EPISODE 8 - A Superyacht
DanEngler replied to JulyDiaz's topic in SPONTANEANATION with Paul F. Tompkins
At almost the exact moment this episode went live, Paul posted this on Instagram. (And also this.) -
The existence of the audio was reported by police long before Herzog became involved.

I have never watched an awful movie in advance of listening to HDTGM, and it hasn't diminished my enjoyment of the podcast at all.

None of the Earwolf-related apps in the Google Play store were actually created by Earwolf. You'll have to contact the developer of the app, or try a general podcast app like Pocket Casts, Stitcher, etc

17 The Funniest Thing Michael Stipe Ever Saw
DanEngler replied to JulyDiaz's topic in The Hooray Show with Horatio
Don't buy into the hype, folks. -
Sorry about that! There are roughly 750 movies with the title "The Protector" in IMDb, and I got the two confused.
-
Give it a rest, Fonzie.

FYI: July fixed the episode links on the Earwolf home page to point to the correct episode. You can listen to #205 here.

True, but quotes are supposed to prevent words under three letters from being dropped, even according to IP.Board's own example ("enclosing it in quotes".) Given the fact that Shannon and I have to merge 5-10 threads every day, I'm happy if people bother searching once. Going through a list of actor names and keywords is asking a bit much.

In this case, the forum search is useless; it apparently sees all three words in the title as stop words and returns zero results, even if you put "over the top" in quotes. IP.Board (╯°□°)╯︵ ┻━┻

Episode 1611 - Jason Nash
DanEngler replied to JulyDiaz's topic in Never Not Funny: The Jimmy Pardo Podcast
I am by no means an expert on LGBT issues, but if Bruce is transgender (which remains unconfirmed, at least until tomorrow's Diane Sawyer interview) then she's been suffering for 65 years. I fall firmly on the side of "Comedians can write jokes about whatever they want, but don't feign innocence when jokes that prey on people's suffering are received poorly." Jimmy's 9/11 jokes, for example, don't ridicule victims of terrorism, but the cult of jingoism and grief one-upmanship that sprung up after the fact. -

Episode 1611 - Jason Nash
DanEngler replied to JulyDiaz's topic in Never Not Funny: The Jimmy Pardo Podcast
Jason deserves props for drawing a line in the sand and refusing to do Bruce Jenner on Sklarbro Country any longer. -
I have a soft spot in my heart for Josie because, unlike Spice Girls, it has some genuinely funny writing and performances. Also, Rachael Leigh Cook is super cute and Adam Duritz co-wrote most of the songs, which were very important factors for me in a pre-9/11 world. That said, I would love to hear June's take on this movie.

I would pay $240 for Ken to deliver a large quantity of pudding to my house.

Weird, I'm getting next week's episode, "Latin Verb Conjugation with Eddie Izzard"!

EPISODE 77 — Alex Blumberg, Co-founder and CEO of Gimlet Media
DanEngler replied to JulyDiaz's topic in The Wolf Den
Traditional podcast audiences are more technically savvy and more willing to scrutinize the media they consume. Despite the popularity of shows like Serial, podcasts are still part of a niche that requires greater investment of time and willpower than throwaway content like reality TV. The end result is that podcast fans are more passionate and engaged, and less likely to be taken in by blatant cash grabs. The results of Midroll's surveys show a clear correlation between the amount of trust listeners place in a host and their likelihood of buying products and services advertised by those hosts. That trust has to be earned first, and trust can only be established through organic audience building. Kim Kardashian can hire a social media team to tweet her $100,000 product endorsements, but you can't pawn off a podcast on your personal assistant. As the audience for podcasts continues to grow and the demographics expand, there will no doubt be people who are more susceptible. If the "Food Babe" had a podcast, I'm sure her legion of followers would leap at the chance to buy whatever snake oil she endorsed there. SoundCloud support says they need to get in contact with people directly affected by the 100kb download issues in order to troubleshoot further. If any of you want to lend a hand, contact them directly at support@soundcloud.com and reference Case #1332562. Thanks! -

What a load of hogwash. I have an Onsen I-41NT Mk. II with custom built Russian tubes, corrosion-proof gold fittings, and a ±0.4dB Vatten shock mount that blows your Kenmore out of the proverbial water.
