Wow. A montage set to the crappy Bon Jovi cover of Thin Lizzy. I definitely smell some stink potential on this movie.

I'm just referring to the 'digital backlot' aspect. This was the first of those to come out, and it definitely functioned as a 'proof of concept' for the studios.

True. I made the mistake of watching it when I was bored one day and it definitely played like a Syfy movie.

Even worse is Species 3, which features none of the original characters and manages to squeeze in even more sex/nudity.

Body of Evidence is definitely deserving of mockery. It's basically a crappy Basic Instinct knockoff. Plus it features Madonna & Willem Defoe engaging in graphic sex scenes whilst simultaneously having absolutely no chemistry.

You can also credit/blame it for stuff like 300 and Sin City.

I live about 1 hour from Sedona and it is indeed a beautiful place. Lots of loopy new age folks live there. Also millionaires.

Night of the Comet is actually a really good movie.

The thing is, this movie really does force you to ask the question, How Did This Get Made?

Ahh, now I could get behind this. It is a terrible movie filled with terrible acting. I have to assume the same person that hired Art Carney for the Star Wars Holiday Special was behind casting Wilford Brimley in this.

I don't think there's any guarantee that any of the original actors will appear in Episode VII. And whatever faults JJ Abrams may have, he's actually pretty good about using real sets and staying away from excessive/distracting CGI.

My niece made me take her to see this, and it honestly wasn't that bad. It's an almost beat-for-beat copy of the original, so It's just kind of pointless if anything.

I'm not sure it would be that funny, though. There's a point of diminishing returns when it comes to mocking the Star Wars Prequels. It's kind of like beating a dead horse.

There's really nothing left to say about the prequels that hasn't already been said.

This episode touched me in a bad place.

I never spent a lot of time researching the subject, but I always suspected that the ending was not part of the original script. It feels like something a studio exec came up with after wandering onto the set one day. 'Hey, you know what everyone remembers from the first POTA movie? That crazy ending! That's what this movie is missing. And you know what the best part of that ending was?' 'Well, the fact that Charlton Heston realizes that this is Earth, and that humanity had already destroyed itself...' 'No, no, no! The best part of the ending is it involves a national monument! We need an ending that involves a national monument!' 'Uhh, okay, well I guess...' 'The Washington Monument? No. Mount Rushmore? No, that's been done. Oh, I've got it! The Lincoln Memorial!' 'The Lincoln Memorial? Well, I guess we could come up with something...' 'Oh I've already got it! Mark lands on Earth and the Lincoln Memorial is an ape! Not just any ape, but Tim Roth's character!' 'But uhhh, we left him trapped in a broken spaceship with no fuel? How could he possibly...' 'It doesn't matter! Don't you see what a crazy mindfuck that ending will be?' 'That doesn't really make sense, though.' 'We've found our ending! Let Tim know.'

Candy's last movies always make me sad, because I think the health issues are really obvious. He rarely looked like he was actually enjoying himself. Though that might have been because the majority of his 90s movies were terrible, and he knew it.

I feel like if we were to ask Robert Rodriquez, this is the answer he would give us.

The crazy thing is this is a movie made by a Mexican director, with tons of Mexican actors, set in Mexico. Why have Willem Defoe, aka, The Whitest White Guy Ever as a Mexican drug lord? It works for reasons I can't explain (I freakin' love this movie), but it's an insane choice.

It's not awful, but it's not great, either. Ponderous and forgettable in a lot of ways. It also fetishized violence in a way that the comic never did that made me very uncomfortable, but that's a Snyder thing. The source material isn't above reproach, either. Anyone that thought the Squid from Outer Space was going to work on screen wasn't thinking it through. I don't think it would be a very fun episode of HDTGM, however.

Sky Captain actually had pretty solid critical reviews. It's sitting around 72% on RT. I hated it the first time I saw it in the theater, but I recently rewatched it and it wasn't as bad as I remembered. There's next-to-no plot, but it's basically an homage to 30s-era serials which were also pretty low on plot. It does have HDTGM favorite Bai Ling, though.

Captain America is actually one of the best of the Marvel films. Definitely not HDTGM material.

They recently played this on TV and I had forgotten how utterly wonky it was. I'd also forgotten it featured a young, brunette Naomi Watts.
