Episode 5 — Mitch Hurwitz
Kickpuncher replied to admin's topic in By The Way, In Conversation with Jeff Garlin
I'm starting to think that telling funny stories is what he does. Which would do better on Shark Tank, Shredstaurant or The Harpoonery? I wish Mitch would have discussed his powerhouse performance on "PubLIZity" and "Ice Dating", but this was still a lot of fun. -
Alas... If eating is "cramming DNA into DNA", does that make it the biological equivalent of a hat on a hat? Where is that Kyle/Radcliffe photo we were promised?

One of my favorite County episodes ever. Schwartz is always a delight, and the dueling Katworthies was amazing.
-
I wish I would have known this would be this week's podcast rather than making a point of watching it live. Having so many people on at once made the whole thing feel pretty scattered, but there were some funny moments.

I don't know if it was an intentional nod to America's Hottest Comic or not, but Jason (ooorrr Randy) had a classic Tig-style "this guy (ooorrr girl)" in the opening take.

Episode 4 — J.J. Abrams

Finally got around to listening to this today. Really good stuff. -
Yes! I think that was actually PFT adding the "Bro" live, wasn't it?

Episode 71 — Ironic Hitler Teapot

Hey Matt (or Brett), just curious about the production aspect of this Case Closed, which I found pretty fascinating overall - Was the call with the guests done all in one shot, then all the improv scenes, which were then edited into the call at the appropriate times? Seems like a good way to do it, particularly if the guests are journalists who might not have time to sit through a 5-minute scene rather than just fans of the show, especially if it lets you get more in-depth with the interviews rather than having to pause to do scenes. -
I will never get tired of Howard doing the Sexy Duck voice. Based on the photos and reactions, awesome job on the gifts by the listeners this week.

"Lee" has appeared on both VPN episodes, but generally not.
-
Lee as a Shredstaurant shredder is NEXT LEVEL BONKERS.
-
As other have said on this forum, I LOVE that PFT is just as delighted by Howard as all of us are.
-
Oh, and the reason I said it's better if you're not a music fan is that they often make fun of the songs.
-
Not exactly. They do one music chart and one movie chart per episode, but those are more of a jumping-off point for an interview with the guest and general shenanigans than a topic for any sort of real discussion.
-
Watching Suit McGoo do his thing live is even more glorious than I imagined.
-
Whoa, I missed the animated opening on the first episode, it's AMAZING!
-
You don't have to be into music at all. In fact, it's probably better if you're not.

Episode 26 — Burning Love LIVE
Kickpuncher replied to admin's topic in The Fogelnest Files with Jake Fogelnest
I don't know WHAT the deal with that cooking guy is. He's been featured on Attack of the Show before in a clip where he was cooking a big glob of ground beef. They re-created it on the show and it made Matt Mira sick. I don't know what the premise of Kids Incorporated was either, but I'm pretty sure they got their start with the help of Legal Zoom. -
This week was a real four-banger! This episode made me after-noodles. I would have been even more after-noodles if during Plugs, or at any other point, someone would have mentioned that Eugene is one of the stars of one of the five funniest shows on television.

I think now we can add "Discussion of how various people pronounce certain names" to that list.

Happy to see some dissenting opinions to the negativity that I assumed was coming when I saw how many comments this thread had. All three participants were clearly having a lot of fun, and we got to know more about the wonderful enigma that is Howard Kremer. Not every guest is going to be Paul F. Tompkins, so I don't see any reason to react negatively to someone just because they bring a different vibe and aren't good at improv games. I probably wouldn't enjoy hanging out with GC for a night of his chosen activities either, but I have no problem being invited to listen to a podcast where he's doing (maybe) half of the talking.

Fox had a sit-com called "Women in Prison" during its inaugural season: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Women_in_Prison_%28TV_series%29

Episode 57 — From Justin To Kelly: LIVE!
Kickpuncher replied to admin's topic in How Did This Get Made?
"Well, it's Spring Break, so a lot of times your outfit ends up covered in jizz." Yeah, this episode was great. -
I agree, as long as the people reviewing it are the Improviser of the Year Selection Committee. My favorite aspect of this episode, especially once they acknowledged and made fun of it, was that Scott clearly knew more about the Chili Peppers than Jon or Zach did.

Episode 24 — That One Guy
Kickpuncher replied to admin's topic in The Fogelnest Files with Jake Fogelnest
It's always been stuck in my head that the name of the actor he played (who played Kramer in Jerry & George's pilot) on Seinfeld was "Tom Pepper", and I guess since that was an actor, I always think of "Tom Pepper" as the real person's name. He always has a great deadpan delivery.
