    Episode 183.5 — 6/6/14 TWO CHARTED 122

Cody, thanks for asking Howard to knock off the clanking. It was v. annoying. No clanking, no whistling. Please and thank you.
  2. "They're Australian goth cheerleaders, Max!"
  3. Scott: "Ass, gas or grass; no one rides for free." You talkin' Fu Manchu to me?

    Episode 290 — Shed Busting

I got the Helen Thomas reference, but only because she was portrayed a few times on SNL. LOVED this episode! It made me feel good and hopeful inside. I appreciated the discussion and especially the plea for trans inclusion/acceptance/however you want to say it. Also i was imagining that the whole first segment was just to get to the title of Todd's book. Fingers crossed that it will be on audible dot com.

    Episode 182.5 — 5/30/14 TWO CHARTED 121

Bless Ku for mentioning Huell Howser and that avocado-eatin' dog! Aww, I love "Journey Through The Past." I get misty every time I hear it.

Episode 182 — Gandalf Vs. Snape

Episode 182 in a nutshell Armen: "This is my darkest hour" Kulap (minutes later): "This is the greatest day of my life!"
  8. I was really hoping for Magnum PI! Another cool thing: Scott played the theme from Happy Days and they discussed the show a bunch. Then later, the song "Buddy Holly" which of course had the Happy Days-themed video. And continued the chain with an actual Buddy Holly song. Pretty rad. #Illuminati (Edit) you guys are classy as hell for not pointing out that I mixed up the order of these songs.

Episode 289 — The Exorcism of Cake Boss

    I mean really.
  11. With all the old references, I wanted to chant "OLD-ER, OLD-ER, OLD-ER" like "SLOW-ER, SLOW-ER, SLOW-ER" on Cheap Seats I enjoy old references, and then the calling out of them as well.

Episode 181 — His Beautiful Fabrics

I'm willing to admit I laughed out loud at Kulap happily chirping "Butt guys!"
  13. I kind of love that you registered just to post this. A worthy, uh, first post.

    Episode 179.5 — 5/9/14 TWO CHARTED 118

(plagiarising my own tweet) " Armen Weitzman is a sleepy prince who lives on a cloud." Also I didn't place the Mario music at all and thought it was some Scott Joplin rag Not a criticism, just I think it's funny that he is so sleepy and possibly lives on a cloud. Isn't there a guy who lives in a cloud in Super Mario? Throwing stuff at you? Everything is connected.
  15. oh my god, this was so great. The anger, it was beautiful. I especially loved the Rush (band) talk, since Rush the movie was covered in Slowing It Down 1. Really....I could use even more Rush the band talk. Their latest album, 2012's Clockwork Angels, was pretty terrific for as far into their career as they are. The concert film of the same name is cool too, the string section adds so much to the new and old songs. Thanks for talking U2 to us. I have now started referring to my cat as "a little boy who wants to be a big boy."
  16. "Take a mailbox, fill it with blood: boom, mailbox full of blood"
  17. Great episode! I was unaware of Devin's reputation and found him an enjoyable podcast guest. I just got home from Jodorowsky's Dune (who knew it would play here in Des Moines) and I wanted to comment and say thank you for the recommendation. I really enjoyed it. For 'Files fans like us here on the board, there was a fun treat where one of the blurbs/reviews for EL TOPO shown early in the film was from Screw Magazine.

Episode 85 — Color of Night

Plus referring to lipstick lady as "the sister from Gilmore GIrls" when clearly she is Susan's crazy sister Chloe from ER.

Episode 277 — Comedy Bang Me!

Did the Would You Rather theme sound extra fancy today? Like it had been enhanced to take advantage of Stereo Surround sound.
  20. "Which one?" "Duh, Roger & Me" - and then Owen jumped right in. So perf. Also, as a lady, shoulders = very yes
  21. Paul Rust Paul Rust laughing Paul Rust talking about Iowa things
  22. This show is always good but has really been hitting on all cylinders the past few episodes. Grape job!!!

    Episode 82 — Double Team

The in-room workout could be the "before" of a Bowflex infomercial. JCVD in black and white, lifting the bathtub, "Has THIS ever happened to YOU??" (as always RIP Billy Mays)
