Over the weekend, I listened to a January episode of Before You Were Funny where Thomas Middleditch used the same nebulous pan-Asian accent to voice one of Ku's* terrible audition characters. And today, this! * lap, not mail.

If both shows sold out in a matter of minutes after being announced in only one place, what difference would it make to promote them in three separate locations? Booking a venue is always a risky proposition. Without a concrete way to gauge audience interest, you could either wind up with a mostly-empty theater (e.g. the Howard Kremer/Kyle Kinane/Sean Patton "Have A Summah" show here in Seattle) or leave tons of money on the table when demand far exceeds supply (e.g. these HDTGM shows.) Next time, they'll likely choose a larger venue and, even then, there's no guarantee the audience will come out.

For all the handwringing about musical guests, has Scott shown any sign of changing the way he books his show?

One of those fans is Tony Thaxton, musician, occasional drummer/Garon replacement on Never Not Funny, and host of Christmas-themed podcast Feliz Navipod (which has had very enjoyable episodes with comedy favorites like Paul F. Tompkins, Jimmy Pardo, April Richardson, etc.) In fact, the episode with Jonah Ray contains one of the greatest moments in all of podcast history. What I'm trying to say is, dude is not just a rando.

It showed up in the free RSS feed last night and is currently available on SoundCloud, although it's not on Earwolf's site.

FYI: I cleaned up the unpleasantness that occurred overnight and awarded its author a week vacation from the forums. I'm sorry you were dragged into it, RanRan.

There are occasionally issues with Earwolf RSS feeds wherein 1) they aren't updated after a new episode is published (causing the episode to not show up in iTunes) or 2) the feed is empty/broken (and the subsequent fix causes all past episodes to appear "new" to iTunes.) It's the combination of a publishing blip on Earwolf's end and weird behavior on Apple's end that results in both problems. If you run into these issues, I find the quickest solution is to notify @earwolf on Twitter. That account is monitored by a bunch of dedicated Earwolf employees, who usually have a fix within a matter of hours.
