Hey all. Excited to join in the insanity!

Ok HDTGM family.... I'm not crazy right?! Sir Ian was totally conjuring Gandalf for this moment. Audio here: https://i.imgur.com/qxugj6e.mp4

My god it's hypnotizing!

Anyone else catch the final hand of Texas Hold'em, the dealer throws out 4 cards at the beginning vs 3 cards and then do a round of betting before the 4th is tossed out! Just fucking sloppy! Guess it's no Online War!

So when the plane returns to the terminal, do you think there is ever an issue where someone accidentally leaves with your weapon. Along the lines of taking the wrong umbrella at a restaurant? Where is the filing system?! Oh and why did the main hostess assume her staff are carrying firearms? I mean that feels like a HUGE safety issue if I were a passenger and could be killed by the flight attendant for asking for more warmed nuts.
-
Also we see the plane is departing from a HUGE airport where they would surely have to register it with the TSA.
-
Another major issue I had with the movie construct, is that we are supposed to think this group of criminals are elite enough to take down the Money Plane, when in fact the only thing we are shown, is them failing miserably at a simple B&E. Case in point, the first scene is man-bun's ID not working. How did that happen?! Why is he walking into the security office without a functioning ID. That is what you are leaving to the last minute? And another thing, the van is easily bugged so their video equipment shows them a feed where the painting is still there. These are a bunch of bumbling idiots and now they must take down a sophisticated money plane filled with the worst criminals.

It was hilarious that they didn't realize the Lawerence Brothers were in the film based on it being written/directed by the youngest of them. When I saw it, it reminded me I use to watch their show! What was I thinking! I was 17! Fuck my younger self! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9HbD8Pxob-k

THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS FREE CRIME IN INTERNATIONAL AIRSPACE! In researching "international air" and "committing crimes," you find that the same laws apply to international waters. One article, again more specific to crimes committed in International Waters, notes that "the simple fact is, no one lives in international waters forever. Once you reach the port, you may have to show responsibility for the crimes that you’ve committed. That is, if no one catches you before. So no, international waters are not technically no one’s land where you can do whatever you want." And as Jason brought up... what crimes were actually being committed on the plane? I mean the only illegal activity outside of gambling without a license, is The Concierge shooting a guy for cheating. Yes, we see people betting on how long someone will survive a snake bite or a pool of piranhas, but the act of those specific events are happening on the ground where laws will surely punish those perpetrating it! Also Paul, based on your past experience... what were your feelings on the acting of the guy being devoured by Piranhas?
-
Putting aside Joey’s fake hairline, the fact that Paul, June and Jason didn’t recognize Thomas Jane or that Kelsey Grammer clearly says his nickname is The Rumble (what the hell is a Grumble team!)… the most upsetting issue is why the bookkeeper wore an earring so high up when he in fact has an available hole in the “normal” spot. It was soooo distracting!
-
I guess my hang up is... we as the viewer know Gertz is a good person, but she does judge Gus by his looks. Why spend your time on proving her wrong if you (ie. Shelly) were in fact not the "villain." Shelly should spend her time finding someone who Gus will like and in turn respect him and his eventual hot bod. A real sibling would be like, "yeah she's cute... but fuck her! let's show her what she's missing." IDK.
-
I think he was just following her. But I'm still unclear what his plan was if the robbery wasn't taking place. What was Lobo's plan upon entering the rest area?
-
But when someone tells you they are not interested and seeing someone... shelly should move on. Also Shelly saw a car full of women go Ga Ga over "normal" looking Gus. So there are more fish in the sea in the end. In the end, Shelly is the one who kicked this off with Gertz. If doing a soft re-write, the first Gertz character could have been a "non-important" character that initiates the transformation for the next / true love. IDK. All problematic. Also... hey cam!
-
I will say, for a cancer survivor he should not be eating all that microwave crap! Also was I wrong or didn't Shelly mention something that before he got sick he wasn't really taking care of himself?
-
So I was the guy that sent copies of the VHS copy to Paul, and what's crazy is... at the very end, there is an after credits gem! I’m a kid of the 80s who was an avid VHS renter. So was this an actual thing? Paul… In that you worked at Blockbuster, were you aware people could write-in for a refund if not satisfied with their rental?
-
Let's all just agree... Shelly Long's character is THE VILLAIN of this movie! The whole idea of transforming Gus into Lobo only comes after Shelly is upset that Gertz is not interested in Gus. Gertz tells Shelly she is not into Gus and kind of involved with someone. But Shelly will not accept that and gets angry with Gertz, even saying, " right, you'd have fallen for Gus like a ton of bricks if he'd been devastatingly handsome and treated you like shit." Gertz denies this, but to add further proof why Shelly is the VILLAIN... in the next scene, all you hear is Shelly essentially saying how it's bullshit when people are saying looks aren't important. Do I think Shelly cares that Gus eventually finds love? Yes, but when Shelly feels denied by Gertz's honesty... all Shelly cares about is making Gertz eat her words and USES her brother as a toy in her game of deception! Prove me wrong! (ps... i love all of you)

Episode 240: Megaforce LIVE from Montreal!

I mean cool, but how do they not slip that in, in some quick ADR line. Also what a complete waste of money. Think of how many more brooms and mops they could afford if they didn't have to replenish their bike supply! -

Episode 240: Megaforce LIVE from Montreal!

So at the end of the film when Megaforce is escaping via the cargo plane, everyone leaves their deadly and secretive equipment behind enemy lines?! Wait, What?! In fact I would love a scene at the end of the film when they return to base and Egg is just standing there, looking at an empty plane. We have an extreme close up on his face and you can see Egg contemplating suicide, because the only other option is to rebuild all the vehicles AND ensure they are superior to the ones that were left behind in enemy hands. Also can we not talk about the fine dining restaurant at Megaforce?! I'm sorry, but why do these Mercs for hire deserve eating at The Four Seasons? If they are spending $30K on brooms and mops, this restaurant must have set them back by $5 Million! Also what a bunch of pampered divas these hired killers are! And yes, I'll buy that the soldiers and elite scientists can keep this base under wraps, but what about a possibly underpaid wait staff? Surely one will grow tired of the gold latex assholes complaining about their ceviche not tasking fresh and sell them out to the highest bidder! (also love that all the extras were directed to sit there and not act like they are actually eating dinner) -

For me, Megaforce is what would happen if The Avengers actually signed the Sokovia Accords in Civil War. -
Wasn't that from Stop Or My Mom Will Shoot? Need to 3x check.

Episode 238 — Bloodshot (w/ Adam Scott)
pscudese replied to Wil Dride's topic in How Did This Get Made?
What I’m so confused about… Is that they had some great source material from the comics. In the comics, the lead (Bloodshot) is a rising star in the mafia as a great hitman. Then his crime family turns on him and when Bloodshot decides to turn against them by working with the FBI… The FBI agent then double crosses Bloodshot. Later, Bloodshot’s dead body is discovered by the corporation who injects him with the nanytes. After a long period of time And many rounds of his memory being wiped, Bloodshot doesn’t remember anything and now wants to enact revenge on who did this to him. -

My 3 big questions / points: I’m really confused why Vin’s abilities were deemed more elite when it comes to killing the other tech partners vs. those of the three super humans. Also the “legs guy” and “blind guy” were successful in capturing Vin when he went rogue; so then they in turn are elite enough to take out some hired guns and a tech billionaire. In that the simulation in Vin’s head must be beyond perfect and not feel like a dream… did the engineers actually create a full sex scene between him and his wife? And if so, the engineers most likely had to watch the entire thing each time to ensure there are no glitches that could cause a disruption for the next assignation. Finally, another connection to this movie trying so hard to be a marvel film… is that didn’t we already see Guy Pierce play a genius with an ulterior motive? Iron Man 3… PS: As a reminder everyone, the infamous “Gish & Gertz” shirt is on sale and ALL profits are going to Feeding America. You can buy it here: https://www.teepublic.com/t-shirt/8894703-hdtgm-gish-and-gertz?store_id=120640 Also Ms. Gish is 100% in on it! -
