Oh it was a bit of a letdown for sure, I'm just saying it's not really HDTGM-worthy.

Strangers With Candy is a cult TV show. It absolutely crosses the line of good taste, but it's very much on purpose. It's Pat is just an unfunny movie based on a sketch that's funny in 5-minute form. The Strangers With Candy movie drags a bit, but it's nowhere near that level of boring.

I would still very much enjoy a consensual sexual encounter with Winona Ryder.
-
No way. Everything about Strangers with Candy is on purpose.

Sun Kil Moon is Mark Kozelek, also known for Red House Painters. Dude is an AMAZING singer/songwriter. His original stuff is great but he's definitely known for his covers. He does an epic version of Silly Love Songs.

I think by that point there was so much deliberate campiness going on because they realized no one bought Roger Moore as a ruthless killing machine. I still say Die Another Day is waaaay worse. Madonna cameo, guys. MADONNA CAMEO.

I just saw this on Best Buy's $4.99 deals this morning, and I was reminded of how cuckoo bananas it is. The gang really should take this one on.

Ooh, I'll have to look into that one, I've never heard of it

The only good thing about The World is Not Enough is that epic opening boat chase. Everything after that is terrible. Well, the song by Garbage is alright, but other than that...honestly, I couldn't tell you what exactly Sophie Marceau is doing in that movie, but whatever it is she should never do it again. I feel bad for Brosnan because he wasn't a bad Bond and I know he wanted that role so badly. He was just burdened with terrible scripts.
-
Dalton was basically Daniel Craig 1.0, but people just weren't ready for it. Unfortunately for Brosnan, he came in off that backlash and they went back to the corniness of the Moore years (except in Goldeneye, but that's an anomaly in the Bond series for a lot of reasons).

She directed it, so you'd think she would have known what she was getting into.
-
You forgot the most WTF element of this movie - the Madonna cameo. So so bad...
-
Shelby brought it up on a December episode of CBB but Scott shooshed her indicating it was coming soon, so fingers crossed.

True confessions time: I kinda love this movie. Even the wacky Smiths cover by former Psychedelic Fur Richard Butler. Fairuza Balk, Neve Campbell, Skeet Ulrich...it's like the 90s vomited all over this movie.

This podcast is for fun times, and if you watch Antichrist you're gonna have a bad time.

I think Jodorowsky's Dune is one of those legendary aborted projects that we're all better off never seeing happen. Based on everything I've seen (concept art, etc.) it wouldn't really have been Dune so much as a fever dream put on film. I mean, he wanted Orson Welles and Salvador Dali in the cast. If you were going to do Dune in movie form, you'd have to go the Peter Jackson/LOTR route and split the books into multiple movies. Just the first book could easily fill 3 movies (the book is actually kind of broken into 3 sections anyway).

Part of the problem is they made Lynch cut it down from nearly 4 hours down to 2, and because the plot is pretty damn complex the film becomes mostly incoherent as a result. I still don't know if it would work for the podcast...what version would they do? The theatrical? The extended cut? I could see Dune driving Zouks to madness. But can we talk about the soundtrack for a minute? Toto & Bryan Ferry! It's freakin' epic. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z6BscgIzz8g

Jerry, they should use you as a pull quote for the DVD. 'JerryCanada says Assault on Wall Street is 'shockingly not that bad'

Howard has really turned a corner on Hulu Plus. Or perhaps they finally got to him?

The Running Man (1987)

Jason was brought in to rewrite the original screenplay, and then they brought in two other guys to rewrite it again. It's never a good sign when a movie is rewritten that many times. Who knows how much of Jason's stuff even made it into the final product. I'm guessing very little.

This is a Paul WS Anderson movie that features Christopher Lambert. That right there instantly qualifies it as HDTGM material.
-
Last time Scotty was on he shared the fact that KuKu also mixes up the lyrics to 'Radioactive' as 'Ready for action', so maybe it's an Imagine Dragons thing.
-
Not the best movie (Emma Roberts was....oof, really bad) but I don't think it's HDTGM material.

The first X-Men and X2 are pretty consistent, but then you get to X3 and it's like nah, let's not even bother with trying to make sense. Then this movie comes along and suddenly Sabretooth is a different guy that looks nothing like he did, and he's Wolverine's brother. I'll be interested to see how Singer tries to tie it all together in Days of Future Past (then again, maybe he'll just ignore it or blame it on timey-wimey stuff).
