Hi Paul, What image do you have in your head when you picture Eban as a talking piano? I just realized that I've been imagining a variation on the Typewriter from Sesame Street all this time. On the subject of unspeakable horrors, will there be a SPONTANEANATION Halloween Special and, if so, will Eban be performing an all-theremin soundtrack for it?

I think the answer is pretty simple. Earwolf's stated goal is to take care of all the technical details—providing studio space, recording equipment, engineers, editing, file hosting, distribution, ad sales, merchandise production, online sales, and fulfillment—so comedians need only schedule studio time, show up, and be funny. In return, Earwolf takes a sizable cut of the profits. Horatio and Chad have their own studio space, recording equipment, engineer (Chad), editor (Chad), and a schedule too erratic to book days or weeks in advance. They were virtually self-sufficient from the outset, and therefore never really fit into the standard Earwolf profit sharing model, so they amicably parted ways and now publish the show themselves.

For everyone interested, the next episode of the Hooray Show is available at its new home on SoundCloud. They haven't made episodes downloadable or the podcast accessible via iTunes/RSS. According to Twitter, this seems to be deliberate. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

All those paying attention to the LOST-like series of clues scattered throughout various Earwolf podcasts will realize that something is afoot, but I don't believe it involves selling the company.

Major kudes. After hearing Tymberlee Hill's tour de force performance on The Dead Authors Podcast, I pray she is among your list of guests.

EPISODE 35 - Matt Besser: Turing Tests with Caleb Smith
DanEngler replied to JulyDiaz's topic in With Special Guest Lauren Lapkus
What an episode! My only regret is that the engineer didn't capture two consecutive frames of Lauren dancing, which would have already been turned into an animated GIF. -
I'm guessing Cyber Thug hacked into the Bro Bro Studios mainframe…

Well, at least part of the reason that Gino hasn't made the Best Ofs is because Gabrus hasn't campaigned for it on Twitter, whereas plenty of other people have.

EPISODE 13 - A Dental Convention in Scottsdale, Arizona: Live from Largo
DanEngler replied to JulyDiaz's topic in SPONTANEANATION with Paul F. Tompkins
Although it was from last night's live show at Largo, I believe this photo by Liezl Estipona answers your question. -

EPISODE 195 — LIVE FROM DCM 17 PT. 2
DanEngler replied to JulyDiaz's topic in improv4humans with Matt Besser
In his Reddit AMA a few days ago, Scott suggested that an NYC branch of Midroll is in the works. -
I haven't been to any of the live shows, but in cases where there has been an early and late show on the same day, they've been different movies. It would probably be safe to assume the same for August 1. The easiest way to find out is to follow @HDTGM on Twitter or Facebook. They usually make an announcement a few weeks beforehand (e.g. the films for the 5/16 show at Irving Plaza in NYC were announced on 5/4.)

I'm not sure what outcome you expected. Is Earwolf supposed to refrain from creating merchandise based on their own podcasts because a bunch of people appropriated a joke and hastily threw together clipart designs without Scott or Ben's permission?

Her full name is Sarah Ruth Alexander, but there's a British actress (who I recognize from the fantastic Green Wing) named Sarah Alexander, so I guess she goes by "Sarah Ruth" to avoid confusion. She seems to be largely absent from social media, although her record label is Pour le Corps and you can check out her music on their Soundcloud channel.

EPISODE 15 - A Snorkeling Excursion Ticket Kiosk
DanEngler replied to JulyDiaz's topic in SPONTANEANATION with Paul F. Tompkins
"Hilariously Spotty" was, of course, the unflattering nickname given to Mark Knopfler by schoolmates during his teenage years in England. #DireStraits -
Paul, in an ideal world, what sort of SPONTANEANATION merchandise finery would you like made available to avid listeners?

Pratt's character would be a lot more interesting if he were playing Tim, the kid from Jurassic Park, who conquered his literal and metaphorical childhood monsters, and—against the advice of his mentor Alan Grant—comes back to the island as a consultant. Adult Tim would have had greater personal motivation for rescuing the dopey kids from peril, and the raptors teaming up with the original T-Rex from Jurassic Park to kill the Indominus would be a better callback to the first movie (where the same T-Rex saves Tim and the others from the raptors.) I was less annoyed by product placement than I was the ham-handed nostalgia play within the first five minutes. There is fuck-all taking place onscreen beyond wide establishing shots of the park, yet the audience is being hammered with the original score from Jurassic Park. "DO YOU REMEMBER ALL THE THINGS YOU LOVED WHEN YOU WERE A KID? THIS IS THAT TOO."

Oh yeah, AND he was on a live episode of International Waters this week, in a rare co-appearance with his delightful wife Janie. -
Plugs Themes bandcamp page for ALL used plugs themes!
DanEngler replied to allenpwilliams's topic in Comedy Bang Bang
Am I missing something? From the outside, it appears you created a Bandcamp page masquerading as an official CBB profile, and then uploaded a number of Plugs themes from other listeners/musicians without any indication that you got their permission to do so. -
