Agreed! On this week's episode, Leonard announced that Baron won't be joining him on the podcast for the foreseeable future because he's so busy with Grace & Frankie and MST3K. It's unfortunate, but I'm happy for his success, especially after he was nearly ruined by an embezzling financial advisor.

Did you intend for this thread to be posted in The Canon's "Suggestions" forum, or HDTGM's "Bad Movie Recommendations" forum, or…a third thing?

Episode 59 - Call Center Christmas Party: Live from Largo
DanEngler replied to JulyDiaz's topic in SPONTANEANATION with Paul F. Tompkins
Things would have gotten real Twilight Zone-y if Eban had a heart attack and YOU turned out to be the murderer! -

I wasn't there, but I interpreted this as Paul creeping over to the curtains/wings (where the improvisers were waiting before being introduced) and giving them a little scare. -
CORRECTION: During this minisode, Blake "The J is for Journalism" Harris said "pontificating" when he meant "prevaricating". #YaBurnt

You can either type them manually like this: [spoiler]Cake Boss got bitten by a cake shpider.[/spoiler] or open the "Special BBCode" dialog (by clicking the green icon to the left of the Font dropdown in the text editor) and select "Spoiler" from the list of codes. -
I've always considered myself unambiguously straight, but staring into Mulaney's eyes for the duration of this joke may have tipped the (Kinsey) scales a little.

Someone has, and it's NINETEEN minutes long.

I wish there were a central location to find all the latest promo codes for a particular show and/or sponsor. I just scanned through five episodes of SPONTANEANATION for a Seeso ad and, when I found one, I learned there wasn't a promo code to use.

Anyone else having trouble Download the latest episode?
DanEngler replied to Threshold's topic in The Canon
SoundCloud, the file hosting provider used by Earwolf and various other podcast networks, is suffering a multi-day outage. They indicate service has been restored, but many people are still experiencing problems downloading shows. Hopefully, things will return to normal soon. -
Episode 58 - Rented Cabin in The Mountains
DanEngler replied to JulyDiaz's topic in SPONTANEANATION with Paul F. Tompkins
This is a true contender for SPONT GOAT, but Mr. Bobbles must have snuck in and fed me some popcorn during the plugs segment, because my heart hurts. -
I endorse this idea. Usual co-host Baron Vaughn is a smart and introspective guy, and his rapport with Leonard—and the different perspective they bring to movies—makes for very interesting conversations. (If you aren't familiar with Baron, this excellent conversation with Open Mike Eagle really captures his life in a nutshell.)

2nd ANNUAL HOWDIES - COMING SOON & WE NEED HELP
DanEngler replied to paulscheer's topic in How Did This Get Made?
Supercut: I am always delighted when Paul/June/Jason come up with a nickname for a character and everyone else adopts it without question for the rest of the show, e.g. "Hats" and "Luis Guzman" from Teen Witch. My memory is way too flaky to come up with a comprehensive list, but I'm sure listeners could help. Category: Most Controversial Correction/Omission. The totally inconsequential issues that people refused to let die on the forums and Twitter, e.g. the etymology of "disaster" (Lifeforce), which shore Ipswich belongs to (The Covenant), the proper use of maxi pads (Jupiter Ascending), Gus from Breaking Bad (Maximum Overdrive), etc. -
Season 3: Game 4 - Pistol Shrimps 4/26/16
DanEngler replied to JulyDiaz's topic in Pistol Shrimps Radio
MARK: Speaking of stroganoff, that's probably what's in this weird package that we got that is all the way from… CHRIS: China! MARK: China. Feel this thing before I open it, because… CHRIS: So that my fingerprints are on it? -
No need to apologize. I'd rather read ten thousand personal posts before seeing one more guy show up to complain about his penis being disrespected. I can't imagine the ordeal you've had to endure, but I hope the podcast has provided some small measure of relief.

Update: Our resident jill-of-all-trades Shannon pulled some levers behind the scenes, and the Street Fighter shirts have returned to the Earwolf Store. I recommend throwing your money at the screen now before they eventually do sell out!
-
I'm not sure? They don't show up on the Earwolf Store's "Apparel" page, but you can add them to your cart if you go directly to the listing and only XS and XXL appear to be sold out. I'll ask. (P.S. I unpinned my old post because it's been up since November and I wanted to emphasize the Howdies thread. Too many pins and people just breeze past them as visual clutter.)
-
To avoid causing headaches for anyone at Earwolf, please don't link to streaming movies from questionably legal sources. Thank you!

For minisode threads, people usually enclose spoilers in spoiler tags, like this: [spoiler]Actually, Luke's father is Darth Vader.[/spoiler] You can also open the "Special BBCode" dialog (by clicking the green icon to the left of the Font dropdown in the text editor) and select "Spoiler" from the list of codes.

Sadly, last week on Doug Loves Movies (around the 09:30 mark), Rich more or less admitted the show is dead.

Episode 134 - Can't Stop the Music: LIVE!
DanEngler replied to JulyDiaz's topic in How Did This Get Made?
Between the specific forum/Twitter goings-on he's mentioned on HDTGM and his guest appearance on Reply All, I get the impression that Jason is at least a casual consumer of social media, even if he doesn't participate. -
Is there a video podcast for the live shows?
DanEngler replied to WTF?MichaelDorn's topic in How Did This Get Made?
When asked about a video version of SPONTANEANATION, Paul F. Tompkins said that Largo had declared a moratorium on filming. Tig's special was an exception, in light of her exceptional circumstances. Even Paul doesn't rule out the possibility of a live stream, though, so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ -

Logistics aside, Largo (where they record the live shows in LA) reportedly no longer allows filming. -
