Episode 59 — Paul Scheer, Our Close Friend
JacobCrites replied to JulyDiaz's topic in Hollywood Handbook
As a personal project I think we should all, AS A TEAM, try to come up with a euphemism for the male thing as perfectly weird as "nanayno" for the girl thing Some possibilities: Slippy Dodongo Peenerpop Mr. Nanayno -
My dream guest (which could actually happen given Adam McKay has been on two glorious times) would be Will Ferrell. I know he comes from an Improv background (not UCB, but Second City I think) but I've never heard him do long form.

You know, I agree that (for me) this wasn't Morris' funniest character but I honestly think it had something to do with my extreme aversion to ASMR. Like, even as a joke there is something that makes me nauseated hearing grown men talk in that whispery, dry-lipped baby voice. I can listen to Little Gary all day, but start doing that ASMR whisper and I'm done.

I'm not sure what this says about me, but I absolutely lost my shizznits at the abortion scene being compared to the chest-hair waxing montage from 40 Year Old Virgin -

Craaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaap. I realize I totally forgot Lumber Hacked and Tony Macaroni, which are both absolute classics. SCOTT SHOULD ONLY BE ABLE TO PUT OUT 10 GREAT EPISODES A YEAR BECAUSE THIS IS TOO HARD -

Maybe they can go to a nice restaurant, wheel in a big TV and enjoy some Blacklist together. Big Bonding Over Small Movies, is what I'd call a movie based on them doing that. -
Is Anyone Else Annoyed by Scott Recently?
JacobCrites replied to kennygray's topic in Comedy Bang Bang
I definitely think that Scott has upped the bit ratio--I've noticed it, too. But he's also sharper and funnier than he's ever been. I've been working my way through every episode, and honestly the show just gets better as it goes along, because Scott gets more and more confident as a host and builds upon his persona. Basically, he is the voice of the show. He IS the show. Like, I love all the bits and sketches on Conan, but at the end of the day I tune in for Conan. Comedy Bang Bang is not very different. It's a talk show based around the host's voice and personality. We love CBB for the characters, but the main character is Scott Aukerman, and he is playing a character. I also feel like you're missing perhaps THE central running gag of the show. The fact that Scott constantly interrupts or "impedes" the characters, tries to dismiss them ("Ok, well thanks for stopping by. Wait there's more?") or gets caught up in completely inane details of their insane stories is all part of the joke. -

I'm glad I could finally loff about the whole "magazine" issue, because I was so angry all week about it. Preciated that the guys were willing to tackle a topic that nobody has had the courage to talk about and do it in a way that actually made me buss up in a fun way. -
Very much so. YouTube ASMR and prepare to be disturbed. I've never had such a viscerally negative reaction to something

Honestly, I thought every episode was great this year. Getting it to a top 10 was hard, and I'm not even sure I agree with what I picked. There are probably 20 episodes I would consider classics. The Calvins Twins is my #1, but after that it's tough to be sure, to borrow a phrase from episode 300. -
Hoo boy...my ex girlfriend was into that ASMR stuff. It's the most creepy, disturbing thing. Morris was spot on emphasizing the sound of lips smacking together.

Episode 58 — Dave King, Steve Hely, and Kevin Etten, Our Close Friends
JacobCrites replied to agata's topic in Hollywood Handbook
Only reality show I watch is Survivor-mans. I truly wish the boyz would put out a couple eppies of RSS just to talk about how insane this season has been. And how one of the contestants looks exactly like one of the mountain-trolls from The Hobbit. Like literally there's no difference. -

Pretty devestating day. My con-flabbed Earwolf account keeps reverting my prof pic back to my previous one. I have it set to "Synch with Facebook" but it ain't N-Synch if you know what I'm sayyyyyyyyyn' ... ... .. . UPDATE: Think I fixed it, gang. Will keep you posted, thanks for you thoughts and prayers -
Episode 159 — Rainbow Bridge
JacobCrites replied to JulyDiaz's topic in improv4humans with Matt Besser
There's been a couple stories on the show where Matt's mentioned a terrible monologist but declined to mention their name. Seems like since it was a show that was open to the public there wouldn't be a need to keep it a secret, but I suppose he has enough listeners where it could stir up trouble. -

I've made it my NewVember's Resolution to post more on the forums at work, and to make said posts more memorable. I know I'm one of the most forgettable commenters. Even I just spaced out for a second and forgot what I had just written moments ago. Be prepared for a 25% decrease in forgetting who I am!- 132 replies

Episode 160 — Funky Kong
JacobCrites replied to JulyDiaz's topic in improv4humans with Matt Besser
I do feel, as a Kong aficionado, that I must clarify that Funky Kong is more a surfer dude than a rap dude. But obviously he shoud be a rap dude, because a monkey rapping hints at you is apparently the funniest thing of all time. I legitimately can't think about that scene without laughing. A doctor driven to alcoholism and a family driven apart by being SO bummed out by the idea of Funky Kong. EDIT: I thought the Barter Town intro was awesome. If you step into Case Closed Town and expect anything less than getting yelled at by Matt Besser you're a fool. He doesn't make anybody come on the show, and Sexy Robot even warns people who don't like the segment to turn the podcast off before the segment starts. I don't see why anybody would be upset about a segment that people go on willingly and nobody is forcing us to listen to. I do think Matt should leave the case open to the comments section, though. He doesn't have to engage us, but sometimes I need to re-open that Captain Pike case because HE IS SO NOT A CYBORG! -
Episode 160 — Funky Kong
JacobCrites replied to JulyDiaz's topic in improv4humans with Matt Besser
As a huge gamer, the idea of someone being so disturbed by the very IDEA of Funky Kong that it drives them insane had me on the floor. Already such a great episode. Also, I've been having a ton of issues getting Earwolf podcasts to download to the podcast app as well. It won't download or stream so I've had to pull it up on the website. -

ey this has probably been said approximately one million times but it's bugging me: Hayes' description on the EarWolf Thing still describes him as the host of Reality SHOW Show. Which means either Sam really needs to help him update the Thing or that Hayes is still hosting secret episodes of RSS and not telling us. -
I still have the My Popcorn Now app. I love hitting that big red button that just says "NOW" and getting popcorn wherever I happen to be.
