It's a shame there was never a popular band called Archive so that he could have said "Mmmuuusical guest, Archive!"

As per usual, the Hey Gang thing makes zero sense. He released two episodes last night - one of which he had already released, and one of which was just recorded, and thus is probably not the Austin one he discussed here. Correction - The 1/29 "Austin Stories House" episode apparently was posted last night, but for some reason it wasn't showing up in my stream.

Yes. "A, B, X, triangle" makes me laugh out loud every time.

Episode 64 - Eliza Skinner: Post-Apodcastlypse
Kickpuncher replied to JulyDiaz's topic in With Special Guest Lauren Lapkus
Favorite episode so far this year. I don't know if it was a technical difficulty or what, but the one-line-behind Third Eye Blind sing-along was amazing. Also, "Is it Black Twitter?" -
Episode 225 - The Jug-Galos with Murder by Death
Kickpuncher replied to JulyDiaz's topic in improv4humans with Matt Besser
Great lineup, great episode. That singer's voice is great. -
This episode really scratched my old references itch, which has been driving me crazy since Nerd Poker ended. I had a feeling this one wouldn't go over great, but I loved it. The interview part was fun and interesting and of course the Trump/Bernie (TITULAR) part was great. I don't generally agree with people complaining about comedy getting "too PC", but cases like this make me feel like there's some merit to it. Gilbert says stuff that I can see people reflexively cringing at, but if you really listen, 90% of the time the target of the joke is either himself or someone like Cosby who's obviously earned it.

It's not really that much different from talking about movies they haven't seen (which I'd guess is usually the case for at least 4/5 movies). The only real difference is that movies are more a part of the cultural conversation, and they might have opinions about the actors or directors rather than knowing nothing at all. Ultimately, the chart entries have always been a jumping-off point for a conversation more than the subject of a specific discussion.

"Government Names (featuring Randruff)" on the next Summah album or GTFO. Great episode, Randall seems like a great guy and our intrepid hosts were both in top form.

Episode 45 - Margaritaville

This is like the ABSOLUTE BARE MINIMUM effort you could possibly put into a song parody. "OK, we've replaced on word and one line. You know what, let's just put 'chow' in place of every other word and call it a day". Great episode. Jean plays a really funny drunk. Favorite line - "Will you marry these rubbing alcohols?" -
Really fun episode! Two jokes that I was expecting Scott to make, and he didn't: - Discussing an hour split in twain, a "Never the Twains Shall Meet" reference - When it was revealed that one of the Biebers is 3'11", a reference to the band 311

Does TAL typically play excerpts from 2-year-old podcasts with little to no connection to the rest of the episode's content? -
Episode 288 - The Worm is Feeling the Bern

Great ep! -
Yeah, feels like they could at least revive it with different guests on WSGLL and/or a few more times on Presents between now and November.

Episode 63 - Jeff Garlin: Young People
Kickpuncher replied to JulyDiaz's topic in With Special Guest Lauren Lapkus
I know, right? I like Jeff, but didn't really think this would be good because the premise of this show takes way more giving-a-shit than he can usually muster, but it was really good! -

I don't think they were necessarily released out of order, just released way after they were recorded. There was one live episode which would have been recorded before anyone heard the previous ones, and there might have been a CBB appearance in there that would have been out of order relative to these.

Ku introducing herself as "The Widow Howlapp" for an ad read is officially the peak of all ad reads (non-Scott, non-PFT category). Really fun ep, great job by Stard in the big chair.

Well, you just commented on an episode from four weeks ago, which makes me think that's the most recent one you've heard. I think everyone (even people who like it) agrees that the new format has had some kinks to iron out. They seem to have settled on one that has been well received, and that's really only taken hold in the last few episodes, so you might want to stick with it. Or don't, because ultimately, no one really cares.

That first story was pretty incredible.

R2D2 soon.

ALL-STAR LINE-UP! I'm glad I'm not the only one who's been conditioned by Joe's appearances to try to figure out what existing character he's playing. I'm also glad that Lauren appeared again so soon after the last Todd episode so that they could do a call-back to the whip, the carrot, and the Nae-Nae.

Episode 18 - Andrew Barbot - Spotlight On: Mr. Dan Tennis
Kickpuncher replied to JulyDiaz's topic in Womp It Up!
Listler meekly saying "Skins" when Wompler calls her out about making paper out of something other than trees was amazing. Edit - I wrote that before I heard the DMB covers/discussion and sex talk, which womped this one up to a whole new level. -

Episode 62 - Alana Johnston, Holly Prazoff: Shut Up and Pants With Me!
Kickpuncher replied to JulyDiaz's topic in With Special Guest Lauren Lapkus
Definitely. All of the Earwolf favorites are favorites for a reason, but it's nice to be introduced to new people, too. -
Great, great episode, even if we didn't get any discussion of whether Huebel played the antagonist in I Love You Man. Possibly my favorite line ever which got absolutely zero acknowledgment - "We need a bigger trick."
