EPISODE 9 - The Annual Ghost Sex Convention
Kickpuncher replied to JulyDiaz's topic in SPONTANEANATION with Paul F. Tompkins
You know he was already on the TV show, right? Dream Tyme video of the Baker St. discussion, with bonus part including Paul's uproarious laughter at Sarah's deaf magician: -
This movie is amazing. "Pretzie" is basically Moe Szyslak's "WHAAAT?!" granted human form.

EPISODE 9 - The Annual Ghost Sex Convention
Kickpuncher replied to JulyDiaz's topic in SPONTANEANATION with Paul F. Tompkins
This felt like the sloppiest episode yet, but almost every instance of that was a net positive. One exception - No one picking up on Sarah's "The Shine"/Scatman Crothers reference. Michael Sheen is the best. The Frankie Valli commercial was so good. Also, speaking of comic references, did anyone else think that Paul would bring up Marvel's Collector when Michael was talking about that Bohemian king and his dodo? -
Someone turned the silliness dial up to 10 and I love it.

EPISODE 188 — Moon Madness
Kickpuncher replied to JulyDiaz's topic in improv4humans with Matt Besser
NEIL FLYNN! -
I don't know how well Rich knows Howard, but I LOVE that he was so willing to go at him. He always comes across as such a fun, genuine guy (i.e. the opposite of Harry Crane), and this was no exception.

Until I checked some previous threads, I didn't realize that it was always the same person doing it and not just whoever commented first. Didn't mean to step on any toes/paws!
-
Good episode! Also, I guess I have to do this? HOORAY!
-
*turns away from microphone* YES! Seriously, if any of you are reading this, thanks for addressing this episode on this week's show. One total dud out of 208 is nothing to be ashamed of.

Yeah, I always make it a point to watch the show live, partially because the show account and (usually) Scott are active during it. Just search #cbbtv.

EPISODE 3 - Neil Casey - Spotlight On: Mr. Jordache
Kickpuncher replied to JulyDiaz's topic in Womp It Up!
Neil was so great on this. Lots of funny lines and it felt like he perfectly walked the line between yes-anding and being exasperated with the Womp & Lis antics. -
EPISODE 8 - A Superyacht
Kickpuncher replied to JulyDiaz's topic in SPONTANEANATION with Paul F. Tompkins
"Bruce Wayne." "WHAAAT?!" The ads on this show are better than the actual content of most podcasts. And of course the rest is great too. Also, JUICE BAR GOLEM! -
EPISODE 110 — The Island of Dr. Moreau
Kickpuncher replied to JulyDiaz's topic in How Did This Get Made?
Having seen this when it came out (and having little memory of it, but that also means no memory of it being terrible, just weird), I was shocked at how fucking horrible this movie is. I was so glad that they really dug into what made it bad, because it wasn't just the usual HDTGM-worthy stuff, and I loved the description that it was like a bunch of scenes just thrown together. Like, there's no pacing, no narrative cohesion, no depth or logic to the characters, and so many unclear (or totally unexplained) things. I was thinking it should have been longer to fill in some gaps, but as they pointed out, there was stuff that had no reason to be there that they could have cut to compensate. So, has anyone seen the director's cut? Does it improve on any of this stuff? Also, watching the movie made me realize that the book was the inspiration for this: -
Glad to hear that Howard is putting the AMC pass to good use. Now, we need to get some group outings and follow-up discussions on Twooch. I'm calling it now - the lead single on Summahtology will be "L. Ron Summah", a song about the misunderstood genius of Howard Michael Kremer.

EPISODE 187 — Wild Horses III: Gossipy Elephants
Kickpuncher replied to JulyDiaz's topic in improv4humans with Matt Besser
Fuck yeah! Great ep, especially loved the Hot Topic and Disney scenes. -
Episode 004 — The Travel Bug with August Lindt
Kickpuncher replied to JulyDiaz's topic in The Andy Daly Podcast Pilot Project
Anne Frank was Dutch. (But yes, that was extremely funny and I'm sure she could do a similar character with a slightly tweaked accent.) -

"I use monkey shit to brush my teeth." Hooray! -
I love that virtually every guest notices and comments on the Diet Coke tall boys. I'm probably projecting, but it felt like Ku had some extra-hearty Wie-inspired laughs bursting out after an extra week of build-up.

Good episode. DEEP call-back to the early days of PB and "It calms her heart." Who is the 'you' in that sentence, and when and by whom was the word 'glamour' used, or either of those scenarios mentioned?

EPISODE 350 — Helmets, Aqueduct, Crucifixion, and Boobs
Kickpuncher replied to JulyDiaz's topic in Comedy Bang Bang
C+ ep. My only minor disappointment was the lack of a "Beetle Bailey" style name for Princess Charlotte. -
This also probably goes without saying, but I don't need to check since I watch CBB every week.

THANK YOU! This isn't even available on DVD on Netflix, which is really unusual for a big studio movie.

In the movie, they said that new anti-inflammatories cut the healing time from weeks to days, but then it seems like they were taking the bandages off almost immediately after the surgery, and not only was there no swelling, there weren't even stitches or any other sign of incisions.
