  1. I know no one cares, but I have a suggestion for a guest. Sean 'n' Hayes should have someone, anyone on that will be unconditionally real and honest. Maybe it would be someone not even in show business at all. It might be a guest that doesn't have a reputation to keep or career-related motivation to sit silently. The trend of past guests seems to show that guests often start off with cautious optimism, but by the end, they have already given up hope twenty-plus minutes ago that the funny berating received would cease. It would at least be interesting to hear the exchanges between Sean + Hayes and someone who doesn't act like they are being held hostage by mic-point. Whatever, though. Love the show! Thanks for doing it!

I think Jimmy Pardo would fit what you are looking for.

  2. George Brett's bat is in the hall of fame because after he was declared out (which ended the game) the Royals objected to the decision, and the league found in the Royals favor.

This resulted in a real MLB oddity: they restarted the game at a later date, right after Brett's previously invalidated home run.

    Odd incident in baseball lore.

  3. Has anyone been to Howard and Brody's show? They're coming to my town tomorrow, and I'm trying to convince my wife that we should go, but I don't know what to expect.

Is it just a straight up stand up act? I'd be a little surprised if it is, because I think the show goes from like 9 until 1 in the morning.

    Thanks for any input.

  4. Wow, so much uncomfortable giggling in this episode. I'd love to take these two guys out to a raunchy strip club, and watch them squirm.

Or, I'd like to see Armen and Paul Rust have to participate in a political debate together, with tough questions, a probing moderator, and an intensely interested crowd. Or just an hour straight of two cops interrogating him about the Tom Cruise story, detail by painful detail. Or have Armen punch up comedy bits with Marc Maron and Dave Anthony. Or, Armen trying to explain the notion of white privilege to an angry republican, via his wealthy upbringing.

Hell, I think a whole podcast of making Armen uncomfortable may be called for. Anything but his nasty Clitoris sandwich

  5. I loved April's energy, as usual, but I have to say the funniest section of the show was the 18 minute mark when she gets called out for "daria-ing" a chart entry. You could tell from the way she went from placid-aggravated that Howard had been pestering her before the show about Daria-ing.

The energy between those two is tense but pretty funny.

  6. Did anyone notice them gently poking fun at Pardo? O'Heir and Sanz are both Chicago guys who have no problem saying Earwolf. Jimmy Pardo is a Chicago guy that pronounces it Airwolf.

I was laughing my butt off, wishing I could the look on Pardo's face when he hears that portion of the episode.

  7. I'm sorry to be off topic, but can someone explain the numbering of this show to me? I've just started listening.

Is it that the lower digit episodes are non-sports episodes?

I'm enjoying the show so far, but I skipped downloading a few because they had low digits, and I assumed that they were re-runs, and would be filled with "old sports news"

    Thanks for any input.

  8. I understand why people weren't into Bill Callahan being on this episode. Callahan is pretty introspective and (frankly) a lot of his music is wonderful but really bummed out.

That being said, Pardo (almost a character in his own right) and Ducca knocked it out of the park, so it was okay that Callahan (the accomplished musician) tried to stay away as the comedians did their thing. Not all musicians are funny, Aimee Mann and Neko Case may be the exception to my new rule: don't expect the awesome musician guests to be funny.

I think that Win Butler on Comedy Bang Bang could possibly be the worst fit for the show. But how awesome would that be?

  9. I know it was a joke, and I'm sure she deserves all her success, but I did start to resent Shelby. I just turned 26 and have written more than zero screenplays and would kill to be in the WGA. Going through a bit of a quarter-life-crisis over here, and it made me a little bitter. But hey, not her fault. I'm sure she's great. *through gritted teeth*

It's probably more of a 1/3 life crisis, statistically speaking :(

  10. Holy crap, this whole episode had me snickering and making inappropriate faces in public.

During Lauren's aborted WYR revolt I laughed so hard that the lady in front of me at the grocery store got startled and turned around staring at me as if I was insane.

Note to self: Must remember to vote for this episode next year when the time comes.

  11. I love the underlying tension between PFT and Howard. It seems like they like each other, but Howard's alpha male stuff comes up sometimes and he can't help himself.

For example: Having to get it in there that his aside was shorter than the Elephant aside

    - Passively trying to rope PFT into an appearance in his video

    - General suit disdaiin

    - Howard saying "That was fascinating, I wanted to let that run." In regards to Tom Hanks, and then 10 seconds later Paul says Hmmmmm, in the background.

    Great episode

  12. I'm so happy for you guys! Good job Andy!

111 isn't a prime number. It's divisible by 3. Do you want to know a neat trick? If each numeral within a number adds up to 3, 6, or 9 it's always divisible by three. So, 111. 1+1+1=3, which means it's divisible by 3.

If each numeral adds up to 9, then it's always divisible by 9. So, 333. 3+3+3=9, which means it's divisible by 3. Or, 567. 5+6+7=18 1+8=9.

Three numbers in order are always divisible by 3. 123, 456, 789.

Hooray for math! And Hooray for babies!

  13. I love 33:19 - 33:33 in the VPN feed. After two shows of relentless negative feedback from Howard, April's shoulder's just slump in utter frustration, like a spurned student being rebuffed by a demanding tutor. Poor April, I thought she did a fine job.
