Kensho at the Bedfellow (2017)
geneparmesan replied to geneparmesan's topic in Bad Movie Recommendations
And here's an absolutely amazing indiegogo fundraising video that will give you a taste of what this guy is like: https://vimeo.com/87532741 -
Imagine The Room, but written, directed by and starring a creepy new age man who has made a film to challenge our views of what constitutes contentment in modern day society. I actually laughed so much while watching this that I couldn't stop and started to worry I would have to go to the hospital. https://vimeo.com/85295394

Over on the The Disaster Artist facebook page they posted a photo of everyone in the film and maybe I'm wrong, but I swear that's June in the lower right corner playing Robyn Paris. On IMDB they list Kate Upton as playing Paris, but June seems like a way better fit.

Episode 230 - The Green Crew
geneparmesan replied to JulyDiaz's topic in improv4humans with Matt Besser
Agreed. Matt, don't worry about the reviews, i4h has been on such a consistent hot streak that you are putting other comedy podcasts to shame. Thank you so much for doing this podcast! I have to say, the dynamic between these guys is fantastic. They're a perfect mix of absurd, silly, yet incredibly witty and intelligent. They remind me a lot of Charlie Sanders and Colton Dunn, who I also absolutely love. If there was any way to get a dream team episode of Pally, Gil, Gemberling, Dunn and Sanders I would lose my mind. I think The Green Crew would probably gain some new members that day! -
EPISODE 35 - Matt Besser: Turing Tests with Caleb Smith
geneparmesan replied to JulyDiaz's topic in With Special Guest Lauren Lapkus
I was re-listening the the nasty hits today and there's a scene where Ian Roberts is trying to pass off Lauren as his robot and she tries to convince Matt Besser that she's real. http://www.earwolf.com/episode/live-from-la-podfest/ It's crazy to discover that this happened a year before Ex-Machina even came out. -
EPISODE 110 β The Island of Dr. Moreau
geneparmesan replied to JulyDiaz's topic in How Did This Get Made?
This is true, although I'm not sure about the part about sabotaging the production. There was recently a documentary made about the making of this film called Lost Soul where Richard Stanley talks about sneaking back onto the set, as well as all the insanity involved with the production. It's not the best made documentary, but the anecdotes discussed in it are incredible. Here's the trailer: EDIT: How do we embed videos in the post? -
I think Scott said the phrase about 100 times in this episode, but this ep was "very good." C+

Is anyone else ever surprised by Paul's mispronunciations of actor's names? For someone who I assume has listened to all episodes of Serial and has heard her name multiple times, it was a bit odd to hear him say "koe-nig" instead of "kay-nig." Also, I'm pretty sure he was screwing up Palance as well.

Michaela Watkins was the guest. I wasn't able to make it through all of Xanadu, but the live episode (as usual) was pretty good.

The trailer for the film is in such bad quality it's not worth watching, but someone did post a 13 minute chunk of it that will give you a taste of how incredible this film is: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YACHw0FWLHs From the Netflix plot summary: "Rising rock star T.J. Cray (played by Twin Peaks' James) gets the shot of a lifetime -- an audition with an A&R man -- but on the big day, a carload of drunks smash into his car, and his hands are severed. Soon, he drops out of the business and becomes a homeless drunk, until one day when he wakes up to a pulsing beat in an abandoned warehouse where a "rave" party is in full swing. There, he meets Anamika (Christina Applegate), who helps reinvent T.J.'s career." If it's not clear, this is a film about a guy who has HIS HANDS CUT OFF when some vindictive locals fire up a backhoe and squash his car so severely that he wakes up in the hospital to discover he has no hands. A man with no hands has no reason to live apparently, and so TJ takes to the mean streets of New York city and becomes a cliched homeless alcoholic. After saving Christina Applegate from a mugging/stabbling by using his fake hand to stop a knife blow, he starts hanging around her and her neighbors who are huge fans of the burgeoning "rave" scene of 1990s New York. Applegate's neighbors Geek and Simian (I swear these are their names) join forces to construct electronic hands for TJ, which he then uses to play the keyboard and immmediately becomes a sensation in the rave scene. It gets crazier from there. This movie is absolutely insane.

Episode 91 β The 1st Annual Howdies Pt. 1
geneparmesan replied to JulyDiaz's topic in How Did This Get Made?
I'm hoping it makes an appearance in part two, but I was surprised Lesley Arfin's description of evil Ernest being HOT. AS. FUCK. and June's reply that he was "oozing sexuality" wasn't included. One of the highlights from the recent episodes. -
Episode 140 β Donβt Be A Dork
geneparmesan replied to JulyDiaz's topic in improv4humans with Matt Besser
While it's not used often, "pedant" describes what Matt was talking about. Definition from m-w: A person who annoys other people by correcting small errors and giving too much attention to minor details. One who is unimaginative or who unduly emphasizes minutiae in the presentation or use of knowledge. -
Thanks for clarifying guys. Last question: has Jason ever discussed his white shirt and why he always wears it? I saw him at La Poubelle the other night after a show at ucb and almost asked him about it (yes, he was wearing it), but he was eating dinner with a lady and the timing seemed less than optimal.

Does anyone find it odd that June and Paul never seem to watch the films together? As far as I know they are married, and, I'm going to assume, live together.

A few years ago I cut together all the instances of Al touching women in "88 Minutes." It was touched (har) on briefly in the podcast, but there were SO many times that he did it. Dude straight up gropes Alicia Witt's breasts: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ySIwCDzKLdU
