Willis is an excellent actor, but like many excellent actors he still picks turkeys from time to time. And sadly, this was Sidney Poitier's last appearance in a movie.

The Running Man (1987)

As long as they do it in the spirit of Crank or Punisher, because this movie (ridiculous as it is) is super awesome. -
There's also this one http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GSqnFxVaIx4

Arnold's commentary for his movies is absolutely hilarious. He simply spells out exactly what is happening, with absolutely no insight of any kind. 'Dis is da paart where I swung da sword and dat guy died. Hahaha!' He also talks about how hawt the ladies were. http://www.youtube....h?v=ncR2_pnzngM

The Conspiracy Wiki on this is down. CLEARLY THE WORK OF THE ILLUMINATI.

I was totally going to post that gif. Even better is Rihanna's friend just to the left. I have to assume Rihanna is also thinking, 'Damn, I'm glad I passed on this.'

I think Conan the Barbarian is a pretty terrible movie. At least the 2nd one seemed to realize it was a terrible movie and had a sense of humor about it. But I know I'm in the minority opinion on that one. I will agree that Red Sonja is just awful, though.

I'd rather watch Elektra on a non-stop loop than subject myself to either Fantastic Four movie ever again. Those movies are war crimes.

Movies that aren't bad but would be good for the show.
seanotron replied to Syme's topic in Bad Movie Recommendations
I like it, but I like it as its own thing rather than a real adaptation of Dune. Lynch added a lot of odd & unnecessary stuff (the heart plugs, making the Weirding Way a gun basically, and that ending - oh boy, that ending), but I still credit him with creating a reasonably coherent movie. It's not like Jodorowsky was going to pull of coherent. And like you said, Dune has such dense world-building that I don't think any 2 hour movie was ever going to do it justice. They'd have to do it Lord of the Rings style to have it make any kind of sense. The miniseries is totally worth watching, IMO. It is done on the cheap, but it kind of works. It's almost like watching a theater production of Dune. Some of the casting is off, but that was true of the Lynch version. I appreciated it for staying closer to the books in some aspects and just doing something completely different. -
Red Sonja didn't have Grace Jones, though! I know it's a fundamentally silly movie, but I kind of like it better than the first one. Plus it has Ursa! And Andre the Giant.

Yeah, that part where she stuck her face in that girl's ass and slapped it around (I think it was the tallest burlesque dancer lady?), it was just so...yikes, is all I could think of. Plus, wasn't there some hubbub in an interview a while back where she said she took that song because she 'just wanted something that sounded black' or something to that effect? It's weird.

People seem to be focusing on the 'Oh my god she's such a tramp!' part of Miley's performance (which is the boring part, performers at the VMAs have been doing that kind of thing for forever), but there was a weird racial component to it that made me ultra uncomfortable. I'm not smart enough to unpack it in a meaningful way, but I felt it. While watching it I felt like a living version of the Zouks 'WHAT IS HAPPENING' meme.

'And coming in at #5 is Lady Gaga with Applesauce!' 'It wasn't a joke! It wasn't even a joke!'

I think it's great that the guest hosts filling in for our beloved Ku-Ku all have long histories with Wie-Wie. Both April & Natty-legs bring out different sides of Howard. It's awesome!

The thing I love about this show is the balance of the 3 personalities. Jason is on the extremely cynical end, and has a tendency to hate almost everything. June, on the other hand, gives absolutely every movie a fair shake. She's kind of the Roger Ebert of the group. Paul is essentially the moderator who brings the two extremes together to balance them out. The three of them working in tandem is what makes it all work. That's why I think shows where one of them is missing don't work as well, even when they plug another guest into that spot. I also think that's why the show manages to appeal to sincerists, cynics and everyone in between. There's an entry point for everyone.

Once Upon a Time in Mexico (2003)

Actually, it's very much like that. It's not like Heston as a Mexican was any more plausible (it's been a punchline for a long time, like in Ed Wood). -

I don't dispute that a lot of people in Spain are basically white, but I'm pretty certain that still doesn't make Willem Dafoe Mexican. And it's not just that his character has a Latino last name, he's also doing a kind of wacky Mexican accent through the whole thing. -

Yeah, but Dafoe is from Wisconsin and is English, Irish, Scottish, French, Swiss and German (again, literally the whitest white guy ever). Playing a guy named Armando Barillo. And his daughter is Eva Mendes. It's an interesting casting choice is all I'm saying. -
This was a TV miniseries, IIRC. Also *super* boring.

At least the villain wasn't a giant Hellraiser baby face?

I enjoyed this but would be totally fine with the gang discussing it. Also, I don't think Morgan Freeman was going for campy so much as he was going for 'phoned in'. As in, 'OK, I'll show up but I'm not going to try or anything.'

I think you meant 'So good it's the best'.

I mentioned it up thread, but the story Simon told is actually pretty much true. He literally saw her in a magazine and tracked her down.

I will say it is nowhere near as bad as After Earth. After Earth was made of garbage (well, toilet paper).

I loved that he thought it could be built in secret.
