I surmise that if advertisements began to appear in the middle of comments on the Earwolf Forums, it would devalue the conversations, alienate existing commenters, and discourage new listeners from participating in the community. However, this concern is predicated on the notion that our existing conversations have intrinsic value and participating in the community is actually worthwhile, both of which are highly questionable assertions given the current state of discourse. After a great deal of personal reflection, I would rather the message boards be shuttered and the podcasts discontinued altogether than suffer one more second of advertisement from these cynical comedians and their greedy corporate masters. My fingers have grown gnarled and broken from the effort of fast forwarding 30 seconds every hour. I will no longer fall prey to the siren song of hundreds of hours of free entertainment per year. Lukas, stop framining your statements as if they represent the entire Comedy Bang Bang audience. You are putitng words into our mouths. And because of that we should like it or fuck off is bullshit because thats not what is happening and doesn't really take into account the way the relationship has changed. And no, I have NOT been huffing Scotchgard in a Red Roof Inn dumpster since 8AM.

While I haven't seen Beyond The Mat yet, it's been near the top of my "to-watch" queue since being discussed on Jonah Raydio. Particularly: Apropos of nothing: Welcome back, Shariq.

Whereas I took Byron's gravelly muttering (after he revealed that Kate sleeps au naturel) as a hint that he would eventually be revealed as Don Dimelo in disguise.

Episode 232 β LIVE from San Diego Comic-Con
DanEngler replied to JulyDiaz's topic in Comedy Bang Bang
ATTABOY to Engineer Frank for not only recording and uploading this episode in the span of a few hours, but also being Hot Dog's designated driver. TSK-TSK to Engineer Frank for forgetting to activate the Blood Alcohol Limit filter on the mixing board. -

Episode 229 β Two Thumbs & Not Much Else
DanEngler replied to Brett Arnold's topic in Comedy Bang Bang
"Would You Rather" is also a grand experiment in evolving a comedy bit over time. Consider the following permutations over the four-year history of the show: β’ Theme song plays while the guests regularly talk over it β’ Scott cuts off the theme song whenever he grows tired of it β’ Scott starts insisting that people shut the fuck up for the full duration of the WYR theme β’ Variations on "We all know how this is played, soβ¦GO!" β’ Scott introduces a formal explanation (still beginning with "We all know how this is playedβ¦") that he reads verbatim each episode β’ Scott introduces the Would You Rather Pile (which is not a pile of Would You Rathers that Scott is going to use, like you would use wood from a woodpile) β’ Scott introduces the notion that the floor will close for questions and there will be no warning. He talked about his fondness for running gags in this AV Club interview from last year. (Search the page for "running gag".) It's not a product of being "precious" or lazy; it's a conscious decision to establish a pattern and then break that pattern in favor of a new one. -
How you are registering "omissions" for an episode that hasn't been released yet?

Episode 13 β Aziz Ansari
DanEngler replied to JulyDiaz's topic in By The Way, In Conversation with Jeff Garlin
Mr. Tomkpins' sartorial style often lends itself to being (and sometimes literally is) complemented by a straw boater. Whereas Mr. Ansari would pimp-slap anyone who dared utter the phrase "straw boater" in his presence, which explains the awkward tension during his CBB appearance with The Washington Monugents. -
Guys, you aren't going to believe this, but I think Kenneth may have witnessed a bank robbery all the way back in 2011. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DaMm9_gq1H0

With all this talk about Howard and sexy ducks, I keep mistaking this for an episode of Who Charted.- 105 replies

Anna's "That's Nuts!" and the gang's subsequent reaction is definitely in the Top 10 Professor Blastoff Moments. (Counting down from 1β¦) Also: She has a crazy soothing NPR voice. -

The leading consonant sound in "Graphics Interchange Format" is a hard G. How you gonna argue that its acronym starts with a "J" sound? (As to the presumed authority of GIF's inventor, Isaac Asimov spent a lifetime contemplating the profound implications of artificial life, yet still sounded ridiculous .)

In what regard is it a "trap"? Chill.com is a service for selling video on-demand, and has notably been used by various comedians including Doug Benson and Maria Bamford.

Which is more disturbing: Gemberling's encyclopedic knowledge of bestiality porn -OR- Engineer Brett having a bestiality documentary bookmarked and ready to go at a moment's notice? -
Yes. I'd love to hear Patton on a "Get Lost" episode of Kurt Braunohler's K Ohle podcast. Also, yes. I always enjoyed listening to Scott force first-time CBB guests to sit through the entire "Would You Rather" theme song in (attempted) silence. The episode with Garfunkel & Oates and Weird Al was particularly amazing.

Shariq, please post a photo of yourself so this sentence can be turned into a meme image.
