Episode 12 — Judd Apatow
gonzagylot00 replied to JulyDiaz's topic in By The Way, In Conversation with Jeff Garlin
He seems like such a nice, affable, guy on his show, but Jeff Garlin will straight up smash some windows if you piss him off. -
Wow, Kulap actually seemed to get a little pissed off there a couple of times. I can't blame her, even knowing their schtick, I'm pretty sure that Ronna and Bev would be able to piss me off in 5-10 minutes.

I can't help it. In my mind, Marissa is attractive.
-
Me too. She went full-on maniacal for a minute at the idea of slaughtering her friend, and REALLY wanted a response. I'd be willing to wager she was the world's most irritating little sister.

Podmass A/V Club

yup, and that's what's great about them But they reallly layed it on KP

Not the funniest episode ever, but there were portions that I enjoyed: -Hearing some comradarie between these two figures that may seem like they would dislike each other, or not associate with one another -Maron's little swipes at Scott, which the chocktaw called him out for -The Reimagining of the Matrix -I don't think it was contrived when Marc got wistful..... Scott succeeded!

Episode 7 — Zach Galifianakis

Of Demerest Shampoo? Fucking great takedown. -
One of the things I love about Ronna and Bev is how they get under the skin of their guests, even though the guests (ought to) know damn well what they are all about. This was a great example of that dynamic at play. Good of Mr. Pollack to stay generally affable, but there were times in the episode he seemed like he was gonna let them have very funny.

Like this: Then listen to a different podcast! -
Episode 5 — Mitch Hurwitz

I hadn't heard Mr. Hurwitz speak before. He actually sounds like he could of stepped right out of Arrested Development, what with his absolute need to have some form in the podcast. -
I know it's a comedy episode, but just for the purposes of general understanding, I feel like I have to point something out. Polyandry in India isn't something that empowers women. Rather, there is a "shortage" of women in parts of India, and in many cases after a woman marries a man (possibly an arranged marriage) she gets the unhappy surprise a year or two later that she'll also have to marry, and have sex with his brother/s. This shortage is due to women not being valued as highly in certain parts of this vast, diverse, country, and being aborted more frequently, or let to die as infants. It's not the woman's choice to have multiple husbands.

Oh my god, I just lost it during the Anthony Kedis getting Aids from a fucked duck segment. Jesus, waterfowl are nasty. Also, perfect PFT timing as always.

The "inappropriate" bachelor party activities story was so freaking hilarious. I was just cracking up on the treadmill. Two pieces of input: 1. I believe the groomsman was seeded upon. 2. If you don't want to get rid of Oprah, maybe consider a revamp of some sort?

Episode 202 — Philip Traumatic Seymour Disorder
gonzagylot00 replied to admin's topic in Comedy Bang Bang
Anybody still reading this thread? I'd love to know what the deal was between Thune and his neighbor. What did he record? Anyway, I liked this episode quite a bit, it always cracks me up when Scott plays an Asshole. -
I don't know man, I think misandrist is a bit strong. Cohen certainly has her feminist perspective, and her university degrees to make her feel confident about it, but I don't think she showed signs of hating men..... just not loving them, which is totally her right. I don't think any Earwolf podcast is going to get Sacha Baron Cohen, unless he mans up and goes on "How did this Get Made" for The Dictator. Even then, I intuit a little enmity towards him from various Earwolf hosts, there may be some sort of ax to grind there.

The prevailing theory in these forums is that Chris Gore was the worst guest, because he was just sort of sleezy in a not so funny way. Howard and Ku seemed icked out. You may be referencing Eric Andre who was my least favorite guest, what with his Cheetos and burping, and dissing Howard's chart themes.

One of the things that I love about this show is the way you can tell the hosts have been exposed to New York and California for a long time, some examples from this show: -Quakers and Amish are the same thing -Lots of kids are fat, and they shape up (I bet the ones that move to Hollywood have) -Normal People get desert at Restaurants -It's weird for women to cook for their husbands -People that don't like Honda are weird (try asking that question in Michigan) No trolling here, the California perspective is really entertaining My two cents on the nice tits guy: I think he was passive-aggressively telling Ms. Laime to mind her own business

I thought it was Ronna and Bev, with Bev saying Bing-Bong over and over, because she liked the sound of it.

I've gotta say, I wish you all had gone down the "haggard labia" route.

I once knew a guy that talked just like Steve-O, he did the same exact shit, just talk over you, go on and on with story after story, and kind of not notice that you're there. His name was Dave-O. I propose anybody who chronically interrupts gets an O attached to their first name Pete chronically interrupts people, bang, we start to call him Pete-O. Katie can't shut up, boom, Katie-O. It would be a perfect way to identify the chronic interrupters and subsequent long-winded story-tellers. I have to say that Steve-O came across as an alright guy, maybe a little manic, but I don't think worse of him for the appearance.

My only problem with this episode is that I'll have forgotten how great this one was when it's time to vote for top episodes of the year...

Mental Illness Happy Hour is under the Ear Wolf Umbrella? Or maybe just like an Ear wolf ally? No worries, I will take all the surveys.

Regarding Howard Michael Kremer's age: You can do google research to find his age via vital records. Do you really want to know? Nah, it's more fun to have Ku-Ku and guests bug him about it.

Funny that people are talking about Nancy Cooper's (Pamela Murphy) voice when one of the most "unique" and recognizable voices in Hollywood was there in Kristin Schaal. Hers is the voice that I would expect to grate on some people. I don't know, I think it's because so many of the C.B.B. fans are likely male. I'm sure he's well and gone from this thread by now..... But the Chocktaw doesn't know what Wawa is? What's the crackers, Man-Auker?
