Death Bed: The Bed That Eats

HDTGM's wheelhouse is mainstream releases, so I think you're exactly right there.

    Episode 127.5 — 5/10/13 TWO CHARTED 66

In fairness, they were both totally up front about the issues with that episode. Plus the live Who Charted's just tend to have a weird vibe overall (other than the Matt & Kim ep).

The Day the Earth Stood Still (2008)

Nah, he didn't have anything to do with the TV show. He wasn't even a producer. Just a 'based on' credit.

The Womp-Dog Rocked "The Office" Tonight

Jeez, I nearly peed myself with joy when St Clair appeared. She had nice chemistry with Ed Helms.
  5. I feel like The Happening really hated its audience, so turnabout is fair play.
  6. More like Buffy all the time!
  7. It's all in the approach. If I get an unsatisfactory meal while dining out I could throw the plate on the floor and ask the waiter why he served me diarrhea, or I could just let him know that the food was overcooked and ask if I could get something else.

    Crash (Paul Haggis)

Hey now, let's not smear Moulin Rouge by comparing it to Chicago. MR is fantastic.

    Superman Returns (2006)

To be fair, we've only seen Supers origin on the big screen once. And that was 35 years ago.

    Mean girls

This movie is great and I believe Jason & June are both on record as fans of it.

    Dirty Dancing 2: Havana Nights

Sagal can at least take comfort in the fact that anyone who has ever heard him speak would know he is incapable of writing something this stupid.

    Gooby

Yoinks! 'Hi, I'm Gooby, the molesting bear.'

The Day the Earth Stood Still (2008)

On the other hand, at least Emmerich appears to be a decent human being in his personal life. He donates a lot of money to charity, and specifically supports a number of women's rights organizations. Maybe that's some small consolation for his shitty movies?

The Day the Earth Stood Still (2008)

I dunno, M Night's been bombing for a while now and no one seems to care. I don't know that AE will break him. Emmerich's movies, on the other hand, make billions. I don't think one flop would hurt him, either.

The Day the Earth Stood Still (2008)

I have little hope for After Earth because it's an M Night joint. I'm pretty indifferent to the Smith children. Except for Willow's 'Whip Your Hair' song, which was auditory torture.

    Hemlock Grove

True Blood falls into the Spartacus category for me. The sex & violence is SO over-the-top it just loses me. I think I Netflix'd the first season and gave up. Sooooooookaaaaaaay!

    Lincoln: Vampire Hunter

This is one of those movies that is so deliberately stupid I just can't see it making for a very good episode.

    Enemy Mine (1985)

Me! It's easy to pick on it, but it's so well-intentioned.

The Day the Earth Stood Still (2008)

Ahhh I see. Well that makes...not sense, exactly, but more sense than 'Stop that global warming or we'll blow up Earth!'.

    The Help..... really?

As I recall there was also an issue in that the woman who wrote the book was sued by the real-life Abeline for basically taking her life's story and not compensating her in any way. I think it was thrown out because of a statute of limitations issue, but it kind of added an ugly undercurrent to the whole thing.

The Day the Earth Stood Still (2008)

I refused to see this because...well, hopefully for obvious reasons. In the original, Earth's wars threaten to spread to other planets and that's why Klaatu makes the threat. If this movie changes that to global warming then that is truly bonkers. 'Don't ruin the planet or we'll blow it up!'

    The Fifth Element (1997)

The soundtrack to this is actually really cool. It's by Eric Serra, who is a frequent collaborator with Besson and a really excellent composer. He also did The Professional and probably one of the most unique James Bond scores, Goldeneye.
