This was so bonkers, one of the best yet. -
EPISODE 37 - Suzi Barrett: Crossing Swords with Eleanor Church-Wallace Boyd-Foster

Jordan Peele just did an amazing one of these on the Emmys! "Us as a society" -
Lil Davey Huntsberger's New Podcast
Kickpuncher replied to Yankeebeetle's topic in Professor Blastoff
I just discovered it this week and was surprised that the first episode had come out last month. Apparently there will normally be new episodes every week. Anyway, I really liked the first episode. -
EPISODE 44 - James Urbaniak: Boom Time with Jerry Branski

"Like Indiana Jones!" "Well, you have a nice way of framing things." "You were the rock." -
These shows are fun, but if Kulap is going to regularly miss TC (which seems to be the case), is it too much to ask to devote a half-hour of studio/engineer time to produce a proper episode?

BREAKING NEWS - Neil's performance as the Timekeeper was so good that he's the first person to be awarded an Emmy for a podcast.
-
It's a shame that the phrase "What you need" doesn't come up in conversation as often as "my wife" or "it's been (a while)".
-
Any episode with "I could get used to this" is an automatic C+ from me, but this whole thing was aces. The dynamic between Scott and Claudia is so fucking funny, and the segments with "Never the Twains Shall Meet" and the TITULAR movie summary felt like CBB in its purest form.

Howard's new persona is hilarious. And it was fitting that he spontaneously brought up Love and Basketball as a good movie, then later seemed to have never heard of Sanaa Lathan (i.e. the lead actor in Love and Basketball).

EPISODE 25 - 10th Circle of Hell

Yes, it's weirdly unsettling when she pronounces Rs at the ends of words. -
EPISODE 33 - Paul F. Tompkins: The North Pod with Santa Claus
Kickpuncher replied to JulyDiaz's topic in With Special Guest Lauren Lapkus
FANTASTIC! -
"It was like a fun time, you know? Star Wars was out. They would even play the Star Wars cantina theme on the radio sometimes."

EPISODE 25 - 10th Circle of Hell

Drunk woman in the crowd was hilarious. The egg nog ice cream story and ensuing ice cream weighings-in were amazing. -
EPISODE 375 — Wompler's REAL 17th B-Day Womptacular
Kickpuncher replied to JulyDiaz's topic in Comedy Bang Bang
How many thumbs do you have? Fucking great episode. As others have alluded to, Jason's off-mic wheezing fit of laughter at the penis/toothpaste tube run was the best. Jess cornering Scott into doing Dabney was great. I liked how they squeezed in all the characters and still kept the show pretty tight rather than waiting in between intros. I wonder if Gutterballs is going to be a regular on Womp it Up now. -
For both the sentiment and the details, this would probably be the Timekeeper's favorite comment ever.
-
"You made a Summah song?" Amazing.
-
Does Paul have some sort of disorder where he has no concept of time? I was starting to wonder if saying the episode would be 10-15 minutes during every intro was a bit, but then near the end of this one (like 38 minutes in), he said it had been a quick one.
-
To be fair, it's not up to Shannon, which is why it would be nice if Adam or Scott would address it.
-
The same could be said for all of the live episodes. Sure, this one will be available live (and shortly thereafter) to more people than a typical live episode, but I don't think that's enough reason to change the approach.
-
I'm actually starting to wonder whether people are now intentionally making long Plugs themes just to fuck with Scott. Anyway, this episode was so silly and so great. I thought Paul's New No-Nos were genuinely pretty bad as opposed to the usual intentionally-stupid-funny, but it was still hilarious because of how much shit Scott and Maxwell gave him. Favorite moment: "What's your favorite magazine?" ... ... "TIME!"
-
I know, right? I actually think it looks good, but I would probably see it just for Ben as long as it didn't look terrible.
-
I listened to the commentary album today - a really fun listen, and it gave me an even deeper appreciation for everything Stard brings to the Summah table. One question I had that was not answered was about the on-mic quick inhales on the verses of "Summah Shrine". Is there any significance to that, or story behind it?
-
"Don't spoil the beginning for me." "We'll be affected, but I don't think we'll get, like, burnt by lava." "Well no, because there isn't a volcano there." "There should be." Classic Howard. Great ep all around.

I appreciate the archives being left open for now, but I didn't realize it would be done at the expense of Howl Premium users not getting their ad-free episodes (maybe I'm mis-reading that - and that's entirely possible given that ad-free episodes would have presumably been uploaded as of the launch, i.e. before the archive decision was made - but that's the impression I'm getting here). If true, this seems like a horrible idea; at the very least, that particular aspect of Premium shouldn't currently be touted in the ads, especially since the Android app is going to necessitate new ads anyway. Edit - Also, Howl Premium users not getting ad-free new eps was probably already stated (or rather, the opposite was not stated), but I hadn't realized it and am also pretty surprised/disappointed. At that point, it feels like the Howl-exclusive shows are the only benefit to anyone who either 1) doesn't care about the archives, or 2) wants to take the time now to download what they want from the archives.
