Jess giving Howard private improv lessons would be the best web series ever.

For the second straight show, the previous top moments of 2012 discussion has been obliterated. Twenty minutes before getting into the first chart is highly unorthodox, but A-OK when the guest is the most delightful person in the podcast universe. Howard + Jessica = Pure Magic

Not off the top of my head (I listened on Monday morning), but I just thought the whole characterization was great, and the times that she would say something increasingly mumbled to the bewilderment of the others were really funny. It wasn't my least favorite or anything, but I was pretty disappointed with the episode too. I really like all three of the guests, and there was some funny stuff there, but I agree that it just felt flat. I was really surprised it made the top 10.

And now I'm asking myself "How did this get missed?"

This was amazing. And it sounded 100% genuine. I was hoping Finger Guns and Friends Without Words would finish higher, too. I had forgotten how good the Lauren Lapkus character was on the latter. Also, he often goes relatively unnoticed (as much as possible) and unpraised, but the Choctaw was ON FIRE during that segment.

Eight minutes in and wondering if they're going to actually introduce our dear Wie-Wie.

"What were they an ad for?" is one of the funniest lines in the history of this show.

Holy crap, this episode. I was thinking the same thing about this whole episode making the entire 'best moment' discussion practically irrelevant. Having seen the photos on Twitter earlier in the day, the build-up as Howard was opening the package was pretty amazing. Awesome job by the guy who made that monstrosity.

Episode 15 β Late 70's TV

My favorite part of the Thor clip was how he said "strength feat" rather than "feat of strength". -
Brody was a delight as always. "Enjoy It" is indeed excellent.

Good call. I think it's a mirrored photo, because the guitar is "upside-down" as strung for a lefty.

"I feel like people just loved ones and twos in that line-up of numbers." Aaaand zeroes!
-
Well, that (at least the first time) was an accident, so no.

That sums it up pretty well. I love these episodes where everyone is obviously having a lot of fun and just going with the flow. Waiting three weeks for a totally new episode will be tough, but obviously the Best Ofs will be great.

I HAVE truly learned the meaning of "Womping it up" today. What a wonderful podcast.

Here's an easy one that I've always wondered - Who says "This has been an Earwolf Media production..." at the beginning of the Earwolf outro?

Great show, Kristen is the best. It's a shame that the Sklars apparently don't watch Bob's Burgers given that it's one of the 3-5 funniest shows on TV and it stars several of their friends.

Episode 58 β Basset Hound Lips

I was wondering the same thing. Great episode! -
Thanks for the explanation, pretty much what I figured. Honestly, it doesn't make a bit of difference to me since I download shows directly from the site. But I do think the reasoning behind it is good.

"You know what? This 'mungbean' person makes a good point, and he/she must have felt really strongly about it in order to create a forum account just to say it. Let's cancel the podcast." - Jeff and/or Scott in some insane alternate universe

I think they did a similar thing with Nerd Poker, albeit an episode 1-2 weeks old rather than a month or so. They've also done with the premiere episodes of some new regular shows. My guess is that it makes new shows more visible by pushing them out to people who subscribe to Presents but don't necessarily visit the site.

Not only did I love the restaurant idea, but that's one of my favorite New Order songs, which really put it over the top.

Eighty-plus minutes of Tooch was the perfect start to my weekend. I genuinely love Iso Lunch and would absolutely eat at a place like that. I feel like they were on the cusp of a great idea with the cemetery cafe when someone brought up the idea of memberships, but they didn't quite get there - The "membership" should be buying a plot in the cemetery itself. Start a new cemetery with that idea and you're not offending anyone (or their loved ones) who wouldn't want a cafe in their cemetery. If you're spending money on a cemetery plot, why not get to enjoy it while you're still alive?

It was kind of weird how Andrew semi-corrected himself and said something like "slave ship - well, ship with slaves", but then they still repeatedly said "slave ship" and called the episode that. Other than the stowaway, I'm not even sure that there actually were any slaves on the ship. Doona Bae's white character in this segment was the worst (not necessarily the most offensive) race-shifted character in the movie, mostly due to the weird make-up job, but also due to her inability to speak without a fairly heavy accent.

Wayne unwittingly using "Henderson" as a random last name in a fictional legal case was pretty amazing.
