Episode 9 - Megyn Kelly Is Inside the Boys Club
Kickpuncher replied to JulyDiaz's topic in Hard Nation
Correct! The call was amazing. I liked the interview a lot, but it would have been even better if they would have dubbed Jessica's voice over the Trump interview clips. -
I think the appropriate version of that question would have been "Do you think Jimi Hendrix used a regular lawnmower upside-down?"

Episode 12 - Alcoholics Anonymous
Kickpuncher replied to JulyDiaz's topic in Beautiful Stories from Anonymous People
Agree 100%. I was expecting the caller to sound clearly uncomfortable or even angry and for the "hang-up" to be a lot more abrupt. If he made up the boss story, he was nice about it and I doubt he could/would have handled it that courteously and smoothly if he had really been rattled. -
Why isn't the discontent of our favorite Earwolf hosts being discussed?

Bringing up Mutombo in regard to "swatting people away" was great, and also ironic since his most famous off-court moment is "Who wants to sex Mutombo?" -
Episode 61 - A Suburban High School History Class on The First Day of Black History Month: Live from Largo

Fantastic! A veritable juking box of CBB catchphrases. Spider-powers aside, it felt like a conscious (and much-needed) reining-in of the Time Bobby continuity. Bobby might be the king of no-questions-asked immediate yes-anding.

Episode 11 - Jersey Boy
Kickpuncher replied to JulyDiaz's topic in Beautiful Stories from Anonymous People
I think it's more of a cultural thing than a regional thing. I've certainly heard it (though I feel like it's been a long time) and knew what he meant, but only after a second of thought. Chris doesn't drink and has (I think) lived his entire adult life in New York, so I can't imagine the full phrase - let alone an abbreviation for it - comes up too often in his life. -
You could tell this was someone impersonating Woody Allen and not the genuine article because he never mentioned Entourage.

I totally would have bought that "Saucerman" was some old-timey term that I've never heard. -

Holy shit, he even looks a little bit like Scott. -

The way that they were like "Oh yeah, calligraphy" at the very end was amazing.

Episode 60 - Storm Drain/Live from San Francisco Sketchfest

Holy shit, this was one of the GOATs. Hamm is the best and the improv was fantastic. Also, as much as I love Mitch & Delores, I'll take punchy CBB tour ads with Lauren and Neil any day of the week. -
Shout-out to my fellow nerds yelling "K'un L'un!" at their phones. Love hearing the Hollywood Facts theme, but I'm amazed that it isn't permanently burned into Scott's brain after Grounded Me@.

Latest episode (5/1) has a brief appearance by a certain condiment-loving Earwolf engineer!

Really funny episode. Andrea had some Wompler-level volume issues, but was a great guest overall. The opening few minutes felt looser and even sounded a little different and it was awesome. FWIW, if you see an "interpreter" in a post-fight interview in MMA, it's almost never a real interpreter, just someone from the fighter's team serving as one.

Episode 7 - FDR is the Santa Claus of America
Kickpuncher replied to JulyDiaz's topic in Hard Nation
The premise of this episode is so fucking absurd and I love it. Eugene playing FDR as a wrestling manager cutting a promo is pretty great. Surprisingly, the only obvious anachronism I noticed was the talk about black boxers, because Joe Louis had been world heavyweight champion since 1937. -
Looking forward to Earwolf's new podcast, "You Talkin' 'Bout Beyonce?!"

I was there! (Too?) Awesome show. Lauren had a ton of stand-out moments. Witnessing Paul's reactions anytime Scott says something stupid (often before or even absent of an actual chime-in) was worth the price of admission. Neil's opening set was great and so perfectly Neil-y. -
