Dunno if anyone will go back and read this, but I just thought it would be good to respond. I was wrong. To answer greggy, no I didn't listen to the whole episode before I posted and that was my biggest fault. Had I let it finish I probably wouldn't have posted at all. Even before the episode was over I was already feeling like I jumped the gun. To Matt Besser, I appreciate the clarification. The tables were really turned on this one. I thought I was explaining "wonk", but instead I learned a term I'd literally never heard before. Can bet I wont forget wump or mug wump anytime soon. Thank you for that. I love this podcast.

Actually he said wonk, which means "A person who takes an excessive interest in minor details of political policy." I hear it all the time, but then again I watch MSNBC (yeah yeah liberal). Rachel Maddow loves that word, especially when reffering to Ezra Klein. Mugwumps is an interesting thing to bring up, but doesn't relate at all on this one.

OK.. Andy Daly and Sklars, I like you guys, but if you have any chance to read this please do.. because I'm about to tell you something important. 'Would you please instruct that renter Ryder truck, etc' was not some bullshit blow-off non-story. If you remember in 1996, there was this thing called the Murrah bombing that killed 168 people in Oklahoma City, where I live. I lost friends and family, I saw the twisted wreckage, and if you've ever been so close to a terrorist attack, you know it's not funny in the slightest fucking bit. It's only funny to people miles away that want to poke at it because it's controversial. The fact that it was suggested that it was to the tune of Oklahoma was either doubly insulting, or very unfortunately plucked from the subconscious. Seriously. Would people be saying 'too tsunami' if they lost their grandparents in it? Fuck no. So let's have a little respect. I believe in comedy without limits, but don't be one of those assholes that literally will poke fun at dead children. KNOW what you are making fun of, or don't touch it with a 10 foot pole.

Episode 27 — Twilight Breaking Dawn Pt 1
Alan342 replied to admin's topic in How Did This Get Made?
I gotta agree with BenV, I normally think she's hilarious and spot on, but her obvious love for these movies and her explanation of things like that really made me go whaaaaa? I was waiting the whole time for her to say, just kidding you guys, it totally sucks. -
It's crazy how taste can differ so much. I'm a fan of the show, and Andrew up there said the last Brody ep was his favorite.. he's clearly a fan of the show as well, and yet we couldn't be further apart in opinion. I will say in all fairness, this episode was waaay better than his last appearance (my absolute least favorite), but when guests are kind of overbearing like Brody, Andy Kindler, couple others.. I just find myself really struggling to even get through. My favorite parts are typically Howard related. The weird questions he asks, and the summations. Just love it. Whenever there is a guest like this, it kind of overpowers the general vibe of the episode and turns it into something that is unfamiliar and less funny. While it might be funny to some people surely, it's not my cup of tea ya know? So anyway, with no offense meant to Brody I have to cast my vote for the never have him back again side (along with Kindler, please god). I could list an insane amount of favorite guests, there have been some real comic geniuses passing through the Who Charted? halls. So many great people that it makes me wonder how certain folks get to come back so often. I think they are probably personal friends in normal life, or just readily available for recording. So I hate to even say this and offend but.. Either way, this is getting too long.. In summation! You catch that? My point is, I love the show. It's literally my favorite podcast or I wouldn't speak up about it at all, but guests like this just distract so much, and it does surprise me that opinions differ so much. I realize we can't have Sarah Silverman every week, but it seems like the guest really decides whether or not the ep will fall into greatest hits or safe-to-pass-on, and I just have to opt for the former. A solid 9/10th of these things are awesome, and the few others are hardly listenable.. with no fault to Howard, Kulap, or the wonderful sound guy and producers etc. I'll come back every week, I'll just occasionally be bummed out when I see a certain few guests' pictures smiling at me from the home page, as if to say, better luck next week! Anyway, don't hate me cause I'm beautiful. One mans opinion.

I agree Matt and Ted and others, I've listened in on this show periodically when the topic interests me. Sometimes it's great, sometimes it's just alright.. but this one really knocked it out of the park! Love Sarah Silverman especially, but everyone tonight was really hitting the right notes.

+1 about the manners of this board! I'm really surprised, it's cool that everybody is really allowed an opinion. In response to Dustin, I do think Kindler is probably a blast to be around in person. Kulap was laughing a ton, but so much of it seemed visual and it was very bombastic you know? I think he plays to the people in the room like a stand up comic, and wants to fill the space and project a lot of energy. It isn't that it's bad.. clearly, lots of fans speaking up! But I can just say that for an episode of Who Charted?, for me, I'd opt for a Suit McGoo or.. jeez, so many great names. Sarah Silverman, Rob Corddry, Zach Galifianakis, Brian Posehn, Richter, Benson, Besser, Tom Lennon.. on and on and on. What a great show! My issue with Kindler is the same one I had with Brody Stevens a while back if that makes any sense. I remember thinking it was just too much, but likewise there was a lot of praise for that episode too. Different strokes! We all have preferences and I'm still coming back every week.

First off, I apologize for this comment because I know negative comments don't usually go over well. It's always a futile thing to say you don't like somebody, because if a person has appeared on the show multiple times.. odds are that person is a friend of Howard & Kulap, or otherwise got a good reaction from the listeners the first time around. That being said, I really don't like Andy Kindler. I'm sorry to say that, but I just don't find him funny. I think having him on as the first guest since the Funny Or Die thing is especially bad, because he doesn't follow the flow of the show. If I was a new listener, I wouldn't know what the hell is going on. Andy is loud, random, and visual. He really tries to fill the room, and all those things are probably great for stand up. I just think it's headache inducing on a podcast like this. Sorry. I tune in for Howard & Kulap, I love em! And most of the time the guests are amazing. Seriously, if you are a new listener, check out the archive. You'll love it.
