EPISODE 34 - Zoe Jarman: Down in the Valley with Mary Toliver
Kickpuncher replied to JulyDiaz's topic in With Special Guest Lauren Lapkus
Ooohhh, the funny things you do! I really want to see that ball video. -
When I hear the promo for Howard's tour, I will NEVER not laugh at "Can you come over from Camden? On the thing?" Always love to hear some gift openings. Now put that album out!

EPISODE 195 β LIVE FROM DCM 17 PT. 2

This was really good. I thought Natasha was a stand-out. I'm guessing most of these people are NY-based and won't be on I4H regularly, which is a shame because everyone was good. -
Episode 56 β SEX, DEATH & ROCK AND ROLL
Kickpuncher replied to Brett Arnold's topic in The Fogelnest Files with Jake Fogelnest
Thanks for checking in, Jake. I read about this earlier today and immediately thought about this episode. -
Ornithologist, philatelist, comedian? Gino somehow manages to exceed my expectations every time he's on. Gabrus is just so ridiculous quick. Gemberlicking managed to make me physically uncomfortable a few times, which I think is the highest compliment for his brand of comedy. Loved Scott's inability to resist making the Magic Johnson Theater joke and his immediate apology/regret, and then Gino using it as a defense for saying "jap" later. OK, I'll stop now because Gabrus's quips about the forum have made me self-conscious.

Good episode. Sarah was kind of endearingly weird and meshed well with the gang. I'm glad that it's getting fleshed out into something more than the same few lines over and over again, but I think I've had enough of Christ High as a weekly feature. Oh, also, putting a more positive spin on Tig's lack of engagement, sounds like she'll be on an upcoming CBB!

Andy has definitely delivered the same Pixar diatribe on a podcast before, possibly Who Charted. Anyway, this was super fun and Andy Daly the person is always just as much of a delight as any of his characters. Ku's "99 miles but a bitch ain't one" line was so great, and the most I've ever felt like Scott's sense of humor has rubbed off on her.

Great ep! One long, uninterrupted improv scene with only three characters could have gotten old real fast, but they nailed it.

I'd love to know how three posts consisting of the word "Nope", telling the guest they suck, and telling another user how the forum works fit into that criteria.

Yeah, just surprised by how overwhelmingly negative (again, just in quantity) the reaction has been to an episode that just felt, at worst, kind of underwhelming as opposed to actively bad.

EPISODE 15 - A Snorkeling Excursion Ticket Kiosk
Kickpuncher replied to JulyDiaz's topic in SPONTANEANATION with Paul F. Tompkins
Oh, and the "Miracle Baby" discussion might have been my favorite part of a guest interview yet. -
Unlike a lot of threads that nosedive into negativity, I think that the content and tone of most of the criticism in this thread has actually been really well-stated and reasonable. The amount of it has just been kind of baffling for an episode that seemed perfectly fine.

JAZZY RASCAL!!! Gourley doing a Germanic accent is the best. I also missed the character ads, but at least it wasn't four ads for Jim Gaffigan's new show. -
Few things amuse me more than Scott openly admitting that he probably won't consume the content that a guest is on to promote. Guys, this was really funny. Not every episode is going to be Heynong Man.

The best part about this episode was Howard reviving the phrase "Critter Sandusky", which I had completely forgotten.

EPISODE 33 - Paul F. Tompkins: The North Pod with Santa Claus
Kickpuncher replied to JulyDiaz's topic in With Special Guest Lauren Lapkus
This was fucking amazing. I literally can't remember a podcast where I was laughing non-stop through about 80% of it. Both of these characters are just wall-to-wall hilarity. And the call-in segment was a nice surprise. -
Another distinctive falsetto I thought of this morning - Michael McDonald. When Emily said something about "yawn-singing" in relation to falsetto, I knew that rang a bell but couldn't put my finger on it. I still don't remember who said it or where, but fairly recently I heard someone say that McDonald's singing sounds like he's yawning and it was one of my favorite funny music observations ever.

...No.

Not really, because he didn't seem the least bit put off by it or reluctant to answer anything. "Were you booing politically or comedically?" "BOTH!" God bless you, James Adomian.

I don't know if it was the same song, but the bit of doing one (back-up) part of an a capella arrangement definitely felt familiar. -

"I'll tell you in one fucking second, goddammit." Great episode in spite of the regrettable absence of Mitch & Dolores.
