Some lady found these audio tapes from the 70s about teaching children to grieve - they are extra creepy. She added the animations in recent years and now they are extra creepy/awesome. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M6BIU3UkI7w -

That bot video is exactly how bots are supposed to work. I think it's legit. It's a bummer because it's a really interesting premise too. Chat bots record and store records of chat with humans as their memory. They then weigh the possible responses they could generate based on the likelihood of 1) the response as a possible response to the last message and 2) the response as potential to extend the conversation. When people are talking to chat bots, they bring up random stuff like unicorns and whatnot. The bots then learn to bring up these topics as they tend to generate more questions and extend the conversation. It makes conversation with bots really stupid, because we're having a conversation with humans who are talking to robots. It's being parroted back at us.

Episode UCB1 — BONUS EPISODE – Ask the UCB? – The UCB Philosophy
andyboyan replied to admin's topic in improv4humans with Matt Besser
Matt & Ian, I am a total flyover (WA & MI). Have been my whole life. But ever since your TV show I have been a fan, up to this day listening to podcasts and following your stand up. This episode was so great to hear how and why you guys do what you do. I love weird comedy, and it's nearly impossible to get here in the middle, so when you guys do some background on your school and vision and theater and everything, it is truly inspirational. Additionally I'm a media professor who gives students the best/worst advice to follow their talents and actually move to LA/NYC if they want to be in the entertainment industry. I'll be doing all I can to send all of my best to UCB. Thanks for podcasting in general, but a special thanks for this ep. (finally posted on the forums because of it - also it helped me remember to buy your standup).
