  1. Does anyone know what the deal is with Penn Jillette's credit in the very beginning of the end credits?

The pool sex scene starts and the credits roll. First credit is Associate Producer and it appears alone on screen. Second credit, also appearing along center screen over the pool sex, is "Penn Jillette as Hal". Next is a solo credit for the casting director. Several credits later, the rest of the cast, including Penn is listed in the normal style: a scrolling column.

Does Penn Jillette just have an amazing agent? I have never seen that before.

PS "what is its mission" is an all-time favorite podcasting moment for me. Full Chort-level laughs.

  2. I have to admit, I'm disappointed. When Paul said we were getting a HDTGM spin off show I was expecting another movie related podcast.

Yeah, me too. Was thinking either another movie podcast, or a non-HDTGM show with Paul, June, and Jason. Back when baby Scheer-Raphael was born and HDTGM went monthly, I remember Paul floating the idea that they do a show where they just chat on the off weeks. I was bummed that HDTGM was going to be less frequent, but I realized I would love a standard-format chat show with them.

At any rate, seems like kind of a stretch to call this an HDTGM spinoff.

  3. PLEASE do Zardoz. Per a poster in the Winter's Tale thread:

Just the way the guys were talking about this reminds me of when people try to explain watching reliving the traumatic experience of having been exposed to ZARDOZ

This is exactly the type of movie that would need most of the episode just to figure out what happened.

I've tried and failed to get through Zardoz twice, but third time's the charm.

  4. Before successfully seeing this tonight, I made an attempt last night, but ended up missing the latest showing. So I saw Ride Along instead.

I'd be curious to know how much Mantzoukas made it into the final product. It sounds like he was involved somewhere in the middle of the process, so probably not much. It definitely wasn't terrible, so I wouldn't be surprised if he did some good for it.

  5. ME TOO! I also loved how Jason and Andy joked that this is the FIRST time they are together in a podcast...

And for those who don't know together they have done a lot of Comedy Bang Bang Episodes...

Episode number 200 is one of my personal favorites... Also, it's on YouTube!

    Enjoy!

All of the Mantzoukas/Daly episodes are the absolute best CBBs. I especially love the one with Chip Gardner's first appearance (http://www.earwolf.c...r-of-hollywood/). Maybe the most brilliant, completely natural 80 minutes of improv I've ever heard. Andy Daly has an insane talent for making shit really dark.

This was a great episode, although I do wish we had gotten June's insight. She was really sorely missed by me. Paul and Jason's June moments worked pretty well to soothe me.

Holy shit how has this not been done yet

  6. This was kind of touched upon when talking about Russel Crowe's crew not shooting Colin Farrell, but WHY DOES THIS GANG PRIMARILY USE SPEARS? On the bridge, before Colin Farrell is headbutted to death, the gang all have jet black medieval-style spears. Two or three of them have swords, which is only incrementally less bizarre than fucking javelins as a weapon of choice for 1916 gangsters.

  7. This intro is making me so nervous.

I nominate this podcast for most stressful opening ever in a comedy podcast.

Yeah, I was so nervous during the disclaimer. For a while there it was sounding like a serious fight or some ugliness came out during the recording, not just Ed Helms being discombobulated and taking a few minutes to find the character and get funny. I was afraid this was going to be a "losing respect for an entertainer I really enjoy due to serious ugliness on a podcast" situation, another Penny Arcade / Jordan Jesse Go debacle. Very glad it turned out to be no big deal and a fun episode.

Also, reminded me a little of the first few minutes of the "Todd Glass comes out" WTF. From the way Marc was talking, I thought Todd was either running for political office or dying. I was so relieved once they actually made the reveal.
