It's come up a couple times on the Earwolf subreddit, and executive producer Colin Anderson has said the following:

ATTN: Anyone signing up to shit on a HDTGM guest… Your post will be deleted on sight, period. If you insist, your account will be closed. Don't bother wasting your time or mine. -

Someone posted a screenshot on Twitter and Kroll responded that they were actually based on David Caruso and Dennis Farina. Nick, you poppin' my stones, bro?

Musical Mondays Week 26 The Muppet Movie
DanEngler replied to Cameron H.'s topic in How Did This Get Made?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ci9gPZnqiGY Since (I assume) most of you watched the movie digitally, check out this camera test footage from the "Kermit's 50th Anniversary Edition" DVD. Henson & co. were great even when they were just goofing around. -
It's Taschen's The James Bond Archives.

No worries. If the dumb forum software let me edit the timestamps on posts, everything would have been cool.

Apologies for the weird comment order. There was no way for me to merge the two threads and preserve the "Comments" link on the episode page, so I had to move over the C&Os from the original thread instead.

Curious about the Plug themes AND catchphrase suggestions
DanEngler replied to CaseyRafter's topic in Comedy Bang Bang
Mikal Cronin (musician, Hollywood Handbook and Best Show favorite) submitted a plugs theme, but I don't think it was ever used on the show. Not sure it counts but Tenacious D recorded a plugs theme during their CBB episode and, as promised, it was used on the next episode. -
The official HDTGM Twitter account announced the movies this morning: Superman IV and Freejack.

Episode 044: James Bond: By The Numbers with FiveThirtyEight's Walt Hickey
DanEngler replied to JulyDiaz's topic in James Bonding
Looks like the surveys used on this episode were conducted via Walt's site back in 2015. Those surveys don't include any of the categories Kickpuncher mentioned, however, so I guess I was wrong about a follow-up episode. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ I believe she's checking the main show account. -
Episode 044: James Bond: By The Numbers with FiveThirtyEight's Walt Hickey
DanEngler replied to JulyDiaz's topic in James Bonding
They have 26 non-movie episodes (plus Stitcher Premium exclusives) to fill during their year-long contract, so they might be planning a Part II. Hell, Walt's data is evergreen, so they could have recorded it immediately after this one. -
And the one where Scott interviewed Elvis Costello, that ends with a speechless Sarah Silverman saying "YOU ARE AN IDIOT!"

It's live on Howl and Stitcher Premium now.

They're trying to capitalize on the success of the rebooted video game franchise. Here's a side-by-side comparison of the trailer and footage from the 2013 game: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3gcGxLwC29I Edited to add: The game reboot was intended to divorce Lara Croft from her grossly objectified/male gaze-y history and, to that end, they hired Rhianna (daughter of Terry) Pratchett as lead writer of the series. Their attempts were not altogether successful. In a post-Force Awakens, post-Jessica Jones, post-Wonder Woman world, I imagine studios are scrambling to get on the Strong Female Protagonist hype train.

Cameron co-hosted 100+ episodes of a sci-fi/action movie podcast called Wham Bam Pow. She's beyond qualified to discuss more than lesbian-centric movies.

Mission accomplished!

I love that the name "Chef Kevin" has apparently been adopted by everyone at Earwolf. I hate that Chef Kevin didn't capture any photos of Paul and Rhea losing their shit after Tawny made the Grape Lady noise.

PSA: For more info about Carry A. Nation, the most recent episode of Criminal (one of my favorite podcasts) covers her bizarre life story in detail.

Episode 169 - The Garbage Pail Kids Movie: LIVE!
DanEngler replied to JulyDiaz's topic in How Did This Get Made?
In case you guys aren't following Paul on Twitter, the Garbage Pail Kids cast is coming out of the woodwork. And later… Sounds like Blake is going to have a lot of material for this week's article. Edited to add: I think they just booked Chrissy Teigen for one of the November live shows via the magic of Twitter!- 183 replies

If y'all get bored over the weekend, you can watch my "alternate universe where I participate in Musical Mondays" pick: the to Rags to Riches. It's sort of a 60s jukebox musical about a bunch of orphan girls getting adopted by a rich guy, starring post-Little Shop of Horrors pre-Martin Tisha Campbell, Bill Maher, and Joseph Bologna (who sadly just died this week.) My sisters recorded this during its initial broadcast in 1987 and played it on repeat until the VHS tape wore out, so it's been seared into my brain. This experience is perfectly replicated by watching the ghastly VHS rip on YouTube. If you want more of the show in pristine DVD quality, you can find the complete boxed set on Amazon (using HDTGM's affiliate code to give the gang a cut.) Enjoy/I'm sorry.

Episode 168 - Hard Ticket to Hawaii: LIVE!
DanEngler replied to JulyDiaz's topic in How Did This Get Made?
Karen also has another podcast with Chris Fairbanks called Do You Need A Ride?, which they record while giving comedians rides to/from the airport or to gigs around town. It's been reduced to a monthly show (since Karen has been busy with TV gigs and touring My Favorite Murder, and Chris had hip replacement surgery) but there are a lot of great episodes in the archive. -
Episode 112 - Footlight Parade (w/ Bryan Cogman)
DanEngler replied to DaltonMaltz's topic in The Canon
The reason the poll remains open after Amy calls it is because (unfortunately) there's no way for us to close the poll without closing the thread altogether. Letting the discussion continue is more important than a "clean" vote count. -
On Minisode 163.5, Paul said the following: The end.
