So Torretto says that his crew aren't killers, and yes in this film they are setting out for vengeance. But as you all discussed during Fast 5 and 6 podcasts, there were SO MANY innocent bystander deaths caused by the crews total lack of regard to anyone around them. Did they seriously all leave Rio with the mindset that, "Yup. No one got hurt or died from us dragging a 300 ton safe through a metropolitan city whilst taking out a number of cars and buildings." They are un-remorseful human beings. All that said, this move franchise is amazing.

I disagree with Paul that the grandfather should be considered the best cop in the film's world. 1. In typical HDTGM fashion, the detective arrives at random emergency and decides to help out. I thought they were setting him up to be some type of arson investigator; but he's not. 2. There is no way a good cop would drive around with a decent size hole in their chain link partition. This is of course how Reno is able to steal his red scarf. 3. When tailing the two arsonists, he tracks them to a shipping dock. Assuming he's driving at a very slow pace... how is he not spotted by the men or their crew? He's driving slowly on a dock where there are no cars. Why not park and follow them on foot? Also he stays in the parked car for what can only be a 8+ hours. He didn't think he'd be noticed? And why not call for any back up? "Bad Cop. Bad." - Pete Scudese

First time Matthew (the pointless kid) meets Chuck, he inquires, "How's the 187 you are suppose to be working on?" What? Besides the kid knowing police codes, he is referencing the MURDER of his beloved grandfather. There is no remorse shown and yet the next time we see the kid, he is balling his eyes out on Chuck's lawn. The kid is straight up bi-polar! - Pete Scudese

Have to love the flow of this kid's movie... Reno takes out a bad guy in a very comical fashion when he releases a huge wooden crate. Even though the crate falls from a great height, rather then crushing him the lackey, he goes through the bottom and does the stereotypical rolling of his head and passes out. Next scene... Tight shot of the two assassinated cops in their car. What?! - Pete Scudese

Why would the supremacists set the car bomb set for 6 minutes? I mean if you are going to set it for a long period of time, why not 5 minutes. And most importantly, why not set it simply for :10 seconds? Also I love that we establish the limo's windows are bullet proof, by just having a SWAT team member smash the but of his gun against. "Hey Buddy... Maybe try shooting it with your gun to see if the window is truly bullet proof!" - Pete Scudese
-
For all that target practice the supremacists went through, they truly do suck at killing people in situation. Also before the final scene, the film has already show people get shot (again... a kid's movie.) So how are there no innocent bystanders murdered? - Pete Scudese

What is immune to bullets? A Candelas Guitar, traditionally played by a Mariachis. Who are typically in a Mariachi band... hispanics. Hmm... Seems like the hispanics have found an answer to any racists trying to kill them. - Pete Scudese (This time around... I not even gonna try and help Paul pronouce my last name. Ha.)

At one point in the police station there is an announcement that "The 5th annual costume ball go on sale this Friday." What?!

At the waterfall by the restaurant, why didn't Luther fire on Ramsey and the two other cops? He could have retrieved the templates right there.

Michael Crichton didn't care about one of the main characters... The Robots! Michael Crichton later said in a Washington Post article: Runaway has a technological presence, but if you're a real gadgeteer, you won't like the movie much. I'm bored with special effects. When they were doing the robot photographs for this, I used to go and make phone calls. The little machines can be very distracting and I've tried to keep them in the background. But people like the little gadgets and I can't help it... It's a very noise movie. Lots to listen to... It's a nice looking future, no neo-Nazis, no Big Brother, no hideosity, no grime.[2]

I get that they want to deposit that each person has a different heat signal, but at no time do they bother explaining how the bullets find you. Based on the prior shoot outs (especially at the hotel,) the bullet will just hit whatever it is shot near at and will find you. So then when at the restaurant, that bullet should have hit either Ramsey or at least a patron near by. But it doesn't it hits a god damn table!

So both Ramsey and Thompson never check or run Kirstie Alley's purse through the damn bug detector?! Ramsey wouldn't let a friendly co-worker touch the hood of his car he was so concerned a bug would be transferred. And Alley knew her life was in danger because she knew the bug was in her purse. When they knew they were still being tracked, she looked at her purse knowingly. Dammit woman! If you are so concerned about being found or killed... get rid of the damn bug you dum-dum!

During the hostage scene, the baby's room has a window in it. So why didn't Ramsey just peer through it and if robot isn't there, sneak in and get the baby and then dive right out! Also the sound emitted by the revolver is clearly a pump shotgun! And if Luther gave the gun to the robot, why did it bother stabbing the two women in the first place. - Pete Scudese (SKA-DEE-CEE) PS: I made my web site via Squarespace and using a HDTGM code! The music during the corn field scene is trying to tell the viewer that this is intense; it's not.
-
So Kirstie Alley gets straight up shanked amongst a packed restaurant and then tossed in a very shallow pool. LITERALLY no one reacts. No one. - Pete Scudese (SKA-DEE-CEE) PS: I made my web site via Squarespace and using a HDTGM code! Thanks... www.PeteScudese.com

Didn't anyone think that the point of the psychic was to call out Luther (gene simmons) was the guy who got away from Ramsey back on the roof all those years ago? She eludes to being a former brother/they are connected. I don't believe they ever said the killer who got away was eventually caught. I don't know, but think this would have been a nice thread to see through.

I'm gonna apologize, but I'm about to blow up the message boards with a ton of individual posts, because this movie and podcast was A-M-A-Z-I-N-G! So my first post is how poorly Thompson (or Penny) is presented in this film. It's also an insult to women overall; and I'm a guy! Any way... I strongly feel Penny's sole purpose in the film is to just find a boyfriend. Here's why: - She seems to go through multiple jobs to find the right man. Not only has she worked in the traffic division, but also as a dancer and at construction site (she calls this out when she goes up to take care of that robot.) So I feel she runs through those places to find her mate. - She outfits herself in a skirt when pants are an option. I say this because there are police women in pants at time. So I feel she chose the sexier options to lure in a man. - In the helicopter, she makes a dick size joke to Tom. She's showing she is cool with sexual innuendos. - Penny is always looking for approval from Ramsey. Her excitement to flipping off a switch to the construction robot is so over the top. I got it! No problem! I turned it off!" She sounded like my 3yo when he was tall enough to reach the light switch. - She was very happy to hear that "going out for dinner" (after the hospital) was in fact back at Ramsey's apt. Which of course she's thinking... "There's gonna be sex!" - She gets immediately gets jealous once Kirstie Alley is introduced and Ramsey is interested. - When she comes running in at the end to help the kid, she is outfitted in a floral dress and red heels. I blame the director on this wardrobe vs. putting her in jeans and a blouse. This outfit makes her come off less heroic or equal to Tom as his partner. And what happens at the very end, she is ready to make the fuck out!

EPISODE 111 β Hercules in New York: LIVE!
pscudese replied to JulyDiaz's topic in How Did This Get Made?
The one topic I was surprised you didn't latch on to is how heavy the film got in the middle. At one point Zeus drops some serious truth on his people that people hate what they don't understand. Damn. I thought I was just singing up for a shitty low budget film. But on to something more lighter, Muscle mag publisher Joe Weider recommended Arnold to producers of the film and sold him as a "German Shakespearean actor." This is a quote from Arnold himself when doing publicity for Maggie. Thank you again for coming to NYC and really hope to see you again before the year ends Pete Scudese (SKA-DEE-SEE) -
Did anyone listen to the lyrics of the songs they selected? One of the worst offenders is the scene right after the movie on October 31. Gooby and dumb dumb psycho kid are playing around and some of the lyrics are: "All the love in the world surround us." "I can say you were meant for me" "I can say you are good for me" "You are the best of me" "All I know is what I feel. All I know is what is real." Ewww. Ewww. Ewww. - Pete Scudese

I know you said the parents are horrible, but one of the best examples is when the cookies kept disappearing when the sitter was making lunch. First of all, the second time it happens, the sitter can easily see the boy in her peripheral vision. He barely shifts in his seat, yet somehow he stole another set of cookies. But besides that, the mom comes in and immediately believes this stranger over her own son. I mean she doesn't even know what he may or may not be lying about. WTF?! - Pete Scudese

Quaker Oats Anyone? Man oh man... did anyone see the multiple shots/scenes featuring Quaker Oats product? I know I more sensitive to this since I produce TV commercials, but geez! First when the kid is eating breakfast at the table in the new house. The QO cereal box is always facing front towards the camera. So we never see the boring back when the camera moves. Then when they are in the store, the mom is prominently in front of a Quaker Oats Rice Cakes display. Later Gooby is in front of QO Oatmeal containers. From Pete Scudese

Episode 84 β No Holds Barred: LIVE!
pscudese replied to JulyDiaz's topic in How Did This Get Made?
Wow. What a great movie. You did cover a lot, but here are some of my thoughts: - I'm a bit confused by Randy's injuries. Besides the fact that we don't see him get beaten up that much to cause him to be in traction⦠at the end of the match we see Rip lifts Randy up on to his shoulder. If Randy can barely move his pinky, leave him be Rip!! - At the end, when Samantha is getting away, one of the stooges yells out to the security office⦠"I told you stop her⦠Shoot her. Shoot her." So now we are totally open to murdering someone?! - The end credits say "In order of appearance". No. No they are not. - When Zeus is being interviewed on the couch, when he stands up to challenge Rip⦠neither of his eyes are looking into camera. From Pete Scudese (Ska-De-Ce) -
A few questions/notes: 1. One of the very last shots is following the dog out the door and starts going out into the street. Why? Where is he going? I don't understand this!! 2. I'm so confused by how everyone is dressed in this movie. It is a sno-pocalypse and every single person is wearing their jackets open, no gloves and no hats. I get it was on a studio, but Jesus Christ can they at least dress like they are cold? 3. Jack is always "alive" when he's the snowman. So when everyone goes to sleep or just is in the house during the day... Is he just standing around? Is he talking to himself? He's doing nothing. 4. That sleigh is crazy. Where or how would the family ever use that. Either way, did Keaton really expect his tiny dog to pull him to the game? And he clearly whips him. Why the fuck do you need to whip your dog?!

If you pause on the one letter Mike is reading (from the stash in her Mom's purse) you can see that Hawk was traveling in Indonesia of all places! Does this support his desire for little boys? What on Earth is a truck driver doing there?!?!
