Episode 157 β IQ of a Corpse
JacobCrites replied to JulyDiaz's topic in improv4humans with Matt Besser
You sound like my kinda guy, Brett -
Yeah it's just interesting to me since most guests are comedians and are generally good sports, seemingly. Doesn't matter in the grand scheme of things but as a fan-ATIC of the show I obsess about this kind of thing.

Between Hollywood Handbook last week and this week's CBB, I am DYING to know which guests have legitimately demanded something be cut out of Earwolf shows. EDIT: Although I do have my guesses. For CBB guests with Matt Besser, my money is on either Jay Mohr or Birbiglia

One of the best eps of the year. What an unexpectedly insane episode.

I'm so jealous of Andy! Maybe I should call him and tell him that... -

I think Thom Yorke has said he tried to sing like Bono early on...but we're talking Pablo Honey era. After The Bends they could literally not sound less like U2. LITERALLY -
What a fantastic episode. Did I like it? well YEEEAAASSSSS!

Episode 156 β Frozen Wogurt

Wow. Another greatest of all time contender. I love it when the improvisers have such a good time that they keep the scenes going for as long as possible, finding every ridiculous tangent possible. -
Episode 18 β Songs of Innocence Physical Release Special

The Scotts really nailed my sentiments on that Pitchfork review; a review of the release strategy and the hipster perception of the band rather than the songs themselves. I love Pitchfork but that Larry Fitzwhatever guy they have reviewing major albums is like a parody of Pitchfork. -
Episode 18 β Songs of Innocence Physical Release Special

Boy, toward the end of the first segment Scott and Scott seemed genuinely pissed at each other. Scott pushing Scott on the SNL stuff was kind of uncomfortable. AND YET! Still so many great bits that could EASILY have made it into an ep of Great Bits -
So what, are we just supposed to pretend that the Going to the Break Tune from the first Benny Swaz/Horatio Sanz episode never happened?? I am INFURIATED that Scott can't instantly recall hundreds of episodes worth of bits

Episode 54 β Clark Duke, Our Close Friend

I will start directing a TON of people to Wolf Den if Brett doesn't tell us the story. EDIT: I am also very concerned about showshowbro and feel like Brett telling us this story may draw him back to the fold. -
Episode 53 β Two Birthday Boys, Our Close Friends

I'm really trying guys but my plans to increase HH listeners haven't been real successful. I bought a blimp with a SUBSCRIBE TO HOLLYWOOD HANDBOOK banner running off the back, planning on flying it over baseball playing stadiums and basketball mans. BUT I haven't been able to get it off the ground yet because gas is so expensive these days! It's Obamacare and trickle down economics but as SOON as I get gas I'll fly it over some hot spots. -
Episode 314 β Yβall Heard Any of These Names Before?

Way to ruin the comments section and make Scott hate all of us, man. We had finally recovers from the Pete Holmes episode. Scott was starting to like us again. COME ON!! -
Aaaahhhh! Thank you. This makes sense.

Yep it's one of the greats. The titular over hard argument is one of my favorite i4h moments.

INTERPOL One of my all time fav. b's! (favorite bands). And two of my all time fav. g's! (favorite guests).

Episode 153 β Spider Mouth
JacobCrites replied to JulyDiaz's topic in improv4humans with Matt Besser
I'm embarassed guys. I don't even feel like a member of the HH scoop troup any more. This is what I get for posting about a subject I have only thought about for literally two seconds. -
I'm working my way through the first hundred, as I came into the show at episode 98. It's very different, but this episode is still hilarious. I think the most surprising thing is that Scott's job for a long time was basically just to lob up set ups for his guests' material. You can see him come to life in the first Andy Daly episode where he gets caught up in the details about the coat.

Episode 153 β Spider Mouth
JacobCrites replied to JulyDiaz's topic in improv4humans with Matt Besser
Oh I'm not a parent at all. I'm in no way qualified to talk about this, frankly. I know I wouldn't spank my own kid, because it's weird, right? I mean, I'm definitely in the new agey group I'm talking about. I'm 22 and am horrified by the idea of child abuse. Like you said though, there has always been in my mind some sort of delineation between Child Abuse and as you put it, light spanking in a disciplining manner. I was spanked once or twice as a kid for doing some really bad stuff, and I don't know that my parents trying to talk it out with me would have been effective. I don't retroactively feel like my parents were abusive or naive. Also: I have to admit that I have no idea what age means what when it come to kids. I said 3 year old, but idk. I know for myself I was spanked at an age where I clearly knew better. Like Matt said at the show, there's no point in spanking a kid when they have no idea what's happening, developmentally. I do see kids in social settings that are clearly around pre-school or kindergarten age that will openly curse or hit their siblings or break things in public and the parents will just ignore it, or say "Now Johnny, let's talk about this. Why did you kick the old lady in the knees?" And I feel like they should just be told "No! This is not acceptable!" I think the thing that irritates me beyond the spanking thing that I see sometimes is this weird attitude that some parents have that you can never tell kids what to do or tell them they're wrong. I don't think there's anything with saying, "Because I said so." Maybe parents just need better death stares. So I don't even know what I'm talking about right now I think i was more frustrated by the attitude of the show. I didn't realize the general consensus was that spanking is child abuse. I guess I don't see it that way but I also, after thinking about it some more, don't know why I think that. -
Episode 153 β Spider Mouth
JacobCrites replied to JulyDiaz's topic in improv4humans with Matt Besser
This is probably the first time I've been sort of irritated by the politics of improv4humans with the whole spanking thing. Coming at the conversation from the angle that spanking is obviously wrong and based in religion and anyone who spanks their kids is a caveman idiot. I just don't think that's true. I personally wouldn't spank my kids, but I don't think there's anything wrong with it necessarily. It annoys the hell out of me when I see new agey parents trying to sit down and reason with their insane, out of control 3 year old who throws temper tantrums to get attention and causes a scene in public. Sometimes kids need a more stark form of disciple. Idk, like i said I don't find fault with anyone who doesn't do it, but I also don't think it's fair to say if you spank your kids you're a malicious child abuser Doesn't really matter in the end because it lead to amazing scenes. Hilarious ep -

Any HDTGM Movies that you consider good?
JacobCrites replied to Swarlito's topic in How Did This Get Made?
I always remembered Spidey 3 being awful, but I re watched it recently and it's a perfectly fine movie. It's actually a fun contrast to a lot of blockbuster these days. ...the venom origin is whack tho -
When he asked if a podcast can be cancelled I almost crashed my car from laughing so hard.
