll bring Reardon.

I loved the Jackass show/movies, but HATED when they pulled pranks and unwilling participants- especially the one that Drew was involved in. Good for him for not having any of it.

Fred Stoller has been one of the best guests so far. Would love to see him back for a "so bad it's good" movie.

Episode 218 β The 4th Anniversary Extravaganza!

WOMP UP THE JAMZ! I listen to podcasts while I swim and I swallowed pool water many times during this episode. [A whole stomach full of pool water.] Just a minor detail, but I love that MTJ guessed "Johnny Hates Jazz" as one of the 90s bands. -

That was Kubrick-ian. -

It actually really bothers me when an actor bashes a film they made, especially a high-profile actor like Sylvester, who clearly had his CHOICE of films to do. Just own it. Or don't say anything and move onto the next one. I guess the previous year's "comedy" didn't do it for him? http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0102603/ Roger Ebert hated a lot of films, in fact, he filled a whole book with them [Your Movie Sucks] but what I love most about him is that he hates films that insults the intelligence of the audience. I've also noticed that everyone is checking themselves when they start to interrupt one other, which I appreciate. -
Here in San Francisco, drag queen Peaches Christ often does a show called "Night of a 1000 Showgirls" at the Castro Theater with a drag recreation at the beginning- she emerges from a volcano and everything. Then literally anyone who want to give a lap dance to anyone in the crowd is welcome, and the the 1000+ person audience shouting back at the movie. It's one of the most amazing experiences I've ever had. No bad movie has ever been "too done" before, especially when our favorite trio hasn't done it yet. And I would LOVE to hear what June has to say.

Shout out to Beverly Ginsberg for coining "Comedy Bing-Bong". [No, not the Ginsberg you're thinking of.] The "It's been..." in the Faurvel voice almost made me drive off the road.

Episode 51 β Old Fashioned Kitchen Timer
CapricaSixSixSix replied to admin's topic in Ronna & Beverly
I really hope the usual lack of comments on the R & B forum doesn't mean that people aren't listening or appreciating it. The commitment to character and backstory is truly outstanding. I also hope that it continues on a weekly basis, a new ep is the highlight of my week. A friend of mine got accepted to Arizona State and my first thought was "I wonder if he'll run into Rochelle", forgetting for a moment she's fictional... -
Episode 31 β The Professionals

Natasha's right, I'd also like to get up on Henry Rollins in that clip. -
So bummed I missed the live episode! Just came to post once again how brilliantly hilarious R&B are. I hope there are more live podcasts in the future, loved how they dealt with the real time questions. . I also love their mentioning of the tech people in the room. Of course there can't be young people in the room without these two giving them unsolicited advice.

Watching it now in preparation. Posh is actually the most dull and least talented, ironic how she's the one still in the spotlight. Also, this moment in the Olympics:

I liked Ginger Spice because she had the best clothes, especially in the Spice Up Your Life video (that spiked headband!) I vaguely recall that when they first came out, she was named Sexy Spice, but it was later changed? Did I dream that? I was in college when they first got big, but believe me, people there still went crazy for them. Including Britney, N'Sync and Backtreet Boys. The late nineties were a confusing time.

Just like the Maxwell House Haggadah, Ronna and Beverly should become a staple of the Passover from here on out.

I actually think Wompler and Traci would get along. Wompler is definitely the alpha of the two, and I think Traci would be ok with being a more subdued sidekick/henchwoman. Shelby was the best. When she started describing Mrs. Doubtfire, I nearly drove off the road.

I'm really torn! The Spice Girls were just fun pop music- "Spice Up Your Life" and "Stop" are pretty catchy, and I say this unironically. Not that I'm against hearing this group tear this film apart.
-
The Sklar Bros are always so damn enjoyable. I still can't tell their voices apart, and probably never will.

Episode 28 β VHS Nostalgia
CapricaSixSixSix replied to admin's topic in The Fogelnest Files with Jake Fogelnest
My heart burst with joy even before I listened to this- i was lucky enough to see Room 237 and it will probably be my favorite film of the year. Rodney was right- by the end I was semi-convinced that Kubrick did fake the moon landing. I wish more movies got the "Room 237" treatment. I know this podcast is under the comedy section - and it's damn funny - but it's become so much more than that. it's been a celebration of why pop culture is the fabric of society. I am so stoked that there will be more documentary filmmakers in the future. Damn, that KNBC news teams are pros- I would have been sh*tting my pants. And then to go back on the air an hour later to report it? Total pros.
