I love this movie! But it is absolutely worthy of discussion. Aliens come to Earth and crash in Geena Davis' pool because they're lonely and are fascinated by hairless human women. Features MTV's Julie Brown who also co-wrote the screenplay! Pre-fame Damon Wayans & Jim Carrey! It's also a musical...sort of! 'Cause I'm a blonde, yeah yeah yeah! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nsfU0I2Mqfs

Because when I think fencing, I think Eric Roberts! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RCcFSsnp8OQ Seriously though, there's a scene in this movie where they fence to disco music. Also includes b-movie master F Murray Abraham.

Runaway (Tom Selleck, Kirstie Alley, Gene Simmons)
seanotron replied to djempirical's topic in Bad Movie Recommendations
This would be a great choice for the show. Gene Simmons unleashes acid-spitting spiders and uses a gun with smart bullets that chase people. It's 80s scifi madness. -
I saw this in the theater because a girl I was interested in at the time wanted to see it. As I recall, this was a twofold mistake. Poor Piper, she really had to make her bones in some shitty movies.

I imagine that's just a reflection of the 80s, when we still had a lot of optimism about space exploration.

I feel like this falls into the same category as the Star Wars prequels or Indy 4 - it's been discussed to death. There's literally nothing left to say about it. I'd rather they find something that hasn't been dissected so thoroughly.

Bad Movie Recommendations Tournament of Gold
seanotron replied to therealjayknox's topic in Bad Movie Recommendations
Guys, the Star Wars Holiday Special isn't even fun to watch ironically. If you force our heroes to watch that thing, you will be worse than Hitler. Hitler! -
Starman is one of his best movies. No way that deserves the HDTGM treatment.

I think you're being very, VERY kind.

Let me start by saying that I love everyone in this movie. Krysten Ritter, Alicia Silverstone, Wallace Shawn, Amy Heckerling, Sigourney Weaver, etc. Normally, these are really talented, funny people. How these incredibly talented people manged to make such a miserably unfunny movie is a real mystery. By all accounts, this movie *should* be good - it reunites several Clueless alumni with their director, it's tackling a very trendy subject matter humorously, etc. This should be campy fun. It is not. It is horrible. The jokes never land and the whole thing feels like one of those cheapo direct-to-dvd movies like Transmorphers, but worse. I actually felt a profound sadness after watching this.

Malcolm does a terrible Romanian/Eastern European accent in this, it's quite a thing to take in.

The Return of the Living Dead (1985)
seanotron replied to stusaucier's topic in Bad Movie Recommendations
This movie can also be credited with several bits of zombie lore that would influence later movies, like eating brains and running zombies. -
Oh my, this is a real stinker. And disturbing. As I recall, he runs over the woman because his wife is giving him a blowjob, which given his size, I'm not sure how she even managed to do it.

I think that's what most people did think, which is why they in turn became so enraged after seeing this movie (Roger Ebert included). It should have been at least goofily enjoyable given the people involved, but instead it's kind of oppressively unentertaining.

Can't believe no one has posted the trailer yet. TERRIFYING. Worth noting that Mackenzie Astin is Sean Astin's half-brother.

I'm still waiting for "Methbender".

I don't remember Opportunity Knocks all that well, but I do remember feeling like it was a crappy knockoff version of Dirty Rotten Scoundrels.

The lead 'actress' in this movie looks a lot like the lead 'actress' from Soultaker.

"Two Princes" Watch: Chapter 1 (Inspired by the "On The Line" episode)
seanotron replied to PlanBFromOuterSpace's topic in How Did This Get Made?
I actually owned that soundtrack and it was a kind of time capsule of early 90s hits. Big Audio Dynamite, Suede, Toad the Wet Sprocket. And I think it might mark the very first appearance of Two Princes on a movie soundtrack, though I could be wrong. It's not a movie, but I remember an episode of The Sarah Silverman Program where Steve Agee finds Brian Posehn's iPod, and to his horror the only song on it is 'Two Princes'.- 8 replies

Well, also because the paparazzi in this are cartoonishly evil and put the celebrity and his family in increasingly more dangerous situations.

I'm totally behind this one. It is truly awful.

Wasn't there going to be a polling system of some kind? Whatever happened with that? -

It's a comedy that knows it's a comedy. The terribleness is on purpose. -

Yeah, this would work as a 'OMG THIS MOVIE IS AMAZING' episode. Because, ya know, OMG THIS MOVIE IS AMAZING.
