Episode 110 — Tony the Pony
Kickpuncher replied to JulyDiaz's topic in improv4humans with Matt Besser
"Climb up the tail, slide down the trunk." Amazing. The guy in the YouTube video actually sounded like Besser doing a character even before they did a scene out of it. If I'm interpreting the store plugs at the end correctly, I think I've officially earned a place in Matt's burn list, and it's a real honor. -
Yep, it was Cody. I think he took Foley lessons from Regina Crimp. Everyone was in top form here.

Let's not get carried away here.

Oh, also, "Maybe it's just me, but for me, money is good."

Episode 66 — The Legend of Mac Tonight
Kickpuncher replied to JulyDiaz's topic in The Fogelnest Files with Jake Fogelnest
If you were a kid who was familiar with Mac Tonight, the first time you heard that it was based on a song called "Mack the Knife", it's like "What the fuck does 'Mack the Knife' mean? Why would a knife be named Mack?" Jake, the folks at Wheat Thins have their heads up their asses. "Everybody's Workin' for the Wheat Thins" has the juice to be a hit on the level of "Mattress City". -
I was sure Gino was going to say that most of the people who showed up for Wire Club were expecting to watch the show. (And by the way, how old is Gino if they were showing film strips at his college?) Birbigs' alternating antagonizing of and amusement with Gino was hilarious. Brendon's "Tiny" voice was pretty amazing.

Yes, that was fantastic.

WwwhhhOOOAAA NAT ROCK!

YES BECAUSE THIS IS FUCKING AMAZING!!! -
I think you just stumbled onto the title of the next Die Hard movie if they ever make another one.

Fogelnest Files named one of AV Club's 10 Best of 2103
Kickpuncher replied to EarBear's topic in The Fogelnest Files with Jake Fogelnest
Fortunately for Jake and all of us Filers (term I just made up), they don't know how to compile a top ten, because it actually finished 11th. But still, congrats! As someone who listens to a ton of podcasts, it feels weird that I don't listen to the majority of these and haven't even heard of some of them, but I guess they're covering all podcasts here rather than just comedy shows. Isn't Podmass just comedy (or at least comedy-adjacent)? -
I wish, because at least that would make me laugh. Just pure, unadulterated Crimp in my head.

You guys are killing it in this thread If you had proclaimed it "over-long", this would be a perfect synthesis of a Leonard Maltin review. If the name "Nundercover" has already been used, may I suggest "Undercover Sister"?

So, has anyone else had that fucking song stuck in their head for a whole day?

Holiday Bundle + Brand New 2014 Single Available Now!
Kickpuncher replied to BrettMorris's topic in Who Charted?
I think the opener was my favorite, both for the send-up of the Bowie/Crosby video and especially Howard's musings on Baby Jesus and his reaction to a drum. -
I don't know why that's special since every episode is recorded in Kyle's house.
-
Yep, definitely a Huelly vibe. I also think his niece may have outsourced the website design to the guy who designed the scary old man's website on The Birthday Boys IFC show.

Great episode, I love that it was nice and long so that all three guests had a chance to shine. Lauren and Joe were both great as always, and DAG fit into the vibe really well for a first-timer. "Oh, Alan Thicke, my nemesis." We're gonna need to delve into that one a bit further.

Based purely on phonetics, "Jay Bilas and the moose are not in cahoots" is one of the funniest sentences ever.
-
"What did you see?" "Um..." "It was a Doctor Who themed thing, right?" "Oh, that makes sense now."

Episode 109 — LIVE from Bumbershoot Pt. 2
Kickpuncher replied to JulyDiaz's topic in improv4humans with Matt Besser
The funniest part was comedians apparently thinking that a musical act has a "writers' room". (And no, I don't think any of them actually think it, yet someone brought it up somehow.) It's definitely weird to have kids in the audience, but preferable to disruptive assholes who call everyone faggots. I could listen to these four guys do improv all day long. -
Episode 24 — Maya Rudolph
Kickpuncher replied to JulyDiaz's topic in By The Way, In Conversation with Jeff Garlin
Too bad about the technical problems, but what we did get to hear was really good. -
Great episode, Retta is the coolest. The Matawan connection was a nice surprise.

This episode seemed pretty good, but I wasn't really paying attention because I was busy drawing poop.

Episode 37 — Bread and Butter
Kickpuncher replied to admin's topic in The Fogelnest Files with Jake Fogelnest
Hey Jake, nice Bread and Butter reference on Go Bayside.
