Yup, that's JLC. Paul mentions that she had an uncredited cameo. -

Couple of random bits: A)I was glad you guys mentioned the extremely understaffed hospital. That's also a thing in Halloween 2. After the events of the first movie, they take Jamie Lee Curtis to a hospital that is also curiously understaffed (there's like 1 doctor and 3 nurses, and I think all of them die before it's over). B)After Doctor Wantstofuck gets it on with Ellie, they show a shot of him sleeping in the chair. Why would he sleep in the chair at that point? Does she have the jimmy legs? C)When they come to take Mrs Gutt(er)man to the factory, they don't even take her in an ambulance. It's just an unmarked white GMC van. D)It's clear Conal Cochran knows who Tom Atkins is all along, so why does he go on with the charade of pretending he doesn't? Because it's funny, I guess? E)I was surprised no one mentioned the complete lack of chemistry between the two leads. Or the fact that Tom Atkins is at least 30 years older than every woman he sleeps with. F)If there's a curfew at 6pm, why does the liquor store stay open for Tom Atkins to buy his bum-sharing booze? G) Also no mention of the fact that Cochran turns into a powdered donut after he's hit with the Stonehenge laser (right before he disappears) -

When he's giving his villain speech he actually says, "We don't decide these things, you know, the planets do. They're in alignment and it's time again." So basically horrible things are going to happen no matter what, and he's just decided to have a good laugh before it all goes to hell. -

Oh I agree. I don't mind Pete at all but I get why he grates on some.

That's why I'm kind of glad they didn't do that one. SO UPSETTING. -

Anyone feeling frustrated at Pete's appearance today should just listen to this clip of Chelsea Peretti joyously describing in great detail how she would murder and bury Pete( r ). http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4hY85v9e-hc

I love the Fifth Element, but it is absolutely ridiculous and chock full of plot holes. Not to mention the fact that the central figure in the story is basically just space magic. As for TOS episodes where the Enterprise enters an atmosphere, 'Tomorrow is Yesterday' immediately springs to mind. Not only do they spend a fair amount of time in our lower atmosphere in that episode, but they fly through a black hole, which I imagine would be considerably more difficult than spending some time in an ocean. Though I should point out that dammit, I am not, in fact, an astrophysicist.

The very first Nightmare had some legit scares, but then came the uber campy Part 2 and all the messes that followed and it just turned into a joke. Though I am a big fan of Wes Craven's New Nightmare, not because it's scary necessarily (though parts of it are definitely unsettling) but because it's just a more interesting concept. But that eventual decline into self-parody seems to happen to all these horror franchises. Both Craven and Carpenter kind of hated the idea of sequels, and it's too bad the studios didn't listen to those instincts.

Halloween III: Season of the Witch (1982)
seanotron replied to seanotron's topic in Bad Movie Recommendations
That is true. He didn't want to do the 2nd movie, but the success of the first meant he was pushed into it. Then he flexed some muscle and tried to do something different here, which clearly did not quite work. -
Somewhere in the world Stacy Keach's ears have just lit on fire.

I didn't even need to watch it to ask that question.

Earwolf needs to stop giving up on their podcasts!!!
seanotron replied to tim atkin's topic in General Earwolf
I still want to know why Earwolf canceled Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles. I know it had a rough patch in that 2nd season, but I really loved that show. -
Shanley's screenwriting output is wildly unpredictable. How the guy that wrote Joe Vs the Volcano, Moonstruck & Alive also managed to write The January Man, We're Back & Congo is quite a puzzler.

They did talk about that part, it's where they're joking about Laura Linney having such good aim and then someone points out that the missiles are heat-seeking.
