Not that I'm aware of, not really, no, and no. I guess I'm lucky. I've obviously hit a nerve here when all I was trying to do was defend and maybe clarify something the hosts said, so I think it's time for me to bow out of this discussion. But if I can make one more general point, it's that after listening to 196 episodes of this show, I find myself enjoying it a lot more when I remember that it's first and foremost a comedy show and ultimately don't take anything seriously (not because they're necessarily trying to be funny all the time, but because they're comedians, not experts in every field they discuss). I know that can be very difficult when you're personally invested in the subject matter, but it's worth keeping in mind for your own benefit.

EPISODE 15 — The Candy Lawrence Show
Kickpuncher replied to JulyDiaz's topic in With Special Guest Lauren Lapkus
Ghost Dog isn't exactly a well-known movie, so I would guess it was just a Ghost Dad reference without even thinking of the actual Ghost Dog. I loved that there was a Harry's ad right after that part. This whole episode was delightfully silly. -
"Those music diddlers...You know, those notey guys." Classic Wie-Wie. This was a lot of fun, and it further builds on something I said in the Whooch thread, which is that everyone has paid tribute to Harris in their own way, and they were all really good and fitting.

I don't think any of the hosts or guest would dispute that. I'm sure they said things that are wrong, like they do on pretty much every topic. But I think their point is that in the above scenario, the cancer patient would still die from cancer whereas the addict wouldn't have the negative effects of their addiction (beyond an initial withdrawal) without access to their addictive substance.

Now THAT'S a legacy!

Great shirt. I like that it feels like a nice tribute, but isn't really obvious "a Harris Wittels shirt", which would feel kind of weird. (Also, that "motherfuckers" is inconspicuous enough that I won't feel weird about wearing it in public.)

Did anyone else find it really weird that, even after doing that episode, Ben Rodgers apparently doesn't know who Todd Glass is? -
In the CBB thread, I said that playing a regular episode in the can was a better tribute than a specific tribute would be, but damned if this wasn't equally great. Also, the respective intros were both great and very different, and perfectly fit Scott and Kulap's personalities. The clip where Harris said that war should be two guys fighting and the winner gets all the other country's wheat perfectly dovetails with his Wheat Thins foam. The dude loved wheat!

"These necklines were sooo upsetting to me." Perfect June-ism. Great episode, loved the different vibe.

Great episode! Last week and the solo eps were fun, but it was nice to get back to the usual format and they did a great job of mixing the topical discussion with fun diversions. It was also nice to be reminded of Tig's rare gift for saying the funniest things in the subtlest way with the fewest words - During the intro, when she goes "Oh, you eating some nuts? On the podcast?", it absolutely destroyed me.

EPISODE 336 — NOT Farts and Procreation 4

I totally get it, but I would say just listen to Scott's intro and see how you feel after that. -
EPISODE 336 — NOT Farts and Procreation 4
Kickpuncher replied to JulyDiaz's topic in Comedy Bang Bang
Scott's intro was really lovely and made me feel 100% on board with the episode, whereas I was kind of apprehensive going in. To even keep it together at all was impressive, but the way he said everything that needed to be said with just the right tone was a great tribute to Harris and will really stick with me. Not only was the episode really funny, but the affection that these four have for each other totally comes through. I thought it was a nice addition to the series, but in a way that it would have felt just fine as a capper to it under better circumstances. Thanks to Jeff, Adam, Brett, and everyone else for all the posts here and in the other threads. It's all a little tough to get through, but I genuinely think it's helpful for getting through a very weird situation. -
EPISODE 239 — Jewy Cal Ripken/Hairless Malcolm Gladwell
Kickpuncher replied to JulyDiaz's topic in Sklarbro Country
It was Kaz Matsui, which they were on the verge of saying. -
Oh man, I had a feeling that Farts & Pro 4 was in the can based on one of Chelsea's tweets. On one hand, I really want to hear what Scott says in the intro ASAP, but on the other hand, I don't really want to start crying at work, so I guess it can wait. In any case, I'm really glad that this exists, and (without having listened, although I doubt that will change my opinion), this feels like a much better "tribute" than something specifically intended as such.

Beverly's "clips" should win all the Oscars.

I feel like it's getting worse on a week-to-week basis, though. But the songs Howard picks are like one minute total out of an hour-ish show, so whatever. Anyway, fun episode as always, felt good to loosen up and laugh for a while

EPISODE 14 — Talking with Tommy LIVE from RIOT LA
Kickpuncher replied to JulyDiaz's topic in With Special Guest Lauren Lapkus
"What'll they think of next?!" was the most perfect non-sequitur. This was great. Middleditch is awesome. -
Fuck, I don't know whether to feel sorry for you for dreading it all this time or to feel jealous that today might not have felt like a total stomach punch, which is how I felt after (probably naively) thinking he would be OK after that. Addiction, ugh. As others have said, most of all I feel sick for all of his friends. And I kind of hate to even reduce it to this, but since this is the Earwolf forum, I'll just say that the next couple weeks of podcasts are gonna be real weird and sad.

Kid Cudi taking over for Reggie?!?

Great stuff. I'm glad to hear that Horatio was at SNL 40 and had a good time, because I was a little disappointed to not see him on the live show (and minimally in the clips, although it was pretty funny that they devoted a whole section of the "breaking" song to him and Fallon). The Keith Richards story was amazing. Getting the show recorded and posted so fast helps a lot with something like that (and, if I had known that, I would have listened sooner rather than waiting until this morning). And of course Agee is aces.

EPISODE 212 — Deny Indulge
Kickpuncher replied to JulyDiaz's topic in Affirmation Nation with Bob Ducca
Mitchell is my hero. And I'm very interested in those tennis-themed products. -
I like Jesse, but I'm highly skeptical of anyone over 30 with a spouse and kid who wants to be referred to as a Millenial. Howard's line about war being fun because of all the young people there was amazing.

Now that we know when you first became aware of podcasts, may I ask when you first became aware of U2? -
