Episode 250 - Scallions, Stallions, Medallions
Kickpuncher replied to JulyDiaz's topic in improv4humans with Matt Besser
Daly the Pooh - the best -
Howard's inability to enjoy any non-Jaws fictional entertainment genuinely bums me out sometimes. "Are them ding-dongs out?" might be the most that Howard's linguistic quirks have ever rubbed off on Ku.

Episode 18 - Bernie Sanders Parallel Parks at The DNC (w/ James Adomian, Jen Bartels)
Kickpuncher replied to JulyDiaz's topic in Hard Nation
I wish the conventions would go on forever, just for the sake of these "live" shows. The only drawback is the lack of Ds being punched. -
Episode 21 - Make Fruit Baskets Great Again
Kickpuncher replied to JulyDiaz's topic in Beautiful Stories from Anonymous People
Fascinating. -
Episode 70 - Gabrielle's Quinceanera (w/ Rachel Bloom, Stephanie Courtney, Ryan Gaul, Gary Anthony Williams)
Kickpuncher replied to JulyDiaz's topic in SPONTANEANATION with Paul F. Tompkins
I'd consider my knowledge of current music to be spotty at best, but I found it telling that she considered them a cool band that people supposedly don't know about. I mean, they're no Car Seat Headrest. Somewhat off-topic, but also relating to a show currently available on Netflix, the new season of BoJack is wonderful and Mr. Peanutbutter is a constant source of LOLs. -
Episode 88 - Matt Gourley: Stockholm Syndrome with Dennis Palp
Kickpuncher replied to JulyDiaz's topic in With Special Guest Lauren Lapkus
Yep. He has a great ability to project awkwardness. I also liked Traci being involved in the plot more than usual. -
Episode 249 - Austin Lucas with The Wish Academy
Kickpuncher replied to JulyDiaz's topic in improv4humans with Matt Besser
I really wish he could be on I4H and CBB more often. What a fucking pro. -
Howie is talking' Summah on High & Mighty today - http://headgum.com/episode/episode-59-summer-summah-w-howard-kremer/

That reminds me, the riff on pop music deriving its name from the phrase "Ay, papi!" was amazing.

Paul and Lauren both posted photos with him and it made me feel good that he was able to stay active in comedy for so long and have such a wide influence. I'm also happy that Gilly finally gets her money.
-
He also asked Jim "Are you a genie?!", and neither of them pointed out (at that point) that Jim's wife is named Jeannie.

Episode 69 - Minnesota State Fair (w/ Cedric Yarbrough, Mark McConville, Colleen Smith, Little Janet Varney)
Kickpuncher replied to JulyDiaz's topic in SPONTANEANATION with Paul F. Tompkins
I wouldn't just eat a whole package raw, but the little broken off pieces are a nice pre-ramen treat! Great ep as always. I would encourage everyone to check out the episode title listing on Soundcloud: https://soundcloud.com/spontaneanation/69-minnesota-state-fair-w-cedric-yarbrough-mark-mcconville-colleen-smith-little-janet-varney -
I'm super impressed any time a decidedly mainstream comic can come on and not just be funny and have a good chat with Scott (which anyone good can do), but really mesh well with the vibe of the show and the characters (which is another skill set altogether). It was really funny when Scott made himself laugh by saying "or Uncle Woman" during the Leesa ad.

Episode 87 - Daniel Franzese: Wrong Island
Kickpuncher replied to JulyDiaz's topic in With Special Guest Lauren Lapkus
This was very good! -
Yeah...I liked your original post because I read the "this" that no one wants not so much as "a Katie Couric podcast" as "Earwolf turning into...whatever it's turning into". But hey, it's not like I'm an investor and it's (sort of) easy to just ignore this stuff, so whatever.

Scott's bit about newborns and their "Christian names" was dangerously close to treading on New No-No territory. Victor and Tiny each reading Catcher in the Rye was so fucking funny. Patty was a textbook "weird twist" first-time CBB character; I'd love to hear the "hot goss" on her date with Victor.

I like how he initially said "That's a creative question", then (almost as if he realized that assessment didn't fit his persona) totally shit on it. I was expecting at least a little bit of Howard and Gabrus fighting over the affections of Stard, but this was still an A+ all the way.

Episode 19 - Strangers on a Train
Kickpuncher replied to JulyDiaz's topic in Beautiful Stories from Anonymous People
The thought of the "retired mafia guy" rocking out to Rock Lobster made me laugh out loud. -
Episode 68 - Paris (w/ Nathan Lee Graham, Maria Blasucci, Matt Gourley, Tawny Newsome)
Kickpuncher replied to JulyDiaz's topic in SPONTANEANATION with Paul F. Tompkins
I want that pill. One of my favorite improviser-intro-chats segments ever. -
This was a blast! Aparna's vibe fits in perfectly with Scott's. "Ming" was really weird and funny and had some great lines during Ryan's segment. In honor of Ming, two sports-themed foams based on today's episode: I felt icky a few times watching football. It was the late '80s and I was watching the Cincinnati Bengals. I know a human who had a thunder shirt, but decided he didn't like it - Kevin Durant!

Episode 86 - Casey Feigh, Mary Holland: Family Meeting
Kickpuncher replied to JulyDiaz's topic in With Special Guest Lauren Lapkus
I was gonna say the same thing! So funny all the way through, and I love how they were obviously trying to crack each other up, but it mostly fit the premise rather than undermining it. "Mischievous teenager" is so perfectly in Lauren's wheel house. -
I am now listening!

Episode 67 - A Comic Book Shop (w/ Phil LaMarr, Craig Cackowski, Nyima Funk, Marc Evan Jackson)
Kickpuncher replied to JulyDiaz's topic in SPONTANEANATION with Paul F. Tompkins
Oh, really? I wonder if there was something in the improv that would have related to Indy. -
The new songs sound awesome. I wish they were available to purchase!
