See, I feel like everyone is approaching this the wrong way. That scene is really funny. Honestly!

I was very entertained by Howard's belief that Kanye West was 'in' Daft Punk.

Just started listening, is this ep really 2 hours long? That's what the player is showing.

He's still great, though. I loved the last two episodes that have had him as the enemy. The Great Intelligence is apparently the 'big bad' for this half of the series.

Awesome movies are not immune from the HDTGM treatment. In fact, they often make for great episodes (Crank/Crank 2, Punisher, etc.).

I still had to make this because I did let out a hearty laugh when I heard it

I just remembered that Richard E Grant played the 10th Doctor in Curse of the Fatal Death, which explains why the Spice Girls tour bus is also a Tardis! /end nerd out

I definitely would have liked a more in-depth discussion of the Spice Girls' feminism, whether it was praise or critique. That's such an intrinsic part of their image and legacy that it was kind of weird to see it ignored or only briefly acknowledged.

I think #3 is partly right, but it was more of a Cool Britannia thing that sprung out of Britpop. It was a celebration of quintessentially British things. So the movie is just stuffed to the gills with famous British people for the hell of it, basically. Fry & Laurie are considered national treasures in the UK, so it's not surprising they'd be included (I'm pretty sure their show was off the air some time before this came out though).

I don't buy that. Given that reasoning, they'd have never done The Love Guru. Or All About Steve.

Who would they have to fear from this thing? Dana Carvey? Josh Brolin's dad?
-
Also worth noting that Damon Albarn of Blur/Gorillaz did the soundtrack. I was a big Blur fan back in the day, and that was the only reason I knew this existed at the time.

Wow, I missed that part. No way was From Justin to Kelly better than this. That's some serious crazy talk.
-
Sorry, I'm watching this right now and had forgotten some of the nutty dialog. 'Check out that refresh rate!' 'That has a 28kbps modem!' 'It does have a PCI bus' It's like someone just opened a PC repair guide and created dialog from it.

Also, I'd love to talk about why almost all of Lorraine Bracco's dialog seems to be ADR'd.

I have this weird image in my head that Jason lives in a Kaczynski-style shack in the woods somewhere with no electricity or contact with the outside world, and he has some secret exit that he covers with fake foliage. I totally get his disinterest in Twitter (I have one but never check it), but it seems like he's always being told about things going on in his own career that he should already know about. Between his comments here and St Clair's revelation on Whooch that he's super secretive about his address, I think I might be onto something.

I feel ya on that. I wish they'd engaged with it for what it was, rather than ridiculing silly plot points that were obviously meant to be silly. It seemed like only June really gave it a fair shot. That being said, this was still funny. I was highly amused by how angry Retta was for being asked to watch the movie.

It seems like this was another in a long line of bad scifi/horror pics that came out around that time. Event Horizon, The Relic, Mimic, etc.

This was really bad. I think turd describes it rather accurately.

This movie made no sense. It's basically a remake of the first one, with far less compelling/talented actors.

The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen (2003)

So the guy that did Zardoz couldn't understand Lord of the Rings? Really?
