I think it's also that Kulap has become such an expert at reining Howard in. She's good at challenging him when he goes on tangents (e.g., 'makeemups'). She's basically a fountain of positivity when he starts going anti.

Episode 8 — Pop

I agree with the Scotts on the Paul Epworth remix of Ordinary Love. -
This would require me to give money and time to this movie again, something I will never do.

Mary Shelly's Frankenstein (1994)
seanotron replied to AmberAllen's topic in Bad Movie Recommendations
This movie was so bland & boring that I had remembered it being a made-for-TV deal, but the internet tells me it was actually released theatrically, which kind of blows my mind.- 1 reply

Episode 7 — Zooropa
seanotron replied to JulyDiaz's topic in U Talkin' Talking Heads 2 My Talking Head
I assume it has to be super boring for them, because IIRC Achtung Baby is the point where Bono & The Edge were like, 'Hey guys, we don't really need you for the songwriting process, can you come back later?'. -
Episode 7 — Zooropa

For whatever flaws Pop may have, I feel like it's the last interesting U2 album. They were at least trying something different and going outside their comfort zone with that one. Everything after that just sounds like U2 by-the-numbers to my ears. I know people like 'Beautiful Day' and it was a big comeback anthem for them, but it's also the point where they transitioned to the Dad Rock category in my brain. -
Episode 6 — Achtung Baby

(oops, wrong episode) -
Do we mean guest or guest host (as in standing in/replacing Paul, Jason or June)? Because if it's the latter, I'm honestly not interested. This show works because of those three, and I'd rather have a longer duration between episodes than try to stuff someone else in there. It's just not the same when one of them is missing. If we're just talking guests, there used to be a forum for that but for some reason they got rid of all the sub-forums (except for Bad Movie Recs). But I'd love to see any of the MST3K guys/gals on the show. I'd love to see St Clair & Lennon come back, as Pluto Nash is one of my favorite episodes.

It could do all of those things, but I'm still sure it will also be incredibly dumb.

I actually enjoyed Divergent. The premise is like the most absurd social engineering taken to a ridiculous extreme, but it was kind of fun. And no love triangles! So bonus points for that.
-
I kind of loved how dark the Guy and a Goose episode was.
-
Or they could just wait a few months for the theatrical release of The Purge 2. It looks like it might just raise the stupidity to even greater heights.
-
Yes! This movie is so insane and terrible.

Well, I mentioned Labyrinth because The Witches is the last movie Jim Henson worked on before he died. In spirit I'd say it's closer to Gilliam, just because Dahl could have a nasty sense of humor and there's some deliberately mean/gross stuff in there.
-
I figured the gif was appropriate since they're both Roald Dahl adaptations. Personally, I think The Witches is the best adaptation of any of his books, even though he infamously hated it. As for how much an adult will appreciate it now...well, if you like stuff like The Adventures of Baron Munchausen or Labyrinth it's probably up your alley.

Now look, we all know that Sidney Poitier's Ghost Dad is a cinematic masterpiece.

Also featuring Joe Don Baker, just in case there was any doubt about the depths of badness this movie contains.

HOW DARE YOU This movie is awesome.

Episode 6 — Achtung Baby

Another Pop fan! I knew I couldn't be the only one. It sounds like Saucerman is really going to trash it when they get to it. -
This episode was a delight

Anyone else catch the Total Riff Off on National Geographic? It worked better than I expected it to.

Does this mean we'll find out that the Nun was actually dead the whole time?

I'm not religious, so my issues with the movie are more as a fan of movies than anything else. I do have a theology studies background, so I guess you could say I noticed 'continuity errors'. But mostly - rock ents, unobtanium, environmental themes that made Avatar seem subtle, etc.
