Me too, aside from his blatant case of false advertising in using the "and Stard!" version of the theme.

Episode 43 - Pediatrician Waiting Room
Kickpuncher replied to JulyDiaz's topic in SPONTANEANATION with Paul F. Tompkins
He definitely did, and I definitely noticed! -
It wouldn't surprise me at all if your overall point is right, but I took it as this exact scenario, but with "period dramas" swapped in for animated films. A lot of people have the idea that those movies are all boring and just dismiss them out of hand. (And, for what it's worth, most of what I've hear about The Danish Girl is that the two leads are great but that it's still boring.)

The minutiae of coffee shop behavior is somehow both incredibly mundane and incredibly interesting. In regard to what to do with the lid at the add-ins station, I'll sometimes hold it in my mouth even though that's kind of weird. Although I only add milk, so I generally don't bother stirring it in and therefore can get by with just one hand for pouring unless I'm holding something else.

I saw a commercial for the TV show last night and had a good laugh thinking about it.

Episode 43 - Pediatrician Waiting Room
Kickpuncher replied to JulyDiaz's topic in SPONTANEANATION with Paul F. Tompkins
Two fun mysteries for every episode - 1) How (and how many times) will they shoehorn it in? 2) How will Paul harmonize on the last line? -
Nope, no background.

I don't take it that way, but I agree that it's kind of weird. Like, Scott wouldn't invite her if he didn't think she was a good fit for the show. I do feel like she's funnier/cooler than typical "mainstream" comics (or, say, than I would expect the creator of 2 Broke Girls to be).

Gemberling getting flustered and trying to stay in character is always great. Mary's character was really funny and feels like one that could return even though she seems to only do one-offs. Fun episode all around.

Guys, not only was it not hack to start with Bowie, I was kind of hoping that you would ONLY play him this week, and was mildly disappointed when you didn't (although that was at least in part due to having Jonah's top songs, which makes sense). One small correction - You had the thing about the Bears starting in St. Louis backwards. The (football) Cardinals started in Chicago and then moved to St. Louis. Yeah, he's almost never on. I usually only listen to ~1/3 of the episodes, but I think the most recent hostful was the first time I've heard him on there in several months. They've switched to one episode per week, so I hope that makes it easier to align their schedules, but I don't get the sense that they really prioritize that.

Asked and answered.

Four new episodes (including one that is split in two parts for some reason) just dropped.

Yes! I think this felt like a more ideal mix of the classic Whooch and Twooch formats than any episode yet.
-
Probably.

DVK's Making a Murderer characters were great. (By the way, Ant-Man pretty much is a comedy. If your argument is that the main character is "comic relief", that sort of deflates the point. Kratz wins again!)

Episode 42 - The First Class Cabin of An Aer Lingus 747 in The 1970s: Live from Largo
Kickpuncher replied to JulyDiaz's topic in SPONTANEANATION with Paul F. Tompkins
I love this show BECAUSE I feel like the last couple of episodes have been so nonsensical. -
It's so much a thing that Todd said "the Widow Kulap" and Scott corrected him! I've said it before, but I love Scott & Todd so much. The whole opening segment was amazing. Great debut charac, too.

Episode 17 - Jack McBrayer - Spotlight On: Chet Noseworthy
Kickpuncher replied to JulyDiaz's topic in Womp It Up!
The "What's Cheesing You?" theme was pretty incredible. Great ep, Chet is a perfect foil for Marissa. -
Great episode. Knights of Prosperity was really funny, and Maz had the one bit from it that I actually remember all these years later: Also, after some hints on Twitter, I'm glad to really hear how deep your Making a Murderer obsession runs. DVK says he has some impressions locked and loaded, so I would love to hear a County episode fully devoted to breaking it down.

I would love to know what's going on behind the scenes with these. Episodes being recorded all along, six released at once, and no more (and barely any mention, it seems like) as of three weeks later.

This is starting to feel not so far-fetched...

I think it's that Brody looks Middle Eastern, and they stereotypically wear a lot of cologne?

I don't know if it was a conscious decision or something that just happened, but I really liked her going into the music chart intro while the theme was still playing (and Stard fading it a bit). Sometimes it's fun to get the guest reaction on the themes, but if it's a familiar guest, no need to grind the show to a halt.

EPISODE 41 - Pet Store, Post Robbery
Kickpuncher replied to JulyDiaz's topic in SPONTANEANATION with Paul F. Tompkins
U Talkin' Vigilantism 2 Me? And Paul is #2, so any episode that has both of them as little kids is an automatic hit for me.
