HDTGM is really the only movie podcast I listen to, so I guess I'm oblivious to being done to death, but I'd totally still be into Paul, June and Jason taking a crack at it.
-
Just listened to this, funny stuff. I love that the main gripe people have is that the slang isn't contemporary enough, haha. I don't know why that even matters, it's a character.
-
I'd love to hear Conan O'Brien on the show.
-
DUDE LET'S BE BEST FRIENDS! This the best idea ever honestly.

Anytime Bret Gelman comes on the show and gets really angry is hilarious to me. Jordan Peele was hilarious to me as the "gentle giant" that was booted off American Idol. Horatio Sanz, like duh. Lauren Lapkus I think is on her way to being a new CBB MVP. Brent Wienbach has had some really funny bits. Ben Schwartz I think the way he interacts with the Scott and the characters is great. Matt Walsh, I wish he was on the show more.

I only saw half of this late at night before I fell asleep. It didn't really seem HDTGM worthy crazy-bad in my opinion, just boring and kinda weird in that way that horror movies are. I didn't really understand what was going on, but then again I only saw half of it. Maybe I'll watch it again.

Man, what a tough crowd, it's almost like they're in a courtroom where someone is being tried for the murder of a teenage boy or something. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WpQSJVgKn8k -
More like Birdemic level sex scenes, except with nudity. The kissing is super gross.

Would people that dumb even be able to figure out how to hire a lawyer?
-
They've done plenty of movies with nary a bonafide star. Last Airbender, Sucker Punch, Skyline, Leprechaun in the Hood, The Room, Birdemic, Sleepaway Camp, etc. Even if star power was a necessity I think James Franco and Selena Gomez definitely qualify.

Maybe he just hasn't seen PFT since his Mr Show days?
-
To be honest, I don't know if I can vote for this, because I'd feel a little guilty about Paul, June and Jason having to sit through it.

Just watched it tonight during my weekly b-movie get-together, fun stuff. I'd definitely put this on the list with other terrible b-movie action flicks like Miami Connection, Gymkata, Deadly Prey, etc. The dialog is crazy. Samurai Cop's hair constantly looks like a woman's wig. I also love how they clearly did things like car chases and sword fights by filming them slowly and then speeding up the tape so it looked fast. Also... Oh it gets delivered alright. There are several super awkward sex scenes in this movie. Technically they never seem to actually be having sex though, just making out topless, and clasping hands and stroking chest hair. This movie makes it seem like any woman just wants to fuck any guy. Women just come on out and ask guys if they want to fuck, while they're supposed to be doing their jobs. Question: the promiscuous cop, when Z'dar is scalding her with the oil, he's pouring that on her crotch right? That's what it seemed like. I loved the black cop, any time they cut away to him was golden. Fun movie! Do recommend!

I remember virtually nothing from this movie, but anything with Shaq in a lead role I'm going to say is HDTGM worthy.

The Switch - with Jason Bateman & Jennifer Anniston

Well, you've said it's cliche and awful, but what makes it HDTGM worthy? -

I watched this on Netflix a few weeks ago. Cliche sure, but I don't think it was bad enough to merit a How Did This Get Made episode. It was more just a mediocre film to me than anything significantly worse than anything else in it's genre. -
There's already a thread for this movie, and it's only like a couple posts below this one.
-
Ah yes, the magic dies when they're in on the joke. There's nothing quite as riveting as something that's completely bonkers but believes it's totally serious and good.
-
Bump. Have people not seen this movie? It's like a bad movie cult classic, I expected there to be more discussion about it, if you love terrible movies this is a must see. [median] [/media]

Miami Connection is on Netflix now, so everybody who hasn't seen it needs to get some friends together and watch this thing, it's a really good time. Really perfect for this show too. Lots of hilarious wtf moments, and it's totally entertaining. One of my favorite scenes is where there's a training sequence, which, I'm not sure I can even explain adequately, it's just the most awkward unimpressive demonstration of martial arts skills I've ever seen. This movie has been mentioned alongside movies like Birdemic and The Room, but in my opinion it's a lot more watchable and entertaining than those films. The music sequences I found legitimately catchy and I've been singing them for weeks. The plot makes no sense, that or I just could not decipher what the fuck was going on. Our protagonists, Dragon Sound, become the new house band at a club, and this apparently angers like every gang in the city for one reason or another, and they all harass this band and try to kill them. The main gang is a bunch of motorcycle ninja drug lords. Whether HDTGM does this movie or not you guy should check this out.

Just had to share the village sequence to give you guys a taste of how weird this movie gets http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3Henr8ht4mI As crazy as this seems out of context, trust me, it doesn't make any more sense IN context.

Unfortunately HDTGM can't do Holy Mountain, because it's "outside the tradition of criticism and review". Oh well.
-
Never heard of this, but that premise alone... wow. Gross.
-
I also second the recommendation of watching this film. Good stuff. Foreign films that have crossed over to America I think should definitely be fair game.

Right? Any time I hear Scott make comic book references it makes me happy. I remember him referring to the podcast as the "616" version of Comedy Bang Bang, which means nothing if you don't read comics. I love those little nerdy things.
